Kapitel 13: Chapter 13: The plan

Months passed, and Li Xinyue had been busy making progress on her plans. She had no intention of relying on anyone else to determine her future. Her goal is to build a leading entertainment company.

Sitting in her small but comfortable apartment, Xinyue worked on her laptop, typing out her ideas.

She planned to recruit talented actors and actresses, models, singers, and other professionals. But she knew that talent alone wouldn't be enough.

Xinyue (thinking): "To make this successful, I'll need the right team. Music composers, designers for clothes and jewelry, directors, producers, and managers. Everyone plays a role in this business."

Though she had many skills herself, writing music, directing, and designing fashion—she knew she couldn't do it all alone. Her past life as an assassin had given her various aliases and hidden talents, but now she wanted to focus on building something big.

She saved her notes and leaned back, satisfied with the plan she had mapped out. A smile played on her lips as she imagined her company becoming the talk of the industry.

"One step at a time. Soon, I'll make my mark."

Exhausted from hours of brainstorming, she decided to rest. She lay on the couch, closed her eyes, and let sleep take over.

The loud ringing of her phone woke her up abruptly. She groggily reached for it, her mind still half-asleep.

Xinyue (answering the call): "Hello?"

The voice on the other end was panicked. It was one of her contacts, someone she had trusted to scout for talent.

Contact: "Miss Li, there's a problem."

Xinyue sat up immediately, her sleepiness forgotten.

Xinyue: "What kind of problem?"

Contact: "Five of the people we planned to recruit just signed with another company. It's the Zhang Corporation's entertainment branch."

Xinyue frowned. The Zhang Corporation—her former family's company was a competitor she hadn't planned to face so soon.

Xinyue: "I see. Don't worry about it. I'll handle it."

She hung up, her mind already racing.

"So, they want to make things difficult for me. Fine. Let's see who's better at this game."

She quickly updated her plans, adding new strategies to deal with her adoptive family's interference. It was clear they weren't going to let her succeed without a fight.

The next morning, Xinyue decided it was time to take her plans to the next level. She dressed simply in a black shirt and shorts, not bothering to impress anyone with fancy clothes. Her destination was clear—Mu Zhenyu's company.

"If I want to secure resources and connections, I need to work with someone who knows how to play the business game. And who better than my husband?"

She grabbed her bag and headed out. By the time she reached Mu Corporation, her determination was stronger than ever.
