The sun rose over Mondstadt, its golden rays spilling across the freshly paved road leading to the New City. The sight filled Satoshi with both excitement and determination. The road was complete, and now, every passing day brought the New City closer to its future—a bustling metropolis of innovation and opportunity. The marketplace was to be the heart of it all, and today they would make serious headway in its construction.
Paimon floated beside Satoshi, munching on a croissant she had somehow acquired from the convenience store. "Satoshi, are you sure we need such a big marketplace? Paimon thinks this is going to take forever! And we haven't had a proper break in days!"
Satoshi smiled and gave Paimon a pat on the head. "The marketplace is the heart of a thriving city. It's where people will meet, trade, share stories, and form the connections that make a community strong. And besides, Paimon, we'll take a break soon—I promise. But first, we've got to lay the foundation."
Paimon sighed dramatically. "Fine, but Paimon wants extra treats once we're done!"
Satoshi laughed. "You got it. Extra treats for Paimon."
As they approached the marketplace construction site, Satoshi saw Lumine in the distance, giving instructions to some of the workers. She had a clipboard in her hands, and she moved with the same sense of purpose that Satoshi felt. He gave her a wave, and she smiled and waved back.
"Satoshi! Good morning! We've already got the materials lined up, but we could use a few more hands," Lumine said, her voice carrying above the noise of construction machines at work.
"I figured as much," Satoshi replied, glancing at the workers, some of whom were struggling to haul heavy beams into place. He pulled out his phone and dialed Kaeya. A moment later, the Cavalry Captain picked up.
"Satoshi, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Kaeya's voice was warm, with a hint of amusement.
"Hey, Kaeya. Think you could round up a few Knights to help out at the New City today? We need a few extra hands, especially with some heavy lifting."
Kaeya chuckled. "Always needing a helping hand, eh? Alright, I'll see who I can find. Besides, I've been looking for an excuse to come check out what you've got going on over there. Give me an hour or two, and we'll be there."
"Thanks, Kaeya. You're a lifesaver," Satoshi said, smiling as he hung up.

As the morning wore on, more and more people gathered at the construction site. Workers, sailors, and even some curious volunteers from Mondstadt showed up to lend a hand. Beidou had taken a break from the road to Liyue, her booming laughter heard above the sounds of hammers and machinery.
"Alright, where do you need me, boss?" she asked, striding up to Satoshi, her sleeves already rolled up and ready for action.
Satoshi chuckled. "You can help with the framework for the central plaza. We're getting the beams in place, and we need strong arms."
"Consider it done," Beidou said, clapping Satoshi on the back before heading over to where a few of her sailors were already working.
Paimon floated near Satoshi, eyes wide as she watched Beidou lift one of the massive beams with ease. "Wow, Paimon thinks Beidou could do this all by herself!"
"She might just be able to," Satoshi said, shaking his head in amusement. "But it's better when we work together."
The sound of approaching footsteps made Satoshi turn, and he smiled as he saw Kaeya leading a group of Knights of Favonius toward the site. Kaeya gave a two-fingered salute as he approached.
"We're here! And just in time, from the looks of it," Kaeya said, glancing around at the organized chaos of construction.
Satoshi nodded, relieved. "Thanks for coming, Kaeya. We need all the help we can get to get the central market area up and running."
Kaeya winked. "Consider it done, boss. You just point, and we'll get it done."
With the arrival of Kaeya and the Knights, progress picked up considerably. Under the combined strength of Beidou's sailors, the Knights of Favonius, and the construction workers, the skeleton of the marketplace began to rise. The beams went up, the framework took shape, and soon, the outline of what would one day be a bustling marketplace was visible against the horizon.

It was early afternoon when a small commotion broke out at the edge of the site. Satoshi turned to see Klee running towards him, her bright red outfit a flash of color amidst the earth tones of the construction. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and she was holding a small satchel.
"Satoshi! Satoshi! I brought some of my special bombs! Can I help today?" Klee asked, her face glowing with enthusiasm.
Satoshi blinked, exchanging a nervous glance with Lumine, who had walked up beside him. "Um, Klee... are those safe for the construction site?" he asked cautiously.
Klee nodded vigorously. "Jean said I could come and help, but only if I'm careful! I promise, no big booms unless you say so!"
Paimon giggled, floating closer to Klee. "Maybe Klee could use her bombs to help clear the debris? That way we can make space for the next phase!"
Satoshi thought for a moment and then nodded. "Alright, Klee. We could use your help clearing some of the rubble over there." He pointed to a pile of rocks and debris left over from earlier excavation work.
Klee's eyes lit up, and she saluted. "Yes, sir! I'll make it all go kaboom—carefully!"
With a determined look, Klee ran off to the rubble, carefully placing her small bombs in strategic locations. Satoshi watched as she worked, smiling at her enthusiasm. The explosion was smaller than he expected, just enough to break the larger rocks into manageable pieces without causing any damage to the nearby structures.
"Good job, Klee!" Satoshi called out, giving her a thumbs-up.
Klee beamed, running back to Satoshi. "Thank you, Satoshi! Klee loves to help!"
Beidou sauntered over, her arms crossed and a grin on her face. "Gotta say, kid, you've got quite the knack for this kind of work. If we had you on the road crew, we'd be in Liyue by now."
Klee giggled, clearly pleased by the praise. "If you need Klee, just call! I'll make everything go boom!"

By late afternoon, the central plaza of the marketplace was almost complete. The sun was dipping lower in the sky, and the workers were beginning to show signs of exhaustion, but the sight of the nearly finished plaza seemed to energize them. Satoshi stood back, admiring their work—it wasn't just a marketplace; it was the beginning of a community.
Kaeya walked over, wiping sweat from his brow, and stood next to Satoshi. "You know, I wasn't sure what to expect when you said you were building a New City. But this... this is something special, Satoshi. You've got people from all over Mondstadt here, working together. It's inspiring."
Satoshi nodded, his eyes fixed on the bustling activity around him. "It's not just me, Kaeya. It's everyone here. The system gave me the tools, but it's the people who are making this a reality. I think that's what's really special about it."
Kaeya smiled, his gaze softening. "Well, if anyone can pull off something like this, it's you. Just make sure you get some rest too, alright?"
Satoshi laughed. "I'll rest when the city is built."
Kaeya shook his head, still smiling. "Just don't overdo it, hero. We need you in one piece."

As the sun finally set, the workers gathered around a makeshift campfire near the plaza. They were tired, dirty, but undeniably proud of the progress they had made. Lumine handed out cups of water, and Beidou started telling stories of her adventures at sea, her booming laughter echoing across the site.
Paimon was sitting next to Klee, who was busy roasting marshmallows over the fire. "You did really well today, Klee. Paimon thinks you deserve extra marshmallows for all your hard work!"
Klee grinned, her cheeks already sticky with marshmallow. "Thank you, Paimon! Klee loves marshmallows almost as much as bombs!"
Mona had joined them as well, her cape wrapped around her like a blanket. She looked over at Satoshi, her expression thoughtful. "You know, Satoshi, this city is going to be more than just a place to live. It's going to be a beacon—a symbol of what people can achieve when they work together. I saw it in the stars, and now I see it here."
Satoshi smiled, his heart swelling with pride. "Thank you, Mona. That means a lot. I couldn't have done any of this without all of you."
Lumine raised her cup, her eyes shining in the firelight. "To the New City—and to the future we're building together."
"To the New City!" everyone echoed, their voices ringing out under the starry sky.
As the campfire crackled, and the workers relaxed, Satoshi felt a deep sense of fulfillment. The journey was far from over, and there were still many challenges ahead—like building the road to Liyue and creating an economy that could support the New City—but tonight, they had made progress. And progress, no matter how small, was worth celebrating.
He looked at his friends around the fire—Kaeya teasing Mona, Paimon and Klee giggling over marshmallows, Lumine and Beidou chatting animatedly—and he knew that, together, they could overcome anything. The New City was not just a construction project; it was the start of something far greater. It was hope, it was community, and it was the future.
"One step at a time," Satoshi whispered to himself, watching the flames dance. "We'll build this—together."
