Adam felt the warmth of his own breath against Sona, who rested delicately on his wrist, close to his face.
Though barely conscious, Sona began to feel uncomfortable, twitching slightly as his warm breath surrounded her tiny frame.
Gradually, she blinked her eyes open. Her golden, iridescent wings, previously folded around her body, spread wide, their ethereal shimmer catching the dim morning light.
She blinked a few more times, adjusting her gaze before fully focusing on Adam, whose face was close—too close.
In an instant, Sona's wings fluttered in a rapid motion, lifting her off Adam's wrist and pulling her a bit further back from his face.
With both hands covering her mouth, she turned slightly, her face pink with embarrassment. "Lord Adam, I told you—I get so embarrassed when you look at me like that while I'm sleeping. Were you… watching me?" Her voice came out soft yet laced with flustered frustration.
Realizing his actions, Adam felt a pang of guilt. He raised both hands in a gesture of surrender, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "I'm sorry, Sona. It's just… you looked so adorable. I couldn't resist," he admitted honestly.
Sona, though still slightly red-faced, slowly lowered her hands and turned to look at him, her expression softening. "There's no need to apologize, Lord Adam. It's just… I'm not used to being watched. That's why I reacted that way." She fluttered back to him, perching herself gently on his shoulder, though a slight blush still colored her cheeks.
Adam shook his head, trying to refocus. "Well, it's getting late. I need to get going," he said, shifting his thoughts back to his morning routine.
As he descended the stairs toward the dining room, he wondered, Let's see if my parents can see Sona or if she's only visible to me.
Upon reaching the dining room, Adam greeted his parents with a quick "Good morning!" before moving on, observing their expressions closely.
Neither his mother nor his father reacted to Sona's presence, confirming his suspicions—she remained invisible to others unless he willed her to be seen.

As Adam walked, he glanced at Sona, still perched comfortably on his shoulder. "You might want to be careful there, Sona. I'm about to start running," he warned.
With a confident smile, Sona spread her wings, lifting herself into the air beside him. "Don't worry, Lord Adam," she chirped, flitting playfully around his head. "I'll be right beside you the entire time."
With a slight nod, Adam activated his training routine. "Pratham, initiate today's schedule," he commanded, his tone focused.
Pratham's voice resonated in his earpiece, "Lord Adam, the first task of the day is a sprint to the park. Begin when ready."
Taking a steadying breath, Adam launched into a run, picking up speed quickly.
As he ran, he was surprised to find Sona effortlessly keeping pace beside him, her tiny wings beating rapidly as they generated a soft, shimmering trail behind her.
The sight was almost mesmerizing, though Adam quickly snapped his focus back to the path, unwilling to let himself be distracted.
Upon reaching the park, he continued with his exercises, going through his rigorous routine.
Throughout each push-up, sit-up, and stretch, Sona remained nearby, occasionally settling on his shoulder or flying close by, watching him intently.
Initially, her presence was somewhat distracting, but as the workout went on, he found himself adjusting, even beginning to enjoy her silent companionship.
Finally, after his meditation, Adam felt the refreshing calmness set in.
With Sona now settled comfortably on his shoulder, he made his way back home, the morning sun casting a warm glow over them.
---
Back at home, Adam entered the dining room for breakfast, where his parents were already seated, waiting for him.
As he sat down, Sona quietly left his shoulder, hovering over to the edge of the table where she could observe him as he started his meal. Adam's parents exchanged a curious glance as he occasionally glanced toward the empty space beside his plate.
"Lord Adam," Sona's voice resonated in his mind, "may I… have some, too?" Her voice carried a hopeful tone, and Adam nearly laughed at her polite request, surprised by the telepathic communication.
He mentally replied, "If you're able to read my mind, then I suppose telepathy isn't out of the question. Take anything you'd like from my plate, but be discreet. My parents can't see you, after all."
Sona nodded, offering him a playful salute. "As you wish, Lord Adam," she replied aloud, dipping her tiny hands toward a piece of food the moment she was certain his parents weren't watching.
Her dainty bites brought a slight smile to Adam's face, though he tried to suppress his amusement.
However, his mother, Rachel, noticed the subtle change in his expression. "Adam, why are you staring at… empty space?" she asked, her voice puzzled.
Snapping back to reality, Adam quickly diverted his attention. "Oh, nothing, Mom. Just… lost in thought." His father, Ricky, chuckled, watching him with a knowing look.
"So, son, have you decided what event you'll be joining for the sports festival?" his father asked.
Adam was reminded of the upcoming festival, and a sense of excitement washed over him.
He nodded, his eyes lighting up slightly. "I've already decided what I'll be competing in," he replied, pausing just enough to keep them guessing.
His mother clapped her hands in excitement. "Tell us! Which sport did you choose?"
With a teasing grin, Adam continued to eat his breakfast. "That's a secret. You'll have to wait and see for yourselves on the day of the festival."
Ricky laughed heartily, clearly intrigued. "I like that. Makes it all the more interesting," he said, returning to his breakfast as Rachel served him more.
Finishing his breakfast, Adam grabbed his bag, ready for school. Waving a quick goodbye to his parents, he headed out the door, Sona fluttering alongside him.
---
Outside, Sona immediately turned to him, her curiosity evident. "Lord Adam, from what I've learned from your memories, I'd love to know what game you'll be competing in for the festival," she said eagerly, her eyes wide with anticipation.
Adam paused mid-step, surprised. "Wait—I told you not to go through my mind unless I permitted it."
Sona hovered closer, looking slightly guilty but defiant. "But, Lord Adam, you gave me access to those memories when I didn't know anything about this world. You wanted me to learn, remember?" She folded her arms, clearly holding her ground.
Adam let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head in mild exasperation. "You're right. I did allow you to learn about this world. I guess I forgot that it would include those memories too."
Sona, feeling slightly victorious, flew up and settled onto his head as if it were her personal perch.
Adam raised an eyebrow, realizing what she was doing. "Sona, if you're going to nap on my head, I'll end up throwing you off," he warned, though his tone was more amused than serious.
Instantly, Sona darted from his head to his shoulder, looking indignant. "But, Lord Adam, I was just getting comfortable," she pouted.
Adam sighed, though a small smile tugged at his lips. She may be powerful, he thought, but she's also incredibly lazy.
With a resigned chuckle, he continued on his way to school, now accustomed to the small presence that flitted and fluttered around him like a mischievous little guardian.
