The moon was high, its faded light producing strange shadows as Aveline walked through the heavy forest near the border. A narrow opening was hidden among the rocks, just wide enough for her to squeeze through.

The large cave stretched out before her, lighted up by the minimal glow of swamp showing onto the walls. Symbols were drawn into the stone, crescents, daggers, and other unfamiliar markings. Maps of both packs' territories were scattered across a stone table in the center, their edges were worn and rugged.
