Kapitel 8: Threat in peace

"Peace is temporary, but Fight is forever"

Night was so quiet, dark around the place, infecteds wandering around and growling for food, bats flying at the sky, stars that keep twinkling. The church was so quiet and everyone's is asleep now, other's are patrolling the place for their families safety. Vins and his group was inside of the church, resting for tomorrow's work or something, Vins and his friends are sleeping at the attic, Fionna was sleeping with Christina and Armando, Chloe was with her father it seems like their talking about something.

"...now we all together, we can move out now and find more safer than this place...i know a place, the Paradise!", her father said while packing their clothes.

"...oh! A paradise? That's great papa! I should tell it to—", she was about to get down the bed, but her father suddenly act weird.

"NO!! You can't tell them!! Its only us who's leaving...in this kind of world, baby you can't trust anyone...anymore! Think about yourself, not others..", he said with a creepy smile, and freaky stares.

"...but..they...sa—", she was about to talk but he start talking again.

"We don't give a shit if they save you from getting lost! You and i will leave this place immediately...or els—", suddenly a loud explosion outside echoes in the whole plaza.

Vins woke up, and this makes him feel uncomfortable, he get up quickly and head outside to meet Fionna at the hallway. Fionna and her family was panicking, they go out the room and see Vins coming out too.

"What's happening?? Is there any attackers here??", Christina and Armando look at each other and it seems they are worried.

"..i don't know, but stay here okay...don't ever go out..", Vins said and come with Chris outside.

Addam was standing infront of the gate, and staring at the unknown attackers, Vins and the others come in the gate too, and stand besides him. Chris clicked his tongue because those attackers comes back with a surprise for them.

"Chris!!! My buddy!! How's your sleep?", a unknown old cracky voice echoes at the plaza.

Vins was confused on how his friends know these attackers, he stares at the old man that standing on top of the truck, with a cannon behind. Leigh just sigh, Rhyanne was pissed, and Addam was just staring at them calmly.

"...who are they?", he ask.

"Woahhhh! Chris! You got a new buddy? I'm jealous!! Let me kill him!!", the old man shout again.

"...Black Skull... they've been terrorizing us for a month...i don't know why, but i think they want us to work on him...or take the camp..", Chris answer.

Because of the explosion, infecteds start approaching the church, all of their peoples start going out and taking down all the infecteds, while the five of them are just standing and staring at the Black Skull group. Vins suddenly step forward, and walk towards the center of the place, which makes the four of them shock, because they didn't know that Vins is this brave.

"...what are you doing!?", Rhyanne said.

"..what do you think...of course gonna talk to them...if i need to fight, then i will do it..", he said while walking towards them.

The old man saw Vins coming forward, so he goes down the truck and head to the center too, alone. Vins clenches his fist and staring full of determination, the old man was smirking at him and hiding a knife behind him.

"...you probably new in their camp, why don't join me? I'll give you a better benefits on joining my camp...food, supplies, and guns if you want..", the old man said while staring at him deeply.

Vins didn't speak, and just stares at the old man.

"..ohh, silent type huh! I like it! You can hide some secrets! Join me kid..", the old man offer his hand, while his other hand was holding at the knife behind him.

"...join you huh, it'll be better if we just steal it..", Vins said with a smirk on his face.

"..ohh, quite arrogant huh...like it too, but you can't just stay like that kid, or else....YOU'LL DIE!!!", the old man unsheath his knife, and swing it towards Vins face, luckily he was quick and dodges it by backflipping.

Vins was flinched because of what happened, it was so quick and he can't believe that he dodges it. The old man rush towards him and start swinging his knife all over Vins, but since Vins was quick he just dodges it effortless. When he found some opening, Vins quickly grabbed his arm with the knife, and kick his belly causing the old man to coughed and fell at the ground.

"Vins run!!!!", Addam scream out.

Behind Vins, the Black Skull was now pointing their guns at him, and they start shooting at him. Vins quickly run and hide behind a military truck, luckily he have his gun behind him, he check its magazines and look back at the Black Skull. Chris and the other three goes in the center to save Vins, they pull out their guns and shoot back at the attackers.

"Addam!! Go, to the top!!", Leigh said while shooting the attackers using his Caliber 45.

Addam understood and quickly run towards the bell tower, Chris and the two continue shooting back, while Chris tries to go near where Vins are located.

"Vins you okayy???", Chris shout.

"Yeahh! Still alive somehow!", Vins said with a laugh.

Going back at the church, Chloe and her father was at the back of the church, watching the exchanging bullet fights. They was about to leave when they saw some infecteds going inside behind the church. He took Chloe back inside, and took a metal rod to fight them back, he rush towards them and start killing those infecteds who want to get in. On the second floor, Fionna and her older sister are in the bed, hugging each other.

"..w-who are they?? Why they attacking us?", Fionna ask her older sister.

"...i don't know anything about them, but your friend friends told us that there's some people who want to take over us and our camp...i guess those people are them!", she answer while freaking out because of the gunshots.

Armando was at the door, guarding up the room. He can't go out to help because his family was here inside, and its better to have patrols inside of the church too.

"...Vins...be okay", Fionna mumbles.

Going back outside, the old man was standing and shooting the truck, trying to kill Vins. He was pissed at him and wanting to kill him, that young man just disrespected him infront of his men.

"I WILL MAKE YOU PAY!! I WILL KILL YOU!!", he screams and start shooting aggressively.

Vins is just staring at the night skies and waiting for a chance to shoot back. He start whistling, and then quickly look back pointing his gun at the old man, and shoot him. Unluckily, he didn't hit the old man, but gived him a scar on the face.

"Argh! That scum!! SHOWERED THEM WITH ALL OF YO—", they all stopped when a horde of infecteds appears behind the Black Skull.

Vins and his group saw some opportunities, and they took it quickly, Vins looks back at his friends and shout.

"SHOOT!!!!! NOW!!!", Chris hears it and quickly order everyone to shoot the Black Skull with everything they have.

Since their group was just small and don't have any lethal weapons, they crafted some bow and spear that they can use for long range and short range. In just one sway of Chris hand, everyone at the church shoot their arrows and throw their spears so strong. All of the arrows fell at the Black Skull like its raining arrows, the old man was pissed so much and didn't got any choice.

"Fall back!!!! Fall back!!!! We'll retreating for now!!!", he said and everyone gets back at the truck and start driving away from them.

Everyone start cheering because for the first time, they won against some bad peoples with just only bow and arrows. Chris sit at the ground and sigh heavily, Rhyanne and Leigh start laughing and mocking the Black Skull for attacking them. Vins on the other hand, look around and check if there's any attackers around, he stand up and start walking back to them, but unexpectedly happens, a hidden sniper from the attackers shoot Vins at the back, the bullet goes through his stomach, making a hole on it.

Everyone's expressions change into worrieness and fear. Vins slowly fall at the ground bleeding nonstop, in a moment of silence, everyone run towards Vins trying to save him, Chris who's screaming his name, Rhyanne who's calling for medic, Leigh who's taking some peoples to search for the area carefully. At the bell tower, Addam was looking at his scope, his eyes suddenly become teary and shock was overwhelming his eyes. A uncomfortable sensation felt by Fionna inside of her, she feel unease for no reason, she stand up and slowly walking towards the door.

"...Fionna? What's wrong?", Armando ask, while Christina was looking at her with worried.

"...i don't know...i felt uncomfortable for some reason...my heart, felt heavy...i don't know why...", she answer while staring at the doorknob.

A matter of time is running, Chris and their peoples took Vins inside of rhe church immediately, Rhyanne was calling for rhe medical group they have so that Vins got treated quickly. Vins can't hear anything, he just keep looking around and feel the pain on her stomach.

"Vins!! Hang on!! Don't give up yet!!", Chris said while trying to calm his mind.

They arrive at the second floor, Fionna comes out the room, and saw Vins with blood on his belly, Chris worrying, Rhyanne leading a medical group to a room. A sudden feeling of heaviness felt by her, its like squeezing her heart like a pumping thing, tears fall on her eyes without any reason.

"...why...why am i...crying for?", she said while trying to wipes all of it.

At the truck of the Black Skull, the old man was sitting on his chair, while one of his men are treating his small wounds at the face. He was really pissed, but yet happy because his men reported that he got a shot on Vins stomach, which can lead on sudden death.

"...that scum, he disrespected me infront of my men! How shitty this night is...how's our men? Did we lose some?", he ask his men that treating him.

"Yes, a lot sir...looks like we need to recruit again...those who died is the one we also recruited few weeks ago..", she said while finishing the treating.

"...really huh, that f*cking kids...they took down half of my new recruits!! They will pay...i'll kill them all!!", he said while slamming his hand at the table, while his men sit on his lap, trying to kiss her neck.

"...prepare all of our men that available, we will kill all of them...also, call those guys...those higher ranks of us...", he said to his men.

On their camp, in a dark room, four shadow figure appears. One has a long hair and holding a blade like thing, the second one has a spiky explosive like hair, he was cleaning a some sort of blade, the third one is a bulky tall one, holding a huge barbell and lifting it up and down, and the last one, a guy with a bad posture, holding some gun and cleaning it. Someone get inside of the room and show a radio to them.

"...you shitheads, come at the meeting room, we need to talk about something...something you'll have fun killing...i have some kids for you guys need to kill...immediately!".
