Kapitel 82: Chapter 82

At seven o'clock in the morning, the sun had risen.

After Lip kissed Mandy and Karen's foreheads, he gently got up. The two girls had become increasingly lethargic since early March.

Jimmy and Fiona had come over from next door early and started working on breakfast. Debbie had also been up for a while. As some parents who worked morning shifts dropped off their children at daycare, Debbie was busy as usual, being a primary school teacher.

Lip, on the other hand, grabbed his Garfield mug, filled it with coffee, and leisurely walked over to Kevin's house.

On one hand, he continued to discuss their small business with Kevin. On the other, of course, it was also to spend more time with Ethel.

Lip was eager to be with Ethel again. He had consulted the obstetrician and gynecologist, who advised waiting 4 to 6 months after pregnancy and until the fetus reached the "two, three, three" stage before engaging in intimate activities. It had only been two months, but Lip was nearly going crazy. He felt like if he had to wait that long, he'd explode.

Although the three girls used other unconventional methods to satisfy him during this time, it didn't address the root cause—it was just a temporary fix.

After a while, Lip arrived at the vegetable garden behind Kevin's house. He saw Ethel wearing a sun hat and focused on digging the soil. Lip admired her deeply.

As their communication grew more frequent, he noticed that Ethel began looking at him differently too.

"Ethel, you're amazing! Your garden is looking great!" Lip said as he approached her with his coffee.

Of course, he didn't forget to sneak a glance at her figure.

Ethel was wearing her usual outfit—a light blue dress with a yellow plaid apron on top. She looked better than ever.

Lip watched her bend over to hoe the soil, noticing how her curves had become more pronounced—her plump, perky buttocks, slender waist, and full breasts.

The weather wasn't cool to begin with, and the more Lip looked, the hotter he felt.

"Hehe, thank you, Pu, but I think it's the planting knowledge and fertilizers you shared. My live redworms are working overtime this year," Ethel said with a smile as she turned around to face Lip. "The Lord's gift will not be wasted!"

Lip nodded and smiled back at her, though his mind was racing. Did she mean that as a pun, or was she just being playful?

As Ethel returned to her work, Lip moved forward.

"Hi, Lip!" Kevin greeted him.

"Hey, Kevin."

"Well-informed college student, what's going on with the weather this year? It's only early March, but it's so hot!" Kevin said, wearing a black tank top and shorts, with a Marlboro in his mouth.

"Maybe it's a severe El Niño effect," Lip replied, glancing at Kevin.

"Oh, this damn El Niño!" Kevin muttered.

"Action tonight?" Lip asked. "Do you think that thing will still work?"

Kevin handed him a cigarette, then replied calmly, "Probably not, but you're here!"

"Uh-huh?"

"You can think of anything with your brain and fix anything with your hands! I'm not worried at all!"

Lip hadn't smoked in a while, especially since he was thinking about the health of his wife and children. He took Kevin's lighter and lit it skillfully.

"Hiss~"

"Phew~"

After exhaling, Lip said slowly, "You were born to be a boss!"

"Yeah!" Kevin said proudly.

"What are those big, round green things in the back?" Lip asked, pointing to something behind Ethel.

"Haha, genius, you don't know? That's a tomato!" Kevin laughed.

"Haha, so that's it!" Lip laughed.

"Ethel is so virtuous!" Lip remarked, watching Ethel's beautiful figure.

"I think so too, but this girl is too virtuous," Kevin replied.

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"Do you know? As soon as Wei and I get up, I can see her working non-stop. Doesn't it seem like she's our adopted daughter? She's basically a servant!" Kevin added with a chuckle.

"Yo, yo, yo! Look at how sly you are! Even though she's 'cheap,' she's still doing well!" Lip teased Kevin. "If you really care about your daughter, you should give her some time off and take her out to have fun!"

"I'd rather enjoy the comfortable life of a family of three! But hey, didn't you find me such a profitable business again? I'm free, you know!" Kevin laughed.

"Okay, okay, if you can make money, enjoy yourself!" Lip said, looking at Ethel's figure with a dazed expression.

"Okay, stop staring! You've got your eyes fixed on Ethel. If it doesn't work, just accept her! Veronica and I won't object," Kevin teased.

"Uh… don't you think Ethel is beautiful? Like a medieval oil painting?" Lip asked, still captivated.

"Like Lady Godiva on Horseback?" Kevin joked.

"Shut up! How would you, a bigot like you, know about that famous painting?" Lip teased back.

"Another fake decoration hanging in my house!" Kevin laughed.

"Alright, alright. Let's deal with that old guy first!" Kevin said.

"Okay," Lip replied.

Lip and Kevin set out on foot together, heading toward a wasteland behind a parking lot. They removed a large piece of old, stitched plastic sheeting to reveal an old-fashioned ice cream truck.

"Lip, look at this! It's still so charming!" Kevin said, excited.

"Yeah! But have you been tinkering with that stuff since last summer?" Lip asked.

"No," Kevin replied.

"How's the planting of that going?" Lip asked.

"Thanks to this damn weather, the temperature and sunlight are strong, so the harvest should be ready soon!" Kevin answered, carrying a large piece of car parts. "But I'm still a little worried."

"What's worrying you? Worried about making less money?"

"No, but since the weather warmed up, there seem to be more police officers in the park than last year!" Kevin said, his tone serious.

"Yes, I'm having my boys check it out," Lip said, opening the hood of the truck.

"Lip, I'm going to get the mice out of the freezer first!" Kevin said, picking one up excitedly.

"Hey guys, haven't seen you for a year—miss me?" Kevin grinned, tossing the mouse into the truck.

Lip shook his head and smiled at Kevin's bad taste before turning his attention to the machines and circuits in front of him, working carefully and seriously.
