Although they were both newcomers, the battle was intense that night!
Wolverine's regenerative abilities faced off against Spider Totem, Super Serum, and the Extremis Virus—a combination with incredible endurance and charging power. Each attack left the other scrambling to recover, their strengths tested to the limit.
The opponent was cunning and continued to fight back as they recovered, but ultimately, Russell's combined abilities proved stronger. He emerged as the undisputed victor.
The next morning, while his defeated foe lay exhausted and still asleep, Russell was full of energy and already out gathering supplies. Over the course of three hours, he brought back an array of equipment: computers, servers, Arc reactors, mechanical parts, engines, alcohol, medicines, daily essentials, and more.
When Laura woke up and saw the stash, she was stunned.
"Did you rob someone?" she asked, wide-eyed. After living a life of scarcity for three years, she had never seen so many valuable items, especially the reactor—a highly coveted power source in this wasteland-like void.
While stabilizing the power supply and setting up the computer, Russell replied casually, "Captain Hydra tried to trick me, but I took him down, along with his teammates, Spider-Man and Iron Man. Their stash is mine now."
Laura's eyes widened in shock. She knew exactly who those villains were—infamous, ruthless, and feared. Yet Russell had defeated them without a trace, leaving her feeling unexpectedly proud.
She watched him for a moment and then said, "Russell, you're amazing."
Russell raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you realize that last night?"
Laura smirked. "That was a temporary truce. Let's have a rematch tonight!" With renewed energy from her night's rest, she was sure she'd win this time.
Two hours later, after another intense sparring session, Russell emerged drenched in sweat, victorious once again. Laura had put up an impressive fight, stronger than before, but in the end, the power of his Crucible Heart proved too overwhelming.
After a quick rinse, Russell went back to work. He stabilized the power, set up the server, and used magic vines learned from Baron Mordo to cover the house. From the outside, the mountain looked overgrown with vines, concealing any sign of the hidden home within. Satisfied, Russell planned to create a meditation room where he could practice magic, building on his natural aptitude.
As night fell, Russell tried not to disturb the resting Laura. He ate a quick meal and began experimenting with the Time Tablet. Tony Stark's advanced computer and its armor-enhanced computing power offered hope of cracking the tablet's locking program. Russell was confident the TVA's tech could be hacked with patience.
While the computer worked, Russell went over magical spells in his mind. Mordo's notes left him with three advanced spells to master: Astral Projection, Ixaron's Ice Vine, and Form of Archaon. The last was particularly powerful, enabling one to create numerous clones—a trick Doctor Strange once used against Thanos.
Just then, the computer beeped. It had identified the lock program on the Time Tablet but required more computing power to crack it.
"Insufficient computing power?" Russell muttered, searching through the pile of armor parts until he found a specialized GPU. Installing it increased the reactor's output, but a new message displayed on the screen: cracking would take three years!
"No way—it has to be faster than that."
Determined, Russell decided to visit the black market to hunt for more computing hardware. With teleportation magic and the Siren's flying ability, he was confident he could escape if any trouble arose.
