Kapitel 141: Chapter 141: Successful Rescue

With confirmation from the Federation fleet, Mello wasted no time. She promptly ended the call and issued her attack commands:

"Activate auto-targeting. Primary lock on enemy T4 mother ships, secondary lock on T3 mother ships. We'll launch in three waves. First wave: antimatter missiles. Second wave: proton torpedoes and concussion missiles. Third wave: kinetic beam missiles and pulse torpedoes!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

Mello's strategy was carefully planned. Using proton torpedoes and concussion missiles alone would have minimal impact on the mother ships, producing little more than smoke without real damage. However, starting with antimatter missiles would unleash annihilation energy, which had a conversion rate of 100%, far surpassing nuclear fusion's efficiency. This explosion could severely damage the mother ships, breaking through their defenses.

Additionally, the electromagnetic energy produced by the positive and negative charges would help neutralize the bio-magnetic field surrounding the mother ships, enabling clear communications.

"First wave, fire!"

At Mello's command, forty antimatter missiles launched and exploded in the heart of the swarm, disrupting the bio-shields of numerous mother ships.

"Second and third waves, fire at will!"

As the antimatter explosions cleared, the second and third waves followed. Without their bio-shields, the mother ships' organic armor couldn't withstand the T4 Scorpions' assault.

The insectoid fleet was composed of around six hundred T4 and T3 mother ships, along with the three thousand surrounding Z227. They were the main force of this invasion. After the Scorpions' triple bombardment, nearly a third of the mother ships were destroyed. The remaining four hundred were badly damaged and stripped of their bio-shields. Seizing this advantage, the Federation fleet commander gave the order to attack.

"All main and secondary guns, charge! Deploy all drones! It's time to fight back, everyone!"

The Federation fleet had just over three hundred T3 and T4 ships, mostly standard ships. They could potentially exhaust the insectoid fleet if they fought to the last, but that would leave thousands more to deal with. Defensive tactics had been their only option until now, but with the arrival of Feng Mo's fleet, hope surged.

Mello, seeing the success of the strike, requested permission from Feng Mo to return. With their ammunition depleted, the T4 Scorpions could only conduct reconnaissance and needed to resupply at the Northern Sky Gate Space Station. At their speed, a round trip with reloading would take under three hours.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Feng Mo, clad in his T4 Black Star combat armor, activated his leg thrusters and launched himself into the air. Holding a black warblade, he struck down a flying insectoid, its green blood splattering across his armor and dripping onto the ground below.

Feng Mo was typically found in his flagship's control room, overseeing fleet maneuvers. Apart from an assassination attempt by the New Humanity Church, he rarely engaged in direct combat. But this insectoid invasion was a perfect outlet for his tightly controlled energy—a way to unleash his inner demon without guilt. Killing insectoids didn't feel like killing; it was just a duty.

In mid-air, he evaded an insectoid's attack, his shoulder and back armor opening to reveal a barrage of micro-missiles. The onboard AI calculated trajectories, and hundreds of missiles launched, each targeting a specific insectoid.

"Boom, boom, boom!"

Explosions tore through the swarm, insectoids falling like rain. Feng Mo then landed at the center of the Federation forces' battle line.

Brandishing his giant sword, he activated his thrusters and dived back into the swarm. Using the sword as an axis, he carved a wide, deadly circle around him. His armor became drenched in green blood, and dismembered insectoid limbs lay scattered around him.

Meanwhile, the cadets on the Hurricane, watching via radar, gaped at Feng Mo's prowess. Only Gu Yanyan seemed uneasy, her gaze locked on the screen.

Seeing her concern, Han Peipei leaned in and reassured her, "Don't worry, Miss Gu. The commander is just letting off some steam. With his T4 combat armor, he could lie still, and the insectoids wouldn't even scratch him."

Hearing this, Gu Yanyan relaxed, murmuring to herself, "Brother Feng Mo… if he wanted to vent, he could've used Yanyan instead…" Realizing what she'd just said, her cheeks turned bright red.

Glancing around to make sure her peers were focused on the battlefield, Gu Yanyan breathed a sigh of relief.

Just then, a female cadet beside her, eyes sparkling with admiration as she watched Feng Mo, nudged Gu Yanyan.

"Yanyan, what's your relationship with him?"

Blushing, Gu Yanyan replied, "He's kind of my cousin. I lived with his family for three months when I was younger."

"Oh, so childhood friends? Do you have feelings for him? If not, would you mind introducing me? Or maybe… would you be okay with sharing?"

Han Peipei, overhearing, couldn't help but smile wryly. These young girls were even bolder in their talk than she'd been with her own friends back in the day.
