Teacher Shizuka Marikawa, it's great that you're okay. Come with me to see Captain Jean quickly.
A female student pulled the confused-looking teacher, with her long hair and large chest, and led her towards Captain Jean.
"Marikawa-sensei: "Huh? Captain Jean? Is she the president of some club?"
"No, Teacher Marikawa, just follow me first. All the dead bodies outside have been taken care of, and it's safe now."
In less than an hour, over 300 students had been rescued, and the students who had obtained the Silver Sword and Wind Blessing also cleared away all the dead bodies in the school.
After the dead bodies were dealt with, Jean stopped her abilities. Supporting hundreds of people simultaneously was a massive energy drain. Even though she could sustain it for some time, the situation was now under control, so there was no need to continue.
All the students and teachers gathered in the teaching building, relieved to have survived.
"Great! We made it!"
"Thank you so much for saving us."
"What's going on, though? Are you the legendary exorcists hidden in plain sight?"
"No, we don't have any special powers. These were given to us temporarily by Captain Jean."
"Who is this Captain Jean? Is she the president of a club at our school?"
"Can we be like you guys?"
"Quiet down, everyone!" Just as the surviving classmates were expressing their thanks and asking questions, Koichi Shidou adjusted his glasses and stepped forward.
"Students, let me, your teacher, speak on your behalf," Shidou said. "First of all, thank you for saving everyone." He looked toward Jean and continued. "We all saw that you possess incredible power. Now that we're facing the end of the world, more people need to survive. How about you share this power so everyone has the ability to protect themselves?"
The eyes behind Koichi Shidou's glasses glinted with a hint of malice as he gestured to the students behind him. "Do you all agree with me?"
Before the students could respond to Shidou's words, a blue wind enveloped him.
"Huh? Shidou-sensei? What's going on?"
Koichi Shidou was initially stunned but soon began to laugh excitedly. "Have I gained that power as well? Hahaha!"
At that moment, Jean's followers quickly made way for her, shouting fervently.
"Captain Jean!"
"Captain Jean!"
The survivors turned to look, and they saw a woman who looked like King Arthur from an anime—a heroic figure with a stunningly beautiful face. She wore a knight's uniform, similar to those seen in fantasy stories, and held a glowing holy sword.
Her appearance was unlike anything from their world, leaving everyone stunned.
"Captain Jean? So that's Captain Jean!"
"She looks like King Arthur!"
"A hero from another world!"
Koichi Shidou was left speechless.
Jean glared at Shidou coldly. The information she had received painted this teacher as a manipulative and twisted individual.
"It's not that you've received the gods' protection. It's the wind identifying you as an evil person," Jean said. "The flowing wind will force an evil person to reveal their true thoughts, letting everyone hear the truth."
Just as she finished speaking, Shidou's inner thoughts were amplified by the wind for everyone to hear.
'Hahaha, the world as we know it has ended—it's the apocalypse, and it's a paradise for someone like me. Those with power can do whatever they want. With my manipulative abilities, I could easily brainwash these students into doing whatever I want.'
'Who would have thought gods actually exist, favoring only the so-called kind? What nonsense.'
'If I could obtain this power, I'd do anything. I could manipulate and provoke the students to demand this power from Jean. With enough of them pressuring her, those with power are just students—they'll have no choice but to hand it over.'
Shidou's face turned pale as cold sweat formed on his forehead. He stepped back, terrified. Everything he had been thinking had somehow been pulled from his mind and exposed.
The disgust on the students' faces was evident as they looked at Shidou.
"This scumbag teacher tried to manipulate us."
"And he wanted to target Captain Jean?"
Shidou took another step back and shouted, "It's a lie! All of this is fake! I'm a teacher—how could I think this way?"
However, his thoughts continued to pour out, unbidden.
'Damn it! This woman named Captain Jean is a demon. I have to kill her!'
"Don't believe her!" Shidou shouted, pointing at Jean. "She's a witch!"
But the students' disgust only grew stronger. Their hatred for him was palpable.
"Who should we trust? Jean saved us, while Shidou only wanted to use us."
"Scumbag!"
"Kill him!"
"He's a monster!"
"How dare he plot against Captain Jean!"
Under the fervent cries of Captain Jean's followers, the students shouted angrily, their fury overwhelming Koichi Shidou.
"Witch! You're a witch!" Shidou screamed, pointing at Jean as he charged forward, believing she would be an easy target.
Before Shidou could close the distance, Rei Miyamoto rushed in, striking him with her sword. "You scumbag, Shidou! Go to hell!"
"Agh!" Shidou fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
Seeing this, Jean's followers rushed in to help. Each of them had already slain multiple zombies and had grown accustomed to killing—especially if it meant getting rid of evil like Shidou.
"Aghh..." Shidou's screams grew weaker until they finally ceased.
With Shidou dead, Jean turned her attention to the rest of the surviving students, who looked visibly shaken. She quickly transmitted information to them, and after a brief moment of daze, their eyes filled with devotion. They had become her followers.
Jean showed no sympathy for Shidou's death. She understood that letting someone like him live would only lead to harm for others. She took a deep breath and addressed the students.
"Listen, everyone!"
The students looked at Jean with adoration.
"Captain Jean!"
Jean stretched out her hand, and 'silver swords' appeared out of thin air in front of each of them. There were also several books containing spells—records of magic used by the apprentices of the Knights of Favonius.
"I hereby establish the 'Knights of Favonius.' You will be the first 'trainee knights.' I will now teach you the 'West Wind Swordsmanship' and some practical magic spells."
Saeko Busujima's eyes shone, and her face turned red with excitement.
The students cheered wildly. "Long live Captain Jean!"
Learning swordsmanship and magic that only existed in anime? They couldn't have been more excited.
