Anabella tried to make that excuse in her mind, but her body betrayed her as it sank deeper into the mattress.

She wanted to blame her instincts and how her body relaxed when it sensed her friends' alpha pheromones. But Anabella knew the problem was not her friends but her body and instincts.

'This is bullshit! I should not be feeling like this, yet I cannot stop! What the hell is wrong with me? Please don't react and leak any pheromones. I have a kid with me.'

James's underdeveloped alpha scent was the only reason Anabella maintained any semblance of mental awareness. Otherwise, she was afraid that the combined pheromonal scent of Clair and Noah would make her body go into heat.
