35% In Another World with a System from God / Chapter 7: Exp Grinding

Kapitel 7: Exp Grinding

Klyde was standing in the open field near the forest, holding his book on one hand and on the other, his arm was out. Both his blood sword and steel sword were stuck in the ground.

"Hold your hand out and imagine all the energy in your body flowing to your palm. Imagine a ball of fire forming in front of your hand." Klyde read. "Magic it this easy? Why isn't everyone mages then? Whatever."

Klyde closed his eyes and did as the book suggested. He could feel his energy leaving his body but is was slow and he couldn't tell if it was the magic working or his getting tired of standing.

After a while of standing there he felt a warm sensation on his palm. The sensation grew the longer he stood there. Then he heard the chirp of his system. He opened his eyes to see a small fireball in front of his palm and a pop up from the system.

«Status»

‹Mana: 90/110›

"Yes, I did it! I did it! How long was that, 10, 20 minutes?!" He regained his composure and held up the fireball. "It's pretty small though. It consumes 10 of my mana so I can't spam it, now how do I remove this or shoot it?

«Status»

‹Mana: 89/110›

"Wait, is this thing draining my mana?!" He wiggled his arm to extinguish it but to no evail. He looked at the book and scanned the page but there was no guide on how to remove it.

He slapped his hand on the book and it disappeared. "He's probably laughing at me, that bastard knew this would happen."

«Interstellar»

‹Heyyy, I'm not a bastard~. And I have other things to do then watch you, y'know›

‹But yes, I enjoyed that›

Klyde blinked as he read the pop up and looked a bit pissed but brushed it off.

He repeated what he did to try and make a fireball again, and this time it took less time.

«Status»

‹Mana: 80/110›

"80? Did my mana come back?" Klyde asked himself. "It took less time too. I haven't completed the quest though so I guess I gotta keep at it." Klyde then closed his eyes and imagined the fireball disappearing.

"There we go! Pretty easy if I do say so myself." Klyde then looked back at his book. "You can make the element whatever shape and sizeyou desire, at the cost of your mana of course. Some people are even able to make weapons with their elements. The power of your magic, not just elemental, is determined by the magic power you have. It can be increased by training your magic or using items, permanent or temporary boost. This will make casting magic faster, easier and use less mana."

"Make into any shape you say…" Klyde made another fireball, this time it was bigger. The fireball started morphing into a long staff.

«Status»

‹Mana: 60/110»

"Wait, is this safe to hold? Maybe I shouldn't…" The fire staff extinguished.

"I'm wasting a lot of my mana. Maybe I should try shooting this time. Maybe that will satisfy the quest." He said as he held out his hand again. A fireball formed and immediately shot out of his hand.

«Status»

‹Mana: 50/110›

"I barely had to wait this time. Guess my magic is getting better."

«Quest Complete»

‹ + 100Exp ›

‹ + Basic Staff (Item in inventory) ›

«Status»

‹Exp: 180/200›

"I'm getting close to leveling up again. I should get to level 3 or 4 at the end of this"

Klyde put away his book and took out his wand. The wand's handle was made out of wood and the top was 4 metal bars that bent to the center and a red gem inside.

«Stats»

‹Magic: 3(5)›

‹Mana: 11(10)›

He held the wand out in the air and scanned the it before using analysis on it.

«Analysis»

‹Name: Basic Wand›

‹Mana: +10›

‹Mana power: +5›

‹Durability: 1000/1000›

"Now I'm terrified to see how much Emily's staff boosts her." Klyde said as he looked at the Wand's stats. "I'll test it out when I'm in a fight."

He put the wand back in his inventory and pulled out his swords from the ground, putting the steel one in his inventory and set off into the forest.

He wondered the forest for 10 minutes paying close attention to his surroundings to not get ambushed by monster or person. He saw the same blue wolf that tried to kill him eating a corpse from a far.

He took out his wand and aimed it at the wolf.

He created a fireball the size of his head and shot it at the wolf. The fireball hit the wolf and exploded, killing it.

"Wow, I'm level 3 now. No extra rewards though. That fireball only took five mana and killed it instantly. I got 50 exp from it, guess it was stronger."

Klyde proceeded to wonder the forest, killing every frost wolf at sight and and making sure to collect any healing herbs he came across. He finally killed the rest of the 4 wolves, getting 40, 60, 50 and 60 Exp from the 4 kills completing his quest and he had also collected 2 healing herbs.

"It's been about an hour since I left, maybe I should go back. But at the same time, it's still early so maybe I should stay out here leveling up."He said as he allocated his stat points.

"This seems good enough, now back to hunting wolves." He said as he continued exploring the forest.

An hour and a half hand passed and he had killed 20 wolves and collected 7 more healing herbs, 9 in total. He found out that frost wolves tend to drop 40-80 exp, and he had gotten a total of 1060 exp, leveling him up to level 5. When he got to level 5 all his stats were boosted by 5. This made him think that every 5 levels leads to a boost in statpoints to accommodate for the increase in required Exp to level up.

Another thing he noticed was that his muscles had grown.Though he was farely built before, his body looked more muscular than before, but not to the point where he looked like a pro body builder.

"I think that's enough leveling up. Now what level does my card say I am?" Klyde said as he took out his card. His gaw dropped as he saw the number. Level 20. He had gone from 1 to 20 in just a few hours. This made Klyde think how powerful he'd get if he grinded for 6 more days.

"This system is way too op! I wont need to rely on my suit that much anymore!" Klyde happily exclaimed. "Soon, I might become an A rank. Time to go back home I guess."

Klyde got back to the guild and submitted the herbs. Everyone in the room had noticed the change in physique and some were impressed, mostly the women. But something that shocked everyone was his level growth. Though he wasn't the strongest, his growth speed was very impressive. Some started to think he faked it from the start.

The town only had adventures up to Mid C rank and there wasn't much high level quests so most high level people had left for a better town with better quests. But it had an A-rank named Xavier, a powerful mage who would spark an interest in Klyde after getting the news.
