Kapitel 56: WHEN THE TRUTH HURTS

ADRIANA'S POV

The memories of that horrid place kept replaying in my head, but I didn't feel scared; I felt safe.

I suddenly sat up, my breathing ragged as I looked around. I was back home, in Vincenzo's mansion.

Looking around me, I stiffened. Vincenzo wasn't here, I was alone in bed, and the sun was high up in the sky, already judging from the light that filtered in through the curtains.

The sound of footsteps sends me flinching, and I see Val at the doorway, relief flooding her features.

"Fuck, Adriana. You scared the shit out of me" She walked to the bed, her hair packed up in a ponytail and a sad look on her face that was barely noticeable.

"What happened?" I asked, my voice shaking as I swung my legs off the bed, my body shivering as soon as I put my feet on the floor.
