Kapitel 11: Chapter 11: Supreme Martial Art - The Dark Fiend Soul Stealing Qi

With closed eyes, Lu Chengfeng continued sifting through the fragmented memories of Zhao Changzhen, searching for any useful details amidst the broken pieces of information.

"The Six Yang Consuming Yin Technique… it turns out Zhao Changzhen brought this secret art from his original sect. This technique allows him to absorb yin energy to bolster his internal cultivation, bypassing the need for numerous rare resources and years of arduous practice."

Much of Zhao Changzhen's rise to become an elder and establish his own peak could be attributed to the enhancements from this sinister technique. In these fragmented memories, Lu Chengfeng noticed that other infiltrators also practiced similar draining arts.

"So, these men set up a brothel in the city of Liangzhou outside Yun Cang Mountain, gathering beautiful women from the region."

"They used the women in that brothel to cultivate, draining them completely. Even if the women died, no one would notice or care about their disappearances."

Scenes of tragedy flashed in his mind from the memory fragments. Lu Chengfeng's heart grew colder. Zhao Changzhen and his associates had originally been ordinary talents, which was why they were dispatched as infiltrators. But with this evil art, they had drained countless women to death each year to advance their cultivation.

"Their hands are soaked in blood. They achieved elder status by sacrificing countless lives."

Fury simmered within Lu Chengfeng as he forced himself to go through the memories with a steady focus, intent on missing no details.

"So, they stumbled upon the Black Shark Hermit's treasure vault some time ago, but this led to a falling out among them. Distrustful of each other and afraid of drawing outside attention, they clashed briefly and then scattered."

"This means Zhao Changzhen's death likely ties back to these four people."

However, the identity of these four infiltrators wasn't fully clear from the fragments he had so far.

"One of them mentioned Canglong Peak in a conversation with Zhao Changzhen. Could it be Elder Xiao of Canglong Peak?"

He recalled Xue Dulong's hostility toward Bixiao Peak. Thinking back on it now, it seemed suspicious.

"It must be. At least one of those four must be an elder of Canglong Peak. But which one? Or… could it be all of them?"

Lu Chengfeng pondered this deeply, lost in thought until dawn. When he reached a specific memory, his heart clenched, his eyes narrowing in realization.

In that fragment, Zhao Changzhen had carefully memorized the Soul Shattering Claw technique before burning the original scroll to ashes.

"The night Zhao Changzhen was killed, an intruder searched his body and even rummaged through his quarters… clearly looking for the Soul Shattering Claw. It seems they didn't find it, but this may not be the end of it."

"A twenty-seven-stage martial art of perfection—such a rare skill would tempt the entire martial world. Especially if it ties into the Black Shark Hermit's treasure."

"Legend has it that the Black Shark Hermit's supreme technique was the Dark Fiend Soul Stealing Qi. Just a single breath of his black qi could instantly kill, and even the most skilled martial artists would be helpless against it."

"The Soul Shattering Claw may be linked to this supreme art, a connection to the Black Shark Hermit's abilities. Whoever was after it won't give up easily."

"The Yun Cang Sect has maintained its dominance in the region for thousands of years largely due to its own supreme art, the Great Five Elements Extermination Sword. If the Black Shark Hermit's technique reappears, it would shake the martial world to its core. Even the greatest sects would be unable to resist the allure of such a powerful martial art."

Lu Chengfeng furrowed his brows. He had thought that inheriting Zhao Changzhen's skills would allow him to establish himself securely in the sect, but Zhao Changzhen's death left a trail of hidden dangers. Even if he fully absorbed Zhao Changzhen's skills, one misstep could lead to disaster.

After all, whoever had killed Zhao Changzhen had done so effortlessly. Even with all of Zhao Changzhen's knowledge, Lu Chengfeng wasn't yet a match for such an opponent.

Drawing a deep breath, Lu Chengfeng concluded, "I'll need the support of the sect to face this danger; otherwise, my life will be constantly at risk."

"Outer peak elders don't have close ties to the sect—they're more like guest elders. To gain true protection, I must become an inner peak disciple."

With this realization, a sense of urgency settled within him.

By the time he looked up, the morning light was beginning to seep through. Fatigue finally overtook him after the last two intense days. Even with his inner strength, he felt the strain on his body.

He began circulating the Azure Sea and Sky Breathing Technique, his breathing rising and falling in a rhythmic pattern, like ocean waves.

Gradually, he felt as if he were soaking in a hot spring, his whole body immersed in warmth.

This internal cultivation technique didn't provide explosive combat power but instead harmonized one's essence, enhancing endurance, stamina, and vitality, even extending lifespan.

Internal mastery alone wouldn't grant immense combat prowess; against a highly trained martial artist, a pure internal practitioner could be easily killed. But when combined with external skills, it gave a considerable advantage in prolonged battles and accelerated skill development.

Lu Chengfeng's mastery of the Azure Sea and Sky Breathing Technique and the Bixiao Sword Manual, both high-level sect techniques, could eventually reach the twenty-fourth level. The two skills, one internal and one external, were designed to work together seamlessly, offering him unmatched insight into his practice.

Since receiving Zhao Changzhen's memories, his martial skills had advanced rapidly, reaching the eleventh level overnight.

However, his internal technique had only reached the seventh level. Internal cultivation required careful balance and focus—it wasn't something one could forcibly rush through rare treasures or sheer will alone.

While he had gained invaluable insights from Zhao Changzhen, even with all his acquired wisdom, further mastery would take time.

Absorbed in his internal cultivation, the dawn hours slipped by without notice.

At that moment, the woman beside him stirred, slowly opening her eyes. As she regained awareness, she realized that her hands were resting on Lu Chengfeng's arm, causing a blush to spread across her face.

Instinctively, Luo Suyi looked up to see if her husba

nd was awake, only to lock eyes with Lu Chengfeng's bright, star-like gaze.
