Boom!
The spherical black cloud, brimming with endless thunder and seemingly capable of destroying the world, shattered in an instant.
The exposed thunder dissipated into the atmosphere, consumed by flames.
A second sun pierced the sky, rising slowly.
In his despair, Enel was swallowed whole by the fiery orb that shone like the sun.
——
Angel Island.
"Mom, look! There are two suns in the sky!" a child from Angel Island said, pointing innocently at the sky.
But the child's mother remained silent, her gaze fixed upward along with the rest of Angel Island's inhabitants.
At that moment, there appeared to be two suns in the sky.
"This... this..." McKinley stammered, his face filled with horror as he stared at the second sun.
Moments ago, a terrifying thundercloud had spread from the direction of the Holy Land, Upper Yard. Several bolts of lightning had even struck near Angel Island. McKinley recognized this power all too well—it was Enel's.
Conis and the man from the Blue Sea, Ace, were really confronting Enel head-on.
As McKinley looked at the thunderclouds that seemed capable of obliterating the world, he couldn't help but feel despair.
Could such a power really be defeated by any human? Enel controlled the power of thunder itself!
But then, McKinley was stunned.
The sky, once filled with stormy thunderclouds, had transformed into burning clouds of fire.
McKinley swore he had never imagined in his life that clouds could burn.
Upper Yard had turned into a sea of flames.
Then, a colossal, jet-black cloud emerged, threatening to engulf Angel Island. The thunder flashing within its surface filled McKinley with terror, despite the distance.
But before he could fully comprehend the situation, a second sun rose.
With its ascent, the spherical thundercloud—seemingly capable of ending the world—shattered without resistance.
In Upper Yard, the thunder had vanished, leaving only the second sun, slowly rising into the sky.
——
"Did we... win?" McKinley's eyes lit up with excitement.
Had the Blue Sea man, Ace, really defeated Enel?!
"Conis."
Conis' father, Pagaya, looked at the rising sun in the sky and smiled.
It was true. They had won.
Angel Island had hope once again!
——
Whoosh!
The fireball, radiating astonishing heat, distorted the atmosphere as it climbed into the sky. It stopped at a certain height, suspended like a second sun.
Buzz!
In Ace's eyes, the flames flickered and then subsided.
"With your Heaven defying understanding, you've mastered the awakened power of the Mera-Mera Fruit, fully controlling natural elements of fire and perfectly transforming natural elements!"
Ace waved his hand, and the sun-like fireball broke apart.
It transformed into clouds, into leaves, into earth, into stone.
The flames reverted back to their original natural forms, from before they were ignited by the power of the Mera-Mera Fruit.
The burning sky, the flaming earth, the forests and rocks that had become an inferno—all gradually returned to their normal state.
Only the lingering heat in the atmosphere remained as evidence of the incredible events that had unfolded.
Ace's fiery gaze gradually softened.
With his mastery over the Mera-Mera Fruit, Ace could alter the climate at will—he could turn any place into a land of eternal fire. But with the same mastery, he could return everything to normal, effortlessly.
This was the absolute control he had over the Mera-Mera Fruit's power.
——
Thud!
High in the sky, a charred body plummeted to the ground.
Whoosh!
Ace, standing amidst the flames, gazed down.
"I did leave you intact, Enel," Ace said, looking at Enel's scorched body.
Even in his Thunder God form, where his body was composed of lightning, Enel hadn't been vaporized instantly by Ace's attack.
But not even the Thunder Fruit's electrical stimulation could preserve Enel's life. He was dead.
——
"Ace!"
From a distance, Nami and the other girls ran toward Ace, their faces beaming with joy.
Ace, already pleased with his victory and mastery over the Mera-Mera Fruit, smiled even brighter as the girls approached.
With blushing cheeks, they threw themselves into Ace's arms one after the other—Nami, Kaya, Vivi, and Nojiko.
Even Tashigi, after being playfully nudged by Nami, joined in with a flushed face.
——
"Thank you, Ace."
Robin's voice was soft, her lips curling into a gentle smile.
She had heard what Ace said—that he wouldn't let Enel continue his rampage, because his historian wanted to uncover the history of this place.
"Isn't it a captain's duty to protect the dreams of his crew?" Ace replied, gently brushing Robin's long, black hair.
"Please take care of me in the future, Captain," Robin said, her face glowing with genuine warmth.
Her smile was more beautiful than any flower.
The other girls looked at Robin, sharing knowing smiles. They realized that Robin had finally, truly, joined the Entei Pirates.
——
Conis' face was slightly red, and she stood a little dazed. She had joined Ace's crew as well—did that mean she should hug him too?
Raki, on the other hand, looked at Ace and the other girls, feeling a hint of envy.
——
Meanwhile, Wyper and the others watched from a distance, their hearts conflicted.
They had once believed in sacrificing anything, even their companions, to light the lamp of Sandora. But now, after witnessing this battle, they questioned the worth of their struggle. Would continuing their war with Angel Island even make sense anymore?
Ace, who now had a closer relationship with Angel Island, could reduce them all to ashes with just a wave of his hand. Fortunately, Raki was there to keep things in balance.
The others exchanged glances, feeling the weight of everything they had seen.
——
"Enel is... dead?"
A trembling voice broke the silence.
Gan Fall looked at Enel's charred, lifeless body and trembled.
The one who had defeated him and his divine forces in a single day—the incarnation of thunder—was really dead?
"He should be meeting Yama right now," Ace replied with a gentle smile.
——
Gan Fall collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down his face as he muttered in disbelief.
Wyper, Braham, and the others stood nearby, their expressions a mixture of confusion and exhaustion.
Enel had been killed—by a man from the Blue Sea. What should they do now? Was there any point in continuing their war?
——
"Actually, we should thank you," Gan Fall said, his voice trembling as he bowed deeply to Ace. "Not only for defeating Enel, but for saving both Angel Island and Upper Yard."
But Ace raised his hand slightly, preventing Gan Fall from completing his bow.
"I didn't do this for you," Ace said with a light smile.
"I did it for my crew—my navigator, my historian, my musician, and my cook."
Ace glanced at Nami, Robin, Conis, and Raki.
Nami gave him a sweet smile, while Robin's mature and lovely face lit up with her own smile.
Conis blushed prettily, wanting to embrace Ace as the others had, but still feeling shy with so many people around.
Raki, too, felt her heart flutter, her wild and beautiful face blushing slightly, as she didn't object to Ace calling her his chef.
"Nami, bring it out. Hunting down the Thunder Fruit is the final step," Ace said, glancing at her.
"Got it!"
Nami's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she pulled out a pineapple and placed it beside Enel's charred body.
"Come to daddy, Thunder Fruit."
Ace's right hand emitted a strange light, enveloping the pineapple completely. His eyes gleamed with hope.
The Thunder Fruit—the very Devil Fruit that Oda once said would suit Nami best. If she consumed it, she would become the second strongest in the Straw Hat crew, according to the original series. With her natural abilities, combined with her newfound power, Nami would undoubtedly rise to an Admiral-level powerhouse in the future.
"Buzz!"
The air hummed with energy as mysterious waves pulsed, leaving Ganfuer and the others in awe—they had never seen anything like this before.
The pineapple began to transform. Soon, a fruit wrapped in crackling thunder and engraved with swirling patterns appeared before them.
"Thunder Fruit!"
Nami stared at the fruit in wonder, excitement filling her bright eyes.
"I told you I wouldn't break my promise, didn't I? My navigator," Ace said warmly, holding the fruit out to her.
Suddenly, Ace felt a soft warmth on the corner of his mouth—a kiss.
"This is my thank-you kiss," Nami whispered, her long eyelashes fluttering. Her eyes glistened with emotion, and her cheeks turned a rosy red.
Shy but bold, Nami gazed straight into Ace's eyes. Her mind drifted back to when Ace had promised her a Devil Fruit worth more than three billion bellies. Now, here it was.
It seems like I really am destined to be your navigator, she thought, her heart swelling with affection.
Kaya, Vivi, and Nojiko watched Nami in disbelief, covering their lips in surprise.
"Nami's always the bold one," they thought, exchanging knowing glances. But now, after she took the first step, they began to wonder: could they follow her lead and take their relationship with Ace further?
Tashigi stood in stunned silence, her cheeks flushed as she watched the scene unfold. Her hand instinctively touched the good-luck charm Ace had given her. Should she… follow Nami's example?
Meanwhile, Robin smiled knowingly, her eyes gleaming with amusement. Raki and Conis exchanged looks, their faces growing hot. Did they need to thank Ace for saving them and their home, too? The thought made their hearts race.
"Eat it, Nami. This Devil Fruit is for you," Ace said, gently running his fingers through her long orange hair, which she had grown out since he had once mentioned he preferred it that way.
"Okay!"
Nami nodded firmly, her determination evident as she gazed down at the Thunder Fruit.
Without hesitation, she took a bite.
"Gah! Ugh!"
The taste was horrid, causing her face to scrunch up in distaste. But despite the awful flavor, her heart brimmed with joy—this fruit had been prepared just for her, by Ace.
Suddenly, the sound of cracking thunder filled the air as Nami's body began to emit intense flashes of electricity.
"Nami, be careful—!" Vivi started to say but froze mid-sentence.
"Wow… so this is what it feels like to become lightning itself," Nami murmured, her face lighting up with joy. Lightning danced at her fingertips, perfectly controlled.
"She's mastering it already!" Vivi exclaimed, her eyes wide with amazement.
"Well, Nami's always had a natural talent for sensing the weather," Nojiko said, trying to comfort Vivi.
"Nami, try using the Power of Thunder," Ace instructed, his voice calm.
Nami raised her weather stick, channeling the thunder through it.
"Thirty million volts—Thunderbird!"
With a deafening roar, a massive bolt of lightning shot out, forming into a majestic bird of thunder. It let out a piercing cry, soaring into the sky. The next moment, the bird exploded in a brilliant display, vaporizing clouds for miles around.
"It's so powerful! No wonder the Thunder Fruit is legendary," Robin said, her voice filled with awe as she watched the spectacle unfold. Thunder Fruit was truly one of the most formidable Logia-type Devil Fruits.
After consuming the Thunder Fruit, Nami would undoubtedly become the strongest among them, second only to Ace himself.
"As expected of my navigator," Ace said with a proud smile, watching Nami effortlessly command the thunder. Even without relying on his field of comprehension, she seemed to grasp its power instinctively.
No wonder Oda had said the Thunder Fruit suited her so well. With her natural affinity for weather patterns, Nami's strength would grow rapidly from here on. There was no doubt in his mind—Nami would soon become the second strongest member of the Entei Pirates!
"It's hard to believe Enel gained his power just by eating that fruit," Gan Fall muttered, watching Nami's newfound abilities with disbelief. "Could anyone who eats that fruit become like him?"
"No," Robin said with a knowing smile. "Nami will become much stronger than Enel ever was."
After all, Ace was by her side.
"Ace, my weather stick can't handle all this Thunder Fruit power," Nami said with a playful pout, hugging Ace's arm.
"When we get to the next island, I'll have someone upgrade it for you," Ace said, chuckling as he stroked her long hair.
"Okay!"
Nami's face lit up with a sweet smile, her eyes shining with happiness.
Ace then turned to Robin, a familiar glint in his eyes. Robin smiled back at him, already understanding what was on his mind.
