Kapitel 17: ELLA KNOWS IT ALL

The warm afternoon air hit us as we stepped out of Ella's car, a few blocks away from the restaurant. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows on the pavement, while the street bustled around us.

"Did you finish that essay Professor Gray gave us?" Ella asked, locking the car with a soft click.

"Not yet," I replied, adjusting the strap of my bag. "But I'll get it done once I'm home. Monday mornings are always a nightmare."

"You don't say," Ella muttered, rolling her eyes. "The workload for this final year is insane. It's like they think we don't have lives outside their classrooms."

"I know, right?" I said with a scoff. "Barely enough time to breathe, and when you do, it's straight back to the grind."

"Speaking of which," Ella added, lowering her voice slightly, "Just don't forget to send me what you've got. I need to run my analysis."

I stopped walking, eyeing her curiously.
