The four of them—master and disciples—sat around the campfire, creating a warm, family-like scene.
"Here, Tsunade-nee…" Kiyoshi said, smiling.
He handed Tsunade a roasted rabbit.
"Thank you…" Tsunade accepted it without hesitation, taking a delicate bite with her teeth, savoring the taste.
A satisfied expression appeared on her face as she remarked, "As always, Kiyoshi, your cooking never fails to win me over."
"By the way, Karin," she turned to the girl, who still held a grudge over being dangled by a certain monster and was occasionally making faces at Kiyoshi.
"How is your progress with the Mystical Palm Jutsu?"
For those with sufficient chakra control, mastering the A-rank medical jutsu wasn't particularly challenging. The true difficulty lay in applying it smoothly and effectively.
"Of course, Lady Tsunade. I've already become quite adept with the Mystical Palm Jutsu." Karin declared proudly, patting her chest.
Over the past two years, with consistent guidance from Shizune, Kiyoshi, and Tsunade—all of whom were highly skilled medical ninja—alongside her natural talent, Karin had finally mastered the Mystical Palm Jutsu after a relentless effort that lasted over two weeks.
"I can even heal small animals quickly," she said, showing off as she rapidly formed hand seals. A soft green light appeared in her palms.
"Yes, Lady Tsunade, Karin's progress has been impressive," Shizune added with a smile.
"Although her use of the technique is still a bit rough, she's ready for the next stage of training."
Unlike Kiyoshi, whose talents were almost monstrous, Karin's progress was more akin to a regular genius.
Despite the pressures of having such exceptionally talented teammates, Shizune herself didn't let up.
She regularly sought advice from Kiyoshi, training her chakra control rigorously to avoid being left too far behind.
While she might not meet Tsunade's high standards, her progress was notable.
"Good. When we reach the Land of Hot Water, Karin, I'll find some real situations to test your skills." Tsunade said approvingly.
"That would be amazing," Karin cheered, sticking her tongue out and making a face at Kiyoshi.
"Just you wait, Kiyoshi. I'll surpass you one day."
Little did she know that Kiyoshi had been teasing her on purpose.
He had noticed two years ago, when she was just seven, that she'd developed a crush on his "irresistible looks."
To prevent her from becoming too infatuated, Kiyoshi had put considerable effort into keeping her grounded, preferring her as a friend and younger sister rather than a star-struck admirer.
After all, Konoha's ninja academy already had enough fan girls.
"Oh, really?" Kiyoshi chuckled, patting her head. "Then you'd better work hard."
"Hey! You've messed up my hair again…" Karin pouted.
"Show some respect, little brat. It's 'senpai' to you."
"Senpai, my foot…"
Watching them bicker, Tsunade and Shizune exchanged amused smiles.
It was in these lighthearted moments that Kiyoshi seemed like a regular child his age, treating Karin as a younger sister.
Otherwise, his mature, composed nature rarely showed such a playful side.
"All right, Kiyoshi, enough bullying Karin…" Tsunade said, pulling out a scroll and tossing it to him. "This is for you."
"What is it?" Kiyoshi asked, his curiosity piqued.
Opening the scroll, he was greeted by the words "Yin Seal" in bold black characters on white paper. His eyes widened in excitement.
"This is the Yin Seal, a technique passed down from my grandmother. And along with it, the Creation Rebirth Technique that I developed over the years," Tsunade said seriously.
"Your medical skills have advanced rapidly these past two years, nearly matching my own. Besides these techniques, I don't have much left to teach you."
"If you want to improve further, it will be up to you now."
Just as Tsunade had predicted, in only two years, Kiyoshi had absorbed nearly all the medical knowledge she had accumulated over the years, making remarkable strides in medical ninjutsu.
His skills far surpassed Shizune's, and his unique insights often left even Tsunade stunned and inspired.
By all measures, he was ready to set out on his own, with only Tsunade's extensive field experience as the remaining gap between them.
But she knew that if he merely imitated her, it would stifle his own growth. He needed his own experiences and challenges to push him toward becoming even greater.
"These two techniques are deeply connected. To learn the Creation Rebirth Technique, you must first master the Yin Seal," Tsunade explained.
"Of course, with your innate healing ability, you might not need the Creation Rebirth itself. What you truly need is the Yin Seal, which allows you to store excess chakra for later use."
"No, I believe all of these techniques could be useful." Kiyoshi replied, taking the scroll with a grin.
"Tsunade-nee, do you remember the concept of a 'medical scroll' I mentioned once?"
"Of course I remember," Tsunade said, nodding. "Your idea, while challenging, is feasible but has significant limitations."
During one of their discussions, Kiyoshi had proposed a method where advanced medical ninjutsu, like the Mystical Palm Jutsu, could be sealed within a scroll by an experienced medical ninja.
This would allow someone with no medical training to activate it, using it as a makeshift healing technique.
However, the idea was complex; injuries varied widely, making it difficult to apply universally.
"What if we could seal the entire Yin Seal or even the Creation Rebirth within someone, similar to sealing a tailed beast?" Kiyoshi asked, his eyes alight with ambition.
"Then, with a specialized chakra transformation mechanism, they could release it, just as a Jinchuriki controls their tailed beast's chakra, effectively mastering the Yin Seal and Creation Rebirth Technique."
"What?" Shizune and Karin gasped, wide-eyed and speechless. Could something so extraordinary actually be possible?
"You're certainly thinking outside the box." Tsunade looked at Kiyoshi in disbelief.
She furrowed her brows thoughtfully and said, "While theoretically possible, it would be extremely challenging to accomplish."
Unlike Shizune and Karin, Tsunade could envision the broader implications.
"This would essentially be a new forbidden technique." she declared.
"If successful, it could bring about a huge shift in the shinobi world, enabling even the average ninja to potentially achieve incredible power."
