Kapitel 7: Lake Baikal, taken!

The people around witnessed Ruby.Lee's actions. The look in their eyes was not only one of surprise but also deeper contempt. In their view, someone like Ruby.Lee, who came from a poor background, seemed doomed to be associated with violence and crime, as if such a stereotype was deeply ingrained.

Ruby.Lee could hear the sarcastic remarks of the people around him, but the corners of his mouth turned up slightly, and an unprecedented determination welled up in his heart. Today, he was going to show these people his power.

His body had undergone special training, and his movements were swift and accurate. Each strike was accompanied by a crisp sound, as if he was announcing his existence to the world.

"Slap!"

A precise left front kick!

"Slap!"

A powerful right roundhouse kick!

"Slap!" "Slap!" "Slap!"

100 rapid slaps!

His movements were so smooth that those so-called upper-class people who had been mocking him just a moment ago now could only lie on the ground, moaning in pain.

"Oh, my elbow..."

"Oh, my knee..."

"Oh, my back..."

"Oh, my newly done plastic surgery. It's all ruined now..."

"Country bumpkin, you're attacking by surprise. You have no sense of martial ethics!"

Ruby.Lee snorted coldly. His gaze was like a cold wind in winter, making people shudder.

"Who else is not convinced? Stand up!"

His pet Little Black also stood beside him, growling menacingly at the crowd.

Those so-called wealthy people could only be angry but dared not say a word. Ruby.Lee's speed and strength made them fearful. Their nature was to bully the weak and fear the strong. Facing a strong opponent, they didn't even have the courage to resist.

"Wow, this guy is really tough. He even dares to deal with these people."

"It's so satisfying. We usually have to endure the anger of these people. Now it's good."

"Look at that woman. She poured a cup of boiling water on me this morning just because I was a bit slow in registration. Now look at her lying on the ground. She deserves it."

The hotel waiters huddled behind the front desk, whispering among themselves, feeling a strange sense of pleasure at Ruby.Lee's actions.

Suddenly, a rapid sound of footsteps broke the tense atmosphere. A team of law enforcement officers rushed in, their guns pointed at Ruby.Lee.

They had received a call reporting that someone was attacking people in the hotel and had injured many. The superiors took it very seriously and immediately dispatched two teams of law enforcement officers.

As soon as they entered the door, they saw the people in pain all over the floor and immediately drew their guns and pointed them at Ruby.Lee.

Those people who had been moaning on the ground just a moment ago, seeing the arrival of the law enforcement officers, immediately perked up and ran behind the officers, pointing at Ruby.Lee and cursing viciously.

"Country bumpkin, you dare to hit people. I'll make you pay the price!"

"Haha, kid, do you dare to resist arrest?"

"Come over and kneel down and beg for mercy. Maybe we'll consider letting you go!"

"Kid, are you scared? Arrogance comes at a price!"

...

However, Ruby.Lee's face showed no sign of fear. Now that he had strength and confidence, these people couldn't stop him. Anyway, the incident had already happened. He decided to hide for a while. When the apocalyptic world came, everything would be reshuffled.

"Captain, it's him, Ruby.Lee!"

"The day before yesterday, someone reported that a Ruby.Lee robbed and injured people. This person is the same as in the photo. There's no mistake..."

A team member recognized Ruby.Lee and immediately took out his phone and found Ruby.Lee's photo.

The captain's expression became even more solemn. He knew that he must arrest Ruby.Lee today.

"Go, arrest him!"

"This guy is a robber. He's very dangerous!"

"Everyone, be careful!"

The captain shouted, and everyone immediately tensed up and got ready to act.

Ruby.Lee sneered, picked up Little Black, and in a flash, he appeared behind the law enforcement team and launched another series of rapid and accurate strikes.

Apart from the law enforcement team, those wealthy people who had been shouting just a moment ago were lying on the ground again, and the entire hotel lobby was filled with screams.

Ruby.Lee hit even harder this time. These people would have to stay in the hospital for a long time.

He knew that when the apocalyptic world came, these people would surely be among the first to encounter misfortune.

After finishing all this, Ruby.Lee quickly left the hotel, settled Little Black in the previous dog kennel, and then headed for the nearest airport.

"Headquarters, headquarters. An extremely dangerous individual has been discovered and has fled. Request support. Request support!"

The captain immediately took out his walkie-talkie and started calling, but they definitely couldn't catch Ruby.Lee.

Ruby.Lee was very fast and had extremely strong physical fitness. He knew that he wouldn't be caught.

"Wang Jian, that guy, dared to set me up. I was wondering why I got a whole month's salary after working for only three days. So, he was waiting for me here."

"It seems that I haven't beaten him into submission yet."

"Just wait. I'll deal with you properly in the future. There are only 27 days left..."

At this moment, Ruby.Lee was hiding in the landing gear of an airplane, with the destination - Lake Baikal.

He had planned it long ago. After the apocalypse, the whole world would be frozen, and water resources would become extremely scarce. He had originally planned to buy a lot of mineral water, find a reservoir, and store all the water in his space. But when he thought of Lake Baikal, he changed his mind.

Lake Baikal, the North Sea in the history books of H Country, had the largest freshwater reserves in the world. Moreover, it was sparsely populated, unpolluted, and had excellent water quality.

He knew that he couldn't take a normal flight after hitting people, but his physical strength was sufficient to handle any danger.

Lake Baikal was only a little over 3,000 kilometers away from Huahai City. He remembered that Su Wu had herded sheep there, so the distance was not far.

Two and a half hours later, the plane landed steadily. Ruby.Lee opened the navigation and found that it was only 300 kilometers away. For him, it was a piece of cake.

He rented an off-road vehicle and set off. Two and a half hours later, night fell, and Ruby.Lee finally arrived at the shore of Lake Baikal.

The endless lake surface, shining with a silver light under the moonlight, was magnificent and peaceful. The cool breeze blowing from the lake gently brushed Ruby.Lee's hair. The waves lapped against the shore again and again, making a pleasant sound of the tide.

"It's mine, all mine!"

"Well, I'm just taking back what belongs to my family. It's not stealing..."

Ruby.Lee concentrated his mind, and his thoughts rushed into the space.

"Absorb!"

Ruby.Lee shouted in a low voice.

In less than two seconds, the entire water of Lake Baikal, including the fish in it, was in Ruby.Lee's space.

Ruby.Lee stood on the shore of Lake Baikal, staring dumbfounded at the once shimmering lake that now lay before him as nothing but a dry lake bed. His spatial ability had once again exceeded his imagination. To think that he could absorb such an enormous amount of water into it within just two seconds was truly astonishing.

He couldn't help but exclaim in his heart, "This is incredible. The power of this space is far beyond what I expected."

Lake Baikal, a freshwater treasure trove with a water storage capacity of 23.6 trillion cubic meters, enough to supply 5 billion people with drinking water for half a century, accounting for 20% of the world's freshwater reserves and being the largest freshwater lake on Earth. And now, it had become a pale blue water sphere suspended in Ruby.Lee's space, with fish swimming freely inside, like a gigantic aquarium.

Ruby.Lee tried to interact with the space. With a gentle wave of his left hand, clear water gushed out along his palm; when he reached out with his right hand, a live, wriggling big fish landed on the ground. He realized that this space could not only store items but also maintain the vitality of living beings, which was undoubtedly a huge advantage.

However, he also became aware of a problem: What about the preservation effect of the space? If it couldn't keep things fresh for a long time, then he wouldn't be able to store fresh ingredients and would have to rely solely on packaged foods. And packaged foods all had an expiration date. Facing a possible catastrophe that could last for decades, he couldn't help but worry about his future life.

"I have to verify this as soon as possible," Ruby.Lee made up his mind.

He picked up the big fish on the ground and, with a gentle wave of his hand, sent it into the space. Then, he decided to take a rest. After all, it was already 2:30 in the morning, and the body was the capital of revolution.

At noon the next day, Ruby.Lee woke up in the car. Without a passport, he couldn't stay in a hotel, so he had to make do in the car for the night. Curiously, he opened his phone to check the news and found that the disappearance of Lake Baikal had already drawn global attention. All kinds of absurd speculations and conspiracy theories were flooding the headlines.

He shook his head, feeling helpless about these baseless rumors. However, a piece of news about abnormal activities on the surface of the sun caught his attention. Scientists believed it was just a normal variation of the sun, but Ruby.Lee knew that this change was no small matter. It would cause the sun to enter a period of decline, and the Earth's temperature would plummet.

The comments from netizens were all kinds of things. Some were looking forward to a cool summer, some were worried about water resources, and some were just joking. Ruby.Lee chuckled, knowing that they hadn't realized the seriousness of the problem yet.

He had no intention of stepping forward to warn the world because he knew that no one would believe him. He decided to respect the fates of others and continue on his own path.

Ruby.Lee got out of the car and looked at the chaotic scene on the shore of Lake Baikal: journalists, online influencers, crying residents, angry tourists... A sense of inexplicable satisfaction welled up in his heart, and then he drove away.

He sang loudly, enjoying the thrill of flying freely.

Ruby.Lee had no intention of returning the rented car. He was driving towards a nearby oil field. The problem of water resources had been solved. Now he needed to solve the problem of energy. Gasoline was essential in the apocalyptic world. It could be used for heating and generating electricity.

He imagined people shivering in the apocalyptic world and decided to "bathe" them with gasoline and then set it on fire to "warm" them up. He laughed at himself, thinking that he was really a kind-hearted person.

"Those owners of mine, you're lucky to have me..." Ruby.Lee gloated to himself.
