Kapitel 39: Chapter 38: Pushed down by Goddess Su?!
Wen Jiexi had no idea Su Chenyu was watching her secretly just now and had even witnessed her 'affair' with another woman. Of course, even if Su Chenyu appeared by her side she wouldn't know what she had done wrong….
"The egg fried rice here is really good!" Li Lingemng scooped up a spoonful of the golden rice with eggs, tender chicken pieces, green onion, and black pepper scattered within the grains. It was a simple dish but easily filled the stomach and was not greasy. Plus, it was delicious!
"Delicious, delicious, and the vegetables are delicious too!" Wen Ting ate cheerfully, her eyes smiling. Besides the fried rice, there were two other fried dishes and a large pot of radish rib soup that was plenty enough for everyone in the crew and cast.
"Sister Heling, are you full already?" Wen Jiexi grabbed her second serving of fried rice and turned toward Chu Heling who had only eaten a small bowl and an even smaller bowl of soup.
"I the type that gets fat easily so I can't eat too much. So I try to eat as little as possible." Chu Heling dainty wiped her mouth and waved her hands helplessly.
"Ah, but you can't be full if you eat like that." Li Lingemgn looked at Chu Heling sympathetically. To have to pay attention to one's weight while eating was the most pitiful thing. They not only had to fast, but they also had to have a special diet. It is said that some artists eat lettuce salad for only two meals a day. That was too pitiful to even think about.
"My appetite isn't that big in the first place so it doesn't make any difference." Chu Heling smiled bitterly and then looked at the three girls in front of them that were each eating more than the other. They probably didn't have to worry about their weight either. It was impossible for her not to feel a little envious after all, which woman doesn't wish to eat her fill in sweets and other delicious things?
"Jiexi and I are the types that don't get fat no matter how much we eat." Li Lingmeng shrugged and smiled.
"I-I…I am too, although not exactly sure that I can eat whatever I want without getting fat but that it's hard for me to get fat." Wen Ting then swallowed the mouthful of food with a gulp.
Xue Molin and Chu Heling: "…." Is this something you should show off about? These three little rabbits are really….
"Oh, by the way, Jiexi, you don't have any scenes after this. So are you going to go back first?" Xue Molin swallowed the vegetables in her mouth and asked.
"En…I want to go back and rest early today." Wen Jiexi contemplated. She really should go back and finish some of her missions. Her first performance was successful today, but she will get busier and busier afterward. So she had to take advantage of this rare afternoon to finish a lot of missions.
"Great, I was going to go back today to after the filming." Xue Molin did not reject Wen Jeixi's decision and yawned lazily.
"Uh, but I want to go see Goddess Su! I want to see her live acting!" Li Lingmeng added with a pout.
"Then you can go by yourself." Xue Molin stuffed her mouth with fried rice.
"But I'm too nervous to go alone." Li Lingmeng looked back shyly, causing Xue Moling to roll her eyes. Shy? Really? Seeing your 'I'm about to swallow Goddess Su alive' wolf eyes, I must say your definition of 'shy' is really strange.
"I-I want to go too! Goddess Su! The Goddess Su!" Wen Ting bounded up and down with her arm raised, her eye full of yearning. She had already heard that Goddess Su was in the crew that was rooming with them and had wanted Goddess Su to sign an autograph for her but haven't had a chance to see her idol yet. She had no clue that the person sitting next to her was sleeping in the same room as her Goddess Su….
"But they're a big crew over there, are you not afraid you'll affect their acting?" At this moment, Lan Yuyan, holding a bowl of soup, walked over when he heard what they said. Then he patted his chest proudly,
"However, I already got an autograph from Goddess Su before they started filming! The signature is hanging above my bed right now!"
"Gaaah! I'm so envious!' Wen Ting shouted then pounced on him,
"Give it to me, give it to this old lady!"
"Don't even think about it! That is my baby treasure!" Lan Yuyan screamed and ran away. And so the two figures began a chase that circled around the others. Everyone decided to ignore the two as there will be someone to come along to stop them….
"Little Yan, what are you doing?" Speaking of the devil, Yan Haocheng was still in costume but no makeup walked over. Wen Jiexi still felt amazed by the smile she saw on his face during his performances. He was obviously an iceberg face but can actually pretend to be a sunny boy. It was a rather incredible transformation.
"Ah-Cheng, she wants to steal my autograph!" Lan Yuyan complained about his grievance.
"Oi, you're still wearing your Demon Leader costume, so can you stop acting like you've been wronged? The image of a Demon Leader is lost on you." Wen Ting saw Yan Haocheng coming and did not continue his choice. Instead, she rolled her eyes and made a vomiting motion towards Lan Yuyan.
"Y-you! This woman is really despicable! I am the great Demon Leader! How could I possibly let my image collapse?" Lan Yuyan replied with a grin.
Wow…the person who can stop them is here but the chase has turned into a flame war. Is this good or bad? Wen Jiexi thought to herself while quietly drinking her soup.
"QUIET! Get over here and sit down!" Xue Molin's veins were popping on her forehead and she shouted loudly at the two who were still chattering.
"Yes!"
"Yes, Ma'am!"
Ah….the true final boss is here…..
"If you want to rest then you will obediently go back to the hotel. Do not disturb the other crew. A big crew is not as lax as we are and are often very busy." Xue Moling stared at both Li Lingmeng and Wen Ting, her eyes shooting daggers.
"Ok…."
"….understood."
Finally, because of Xue Molin's words, their desire to look for Goddess Su dissipated. It was one thing to want to get close to Goddess Su but it's another thing if they disturbed another person's work. If they did, then they might even get blacklisted! One must know, Goddess Su's influence is no joke. Although she did not purposely make trouble for others, doesn't mean she is a pushover. After all, Goddess Su's fanbase is bigger than what the little newcomers could afford to offend.
And so, because of this, Wen Ting decided to stay and accompany Chu Heling while Chu Heling had a few more scenes with Yan Haocheng later.
"I'm going to change first." Wen Jiexi looked down at her black clothes and went into the makeup tent to change.
"Hey, Jiexi, you're here. Do you want to eat with this brother?" Lucy sat near the front of the tent and threw Wen Jiexi a wink.
"Uh…no, I'm full." Wen Jiexi stiffened and waved with a smile,
"Who would want to eat with you, you shemale. Just looking at you makes me sick." Ye Zhenxi snorted coldly beside Lucy and took a sip of her soup.
When Wen Jiexi came back out after changing, the three of them returned to the hotel. After thinking about it, she decided to replenish the food in her room. Of the original six, three of them don't get fat easily and the other three were assistants and agents who didn't need to perform on stage. The amount of food that is intake each day was way more than the other rooms. Fortunately, they always threw away their trash in the middle of the night or else who knows how many reputations would be ruined…of course, this was referring specifically to Wen Jiexi and Su Chenyu. But even if someone saw, they would think it was all Wen Jiexi because she was a foodie after all….
Glancing at the store's front, the lights were brighter than when she first came here and the air conditioner was cooler. Perhaps it was because they knew that there would be more people who would patronize the store, so there were more things to purchase this time. An old granny slowly replenished the items from a box on the floor.
Seeing someone come in, the old granny greeted in a hoarse voice,
"Welcome…"
"Hey, granny." Wen Jiexi nodded and grabbed a basket before filling it up with things.
"Hey, since you're going to take so much, might as well just take it straight from the box. Stop troubling people and making them replenish the goods every time you sweep them clean. When do you think they'll be able to stock up at this point?" Xue Molin grabbed the goods they put in their basket and returned it to the shelf.
The two who were grabbing things like crazy and then looked at each other. It was true, the old woman was not young anymore and it was backbreaking for her to do so much work. Anyhow, it was the thing either way whether they take it from the box or from the shelves.
"Yes, yes! What Sister Xue said is correct!" Li Lingmeng cried and then walked over to the old granny,
"Granny, if you don't mind, we'll just take directly from your cardboard boxes. We see that you just restocked your goods so if we take them all now, won't you have to start over? That's too much work."
The old lady was hesitant at first but nodded seeing how these three came to visit her every day.
"Ok, Ok! Little Xi, what do you want to eat? Potato chips, beef jerky?"
"There's also peanut milk and eight-treasure porridge over here."
"Grab some instant noodles instead. We don't have a pot so we'll only be able to make cup noodles."
As they grabbed the food, they also helped the old granny replenish her stocks. They also flattened the cardboard boxes and stacked them in a pile before finally walking up to the register with two baskets full of goods.
"All done." Li Lingmeng clapped in satisfaction.
"Thank you, thank you. You've helped me a lot." The granny nodded in gratitude at the three.
"It's nothing, granny. It's only a slight effort for us." Wen Jiexi lifted the baskets onto the counter and misled.
"Here, these are my dried salted prunes. If you don't mind, please try them." The old granny said and took out a bag. The bag wasn't like the plastic kind and looked like something granny made personally.
"Thank you." Wen Jiexi smiled and accepted the old granny's gratitude. It would be considered rude if she refused and if they were going to stay here for a few days, they couldn't embarrass themselves in front of the food-selling grandmother.
The three returned to the hotel with an armful of bags. There were very few people in the hotel for it seemed like most were with the crew. Of course, there were a few bodyguards patrolling around the area. After all, some thieves may take advantage of the crew's absence to steal things or paparazzi might sneak on set.
As soon as they approached, Wen Jiexi could feel multiple pairs of eyes studying them. However, after a glance, no one stopped them from entering. This was inevitable when you had a bigshot like Xue Molin with them.
Stepping inside the hotel, there were many people still eating lunch. The food for lunch was the same here as on set but the people here were very leisurely eating their food. Unlike on set, there was no time limit and many people could chat or go on their phones as they ate.
"Ah, when I think about the fact that Goddess Su is eating the same food as us, I feel so happy." Li Lingmeng remarked with an infatuated face.
"Hey, what are you daydreaming about this time? You make it sound like you never see her eat. Don't you eat with her during breakfast every day?" Xue Molin couldn't figure out what these crazy fangirls were thinking. Did they think their idol doesn't eat, drink, or sleep? Why did they wish to observe their idols? They weren't some rare species.
"That's not the same, Sister Xue. Sister Xue, you don't understand. I had thought I could only admire Goddess Su from a distance but after many interactions, I feel that Goddess Su is not averse to interacting with us mortals! She's easy to get along with and so maybe I can even grab a photo with her to commemorate our time together!" Li Lingmeng rubbed her hands calculatingly.
"That;'s easy, you can just ask Jiexi to help you with it. After all, with her living in the same room as Little Su, she must have a better relationship with her than you." Xue Molin said helplessly.
"Little Xi~" Li Lingmeng let out a coquettish voice and turned around, only to see the person behind her was gone. Looking at the stairs, she saw a glance of somebody running away!
"Wha!!! Little Xi! Come back here! Aren't we comrades, best friends, and fellow diehard fans!" Shouting and then rushing after the said person, the result was….she ran for about two seconds before supporting herself against the wall.
"Huuu…huuu….stop…just you wait…Ha…I'm so exhausted….I will definitely…I will definitely get a chance-!"
These two idiots….Xue Moling palmed her forehead and waved an apology at the crowd now looking over due to the commotion. She sighed and then slowly walked up the stairs herself.
"Hu…." Wen Jiexi patted her chest. Fortunately, she could run fast. Looking down the stairs, she couldn't see anyone. It seemed like her friend won't be able to catch up. After all, it was impossible to run up five sets of stairs with Li Lingmeng's strength.
Just the thought of being dragged into asking for a photo with Sister Su was terrifying. Knowing Sister Su's personality, who knows what she'll make Wen Jiexi do to repay the favor. Creeping slowly to her room, Wen Jiexi carefully opened the door and looked inside…no one!
"Huuu…." Wen Jiexi let out a sigh of relief and jumped onto her bed.
"Jiexi, Jiexi, are you going to complete your missions?" Dango circled around its contractor. After 'slacking off' for so long, they were finally getting back to work!
"Yeah, didn't you hear me say about resting? While Sister Su is away, we'll complete a little more than usual. Otherwise, there really will be no other chance.' Wen Jiexi said as she rolled off the bed and started stretching immediately. She learned her lesson and made sure to stretch so her muscles won't go hard. If Goddess Su felt her muscles was too hard and decided to give her another round of 'massages'…..it was too scary to even think about it.
When Su Chenyu returned to the room, she ran into Wen Jiexi opening the door to the bathroom and coming out with a towel around her neck.
"S-sister Su…." Seeing Su Chenyu, Wen Jiexi thought about how she completed missions like crazy for the last five hours without rest. Looking at the ground….Everything is properly packed up there's not even a trace! Yes!
"I'm back…" Su Chenyu viewed Wen Jiexi's guilty expression as the girl acting restrained towards her. At the same time, she felt uncomfortable in her heart and tired in both body and mind. She had to go through dozens of scenes today just so she could squeeze out some time to watch Wen Jiexi. Yet, when she arrived, she saw her little sheep's easygoing and grinning attitude towards other people. It really made her feel upset.
"Do you want to eat something? I went to the convenience store with Little Meng and Sister Xue and bought back a lot of food today!" Wen Jiexi hung her towel on the rack and opened the cabinet and refrigerator to reveal her treasure trove. They were overfilled with snacks and there were several unopened beverages in the refrigerator as well.
"Is that so? " Su Chenyu raised an eyebrow and replied nonchalantly. Usually, she would be in a good mood after seeing so many snacks, but she wasn't. Why?
She removed her hair tie, letting down her hair, and then walked over to her luggage. After grabbing a change of clothes, she entered the bathroom and shut the door behind her.
"Eh? She didn't react like I thought she would." Wen Jiex scratched her head in confusion.
"She's probably in a bad mood." Dango floated beside Wen Jiexi. Tilting its head, Danog flew towards the bathroom.
"Should I go and investigate the enemy?"
"Wait!" Wen Jiexi grabbed Dango's little tail, but that didn't stop Danog and the plump little body stretched into a long one instead. Letting out a yelp, Dango let out an aggrieved expression as it looked up at Wen Jiexi. Feeling guilty, Wen Jiexi set Dango back on the bed and waited for Dango to return to its original ball-like body.
"You…are you ok?"
Dango held up its head and then shook itself. After a little while, the body slowly shrank, no, turned fat and short then puffed back into its original shape.
Wen Jiexi: "…." Give me back my guilt.
"Jiexi, why are you so agitated?" Dango twisted its body and checked for problems. After confirming its body was fine, it asked with an annoyed look.
"Well, who told you to…cough…who told you to peep on Sister Su while she is in the baht." Wen Jiexi coughed dryly and glanced at the bathroom then lowered her voice and said, "I haven't even seen it yet, how can I let you see it?" Cough….I seemed to have said something wrong?
"Eh, so what if I saw? I've already seen your body so many times. You're both women, and in my eyes, you're all the same." Dango said with a pout. So this was the reason for my 'serious injury' just now? Feeling rather disappointed, Dango flew up and patted Jiexi's shoulder.
"Jiexi, don't be discouraged, you still have time. Although the difference is rather obvious as of now, yours will get larger. See, you've eaten so much of that fruit and it has already gotten larger. Don't worry, you still have a chance."
"…is that so…." The corners of her mouth twitched and she gave Dango a 'good for you' look while the veins on her forehead jumped. Taking a deep breath, she remembered about injuring Dango early and so decided to not take revenge right this moment. Instead, she pushed the little fellow away.
"Go play over there, I have stuff to do."
"Hmph." Dango snorted and then drifted onto the pillow, taking out its phone.
Wen Jiexi originally wanted to look over the script but after thinking about it, decided to take a good rest since she hasn't relaxed in a long time. She turned on the TV and then took out a packet of potato chips, a carton of milk, and then climbed onto the bed. She smoothed out a newspaper onto the bed to catch any crumbs and then placed her carton on the side. She'll drink it when it's less cold.
What should I watch? Watch a drama? Right now there should be only some local dramas and some news? Not news….Finally Wen Jiexi decided on a variety show. This will be her first time watching a local variety show, so she must watch closely….
"Pffft–! Hahaha!"
Wiping her hair, Su Chenyu walked out of the bathroom and was startled by the sudden laughter. She glanced up to see a young girl sitting on the bed, eating potato chips while her eyes were fixed on the TV. She was laughing at some TV program called 'Crazy Play' and it was a program where artists were hanging upside down for punishment but couldn't get back up despite how much they squirm. It was funny, she supposed.
"Hahaha-cough…" Noticing the figure standing beside her, Wen Jiexi was in the middle of laughing when she choked on her own saliva and hurriedly patted her chest.
Su Chenyu gave her a look and then went over to her own bed.
Wen Jiexi carefully studied Su Chenyu's reaction. Did her piggish laughing destroy her own image in Goddess Su's heart?
Although at this angle it seemed like she was only watching the TV, Su Chenyu's eyes drifted towards Wen Jiexi from time to time. Seeing the girl's troubled face because of her, she felt a sense of displeasure.
"What do you think about your crew and cast?" Su Chenyu asked lightly.
"Huh? Ah….everyone is pretty nice and they help me from time to time. There are a lot of newcomers and so almost everyone is acting for the first time. The three most important roles: the male lead, female lead, and final boss are in the same company as us. Oh, many of the newcomers are playing important roles too. Oh, right, sometimes we would practice with each other, especially with Sister Heling. She's super nice and has a gentle personality with a good attitude. When she heard that we wanted to practice, she was very happy to help us. I feel very grateful for her help and she's the reason why I can perform a little less nervously. Also, also….wha…" Wen Jiexi froze for a moment when Su Chenyu asked her a question but then rambled happily after seeing that Su Chenyu was still talking with her. Thinking that her image was salvaged, she talked without thinking and let out everything she was feeling. However, she hadn't finished when suddenly….
Because she had relaxed, Wen Jiexi held no precautions against Su Chenyu. By the time she recovered, she realized she was lying on the bed, and above her was Goddess Su. Su Chenyu pinned her down with hands on both sides of her head and the slightly damp hair brushed against Wen Jeixi's cheek. However, she did not push off the person above her….she couldn't….
"Sister Su…you…" Unfortunately, she was interrupted by Su Chenyu.
"Do you like her…?"
