Vera was momentarily dazed, as it was Mia who dominated the entire conversation.

The chat history appeared particularly aloof until the very end when Ryan finally typed a few words: "Thank you. Vera is in school; I hope you can take good care of her. If there's anything difficult to express, please let me know. If money is tight, feel free to tell me."

"Brother-in-law, you're so serious..."

"Stupid brother-in-law, ahhh, I'm so jealous I could die."

"Vera once said you're a taciturn weirdo. Why are you being so considerate toward her? Brother-in-law, please say a few more words. I want to chat with you."

The reply Vera saw was extremely serious: "Sorry, it's time to sleep now."

"Brother-in-law, what's with sleeping? Can't you just have a proper chat with me?"

"You must have ulterior motives for my sister-in-law. Stop playing dumb here."
