Kai stood in the cozy office, the faint scent of lavender lingering in the air. He looked at Leilani with a calm expression.
"I'd like to see the space," he said, his tone polite but with a quiet determination.
Hearing what Kai just said Leilani nodded, picking up the keys from her desk. "Follow me," she said, motioning for him to come along.
As they stepped outside, the Evening air was cool and crisp, the faint hum of crickets in the background. Leilani led him through a narrow pathway that opened into a surprisingly large yard, partially hidden by tall hedges. Two distinct buildings stood there—a smaller, single-unit apartment on one side and a larger family-style house on the other.
"This," Leilani gestured toward the smaller building, "is the self-contained apartment. Fully furnished, it has decent space. Perfect for someone staying alone."
Kai glanced at the exterior. It looked well-maintained, with fresh paint and a small porch.
