Kapitel 14: My Sister Wants to Be a Hero Too!

Norman Osborn, father to Harry and head of Osborn Corp., should have been more focused on expanding his empire. But an inherited illness drove him to desperate measures.

The Green Goblin serum and armor were his solution, yet they only worsened his condition, creating a split, evil personality... though Norman wasn't known for a saintly character, to begin with.

Recently, the emergence of Ghost-Spider gave him a new target. If he could obtain a sample of her blood, perhaps he could improve the Goblin serum. That's why he was now relentlessly pursuing Gwen.

"This little bug is too slippery. That lumbering Rhino can't catch her at all!" he sneered.

With a twisted smirk, the Green Goblin thought of a new strategy, hurling pumpkin bombs into the crowded streets below.

Ghost-Spider, don't you call yourself a hero? Let's see how many you can save!

"No!"

Gwen's eyes widened beneath her mask. She swung gracefully through the air, angling herself perfectly and shooting web after web to ensnare the bombs, flinging them safely upward with a strong flick. Fireworks exploded above, and the pedestrians below were spared—at least for now.

But her own crisis had begun. Distracted by saving others, Gwen hadn't latched onto the building with her web and was plummeting toward the ground.

Charging through the chaos, Rhino roared as he saw his chance, "I've got you now, bug! Time to squash!"

Gwen's heart pounded. She could dodge Rhino's charge, but with Green Goblin diving down from above, she could only evade one of them.

"Gwen's in trouble."

Floating midair, Evan was about to activate his wrist controls when he noticed a figure darting out of an alleyway. It was a woman with a metal mask, a black jacket over a simple white T-shirt, and skinny jeans. She moved faster than any regular person, calling out, "Ghost-Spider! I'm here to help!"

Evan felt a vein twitch in his forehead. Wasn't that his sister, Jessica? She'd told him she was too busy to come to the club tonight—and here she was, playing vigilante.

Jessica burst out of the alley and threw herself at Rhino, delivering a powerful shoulder slam that forced him backward, saving Gwen.

"Ouch!" She winced, rubbing her shoulder. Rhino's armor was tougher than she expected.

"Where'd this brat come from?" Rhino staggered, surprised by the strength in her small frame, which rivaled even Ghost-Spider's.

"Big guy, your opponent's right here!" Jessica called, giving Ghost-Spider a thumbs-up. "Spider, I'll handle the ground. You take the sky!"

Despite being new to this, Jessica was already dividing responsibilities. She couldn't reach the Green Goblin in the air, but she could handle Rhino. Unlike Evan, who could fly with his suit's modifications, Jessica still needed to develop that ability.

Gwen dodged another attack from Green Goblin and called back, "Got it!"

She glanced at Jessica, noting her lack of a formal suit but impressed by her strength against Rhino. Must be a new hero on the block.

"Kid, you've picked the wrong fight." Rhino raised a fist that could shatter concrete. "Name yourself—this is your last chance!"

"Ha!" Jessica pushed off a streetlamp with her foot and leapt high. Though she couldn't fly, her agility allowed her to jump impressively.

"I'm the Knightress, and I know how to handle big animals like you!"

She effortlessly evaded Rhino's fist and landed atop his head.

"Not so hard being a hero~"

But just as Jessica was basking in her triumph, she stumbled over Rhino's horns.

"Hey—hey!"

Losing her balance, she fell off Rhino, and her mask clattered to the ground.

Evan covered his face, unable to watch. Yep, that's Jessica.

After all, this was her first time battling a supervillain—mistakes were bound to happen.

"Jessica?"

Gwen's eyes widened as Jessica's mask fell away, revealing her face.

Caught off guard, Gwen didn't see Green Goblin zeroing in with his glider until it was too late. He rammed into her, and she barely managed to shield herself, but his glider's spikes scratched her arm, drawing blood.

Jessica, now unmasked and lying on the ground, found herself facing another onslaught from Rhino.

Evan didn't hesitate. He descended quickly, his Knight Spider suit materializing around him as he tapped his wrist controls.

The question of whom to save first didn't even arise.

[Vulture Wings—Engaged!]

Hearing a sudden whoosh above, Green Goblin looked up to see a set of large metal wings swooping toward him.

Snap!

The Vulture wings clamped onto him, wrapping around him as they plummeted to the ground together.
