Kapitel 93: Chapter 93: Everlasting Bond Through Lovesick Heartbroken Red

Ye Hao's eyes locked with Xue Qinghe's from across the room, both of their faces mirroring mutual shock.

For three long months, Xue Qinghe had not stopped searching for Ye Hao. Yet every lead had ended in disappointment, like trying to fish for a needle in the ocean.

Over time, Xue Qinghe had started to wonder if Ye Hao was... no longer alive.

Even the Spirit Hall had ceased its efforts to track down "Ye Ritian." The ripples Ye Hao's disappearance had caused across the continent slowly faded, but the memory of those three months loomed large.

"Xue... Brother Xue, long time no see." Ye Hao gave a sheepish smile.

Xue Qinghe's eyes glistened with moisture as a faint, bitter smile graced his lips. He stepped forward and pulled Ye Hao into a firm embrace.

"You brat! Next time you vanish, at least leave a note. Do you know what I've been through these past three months?"

Ye Hao froze for a moment, the tone catching him off guard. Why did this sound... off? Like a long-lost wife scolding her husband?

Suddenly, a cheeky voice broke the moment.

"Big Sis, your chest is so impressive. I can't breathe!"

Xue Qinghe: "!!!"

Startled, Xue Qinghe jumped back, staring at the red dog in Ye Hao's arms.

"Did... that dog just talk?"

Ye Hao was equally stunned. He whispered telepathically to the dog, "Xiao Hong, are you trying to expose everything?"

The red dog, Xiao Hong, chuckled. "Come on, this Big Sis is no ordinary person. She's using a soul bone to disguise herself. Regular people wouldn't notice, but I'm no regular dog. As Death God's companion, of course I saw through it. Don't tell me... you knew too?"

"Of course, I've known from the start," Ye Hao replied, rolling his eyes.

Trying to play it cool, Ye Hao scratched the dog's head and laughed awkwardly.

"Don't mind it, Brother Xue. This dog likes to joke around."

Xiao Hong wagged its tail innocently, putting on an exaggerated grin. "I was just kidding. Don't take me seriously."

Xue Qinghe's thoughts raced. Does he... know who I really am?

Her gaze shifted to the dog, suspicion mounting. A talking dog? Could it be a soul beast?

"This is Xiao Hong," Ye Hao explained. "It's a soul beast, and its age far exceeds 100,000 years. It's forgotten exactly how long it's lived."

Xiao Hong nodded smugly as if to confirm. "Does age really matter?"

"So, you vanished for three months... for this?" Xue Qinghe asked.

Ye Hao nodded. Were it not for the Death God's trials, he wouldn't have gone off-grid for so long.

Xue Qinghe eyed the red dog cautiously. The presence of a 100,000-year-old soul beast so close to Ye Hao, coupled with the dog's sly demeanor, heightened her unease. It seemed to see through everything, even secrets Xue Qinghe had taken great pains to hide.

Should she continue her disguise? Or reveal her true self to Ye Hao?

Before Xue Qinghe could decide, a brilliant red flower appeared before her. Its vibrant petals gleamed as if aflame, and its stem was rooted in a small stone base.

"Lovesick Heartbroken Red?" Ye Hao exclaimed, turning toward Xiao Hong.

"What are you up to now?"

Xiao Hong grinned mischievously. "This is my way of apologizing for earlier. Big Sis—no, Big Brother—this flower is for you."

Xue Qinghe's face darkened. She was now certain: this dog had seen through her disguise.

But the flower... it was breathtakingly beautiful. Knowing this dog's nature, it was no ordinary bloom.

"Ye Hao," Xiao Hong whispered telepathically, "Don't tell me you haven't noticed how extraordinary this Big Sis is?"

"That's irrelevant right now. Lovesick Heartbroken Red isn't just any herb—it's the king of flowers. It requires bonding to its owner through blood!" Ye Hao shot back telepathically.

"I know, I know. Watch this."

Before Ye Hao could react, Xiao Hong jabbed his finger, causing a drop of blood to fall onto the flower.

The Lovesick Heartbroken Red absorbed the blood instantly, its petals quivering slightly. Then, Xiao Hong carried the flower to Xue Qinghe, gesturing for him to repeat the process.

Though puzzled, Xue Qinghe mimicked Ye Hao's actions, pricking his finger.

As his blood touched the flower, it detached from its stone base and floated gently into his hand. Its crimson vines extended, one wrapping around Xue Qinghe's right hand and another curling around Ye Hao's left.

In that moment, an unexplainable connection formed between the two. Their heartbeats synchronized, echoing in each other's ears.

"Lovesick Heartbroken Red unites destined hearts, binding them for eternity." Xiao Hong laughed triumphantly before disappearing into the Death God's Heart.

Time seemed to freeze. Ye Hao and Xue Qinghe stared at one another, overwhelmed by the bizarre turn of events.

Xue Qinghe was the first to act, frantically trying to remove the vine. But even after it retracted, a ring of crimson tendrils remained on his right ring finger, forming a delicate ring.

Ye Hao looked down to see a similar ring on his left hand. The design was identical—adorned with a tiny red flower.

"What...?"

"What...?"

Both spoke at the same time.

"You go first."

"You go first."

"Fine, I'll go first."

"No, you go ahead."

They sighed in unison.

"Stupid dog!" Ye Hao cursed internally.

"You're welcome," Xiao Hong's voice teased in his mind.

"Welcome my foot! I should be thanking you for all this trouble!"

"Brother Xue," Ye Hao began cautiously, "Don't get the wrong idea. This dog… it loves to joke around. Its antics shouldn't be taken seriously."

He continued, "This flower isn't ordinary. Lovesick Heartbroken Red is the king of immortal herbs. It enhances soul power, can heal mortal wounds, and most importantly, it protects its master."

"It's that powerful?" Xue Qinghe's eyes lit up as he tightened his grip on the flower.

Suddenly, a panicked voice interrupted their conversation.

"Your Highness! There's trouble!"

A soldier hurried toward them, his expression frantic.

Xue Xing, who had been chatting with Dugubo nearby, frowned. "What's the matter? Can't you see I'm in the middle of a conversation with Sir Dugu Bo?"

The soldier stammered, "F-Fourth Prince… has been assaulted!"

Did the dog just forced the flower? Isn't the requirements for it to recognize master needs to think about the person they loves most? Hmmm
