Kapitel 5: Chapter 5
I started walking around the corridors of the school doing an 'exploration'. My duel disk still on me however for some reason it was kind of bugging.
"What the??" It was activating by itself and shutting down in quick succession. That wasn't something that should happen right?
*ding* *ding*
"Oh? 5000 DP has been delivered to your account following your win?" Interesting I guess I should have figure out that the school works on a dueling win basis. Anyways what should I do with this duel disk? I took the duel disk out of my hand and remove my deck from it. I began investigating the duel disk.
"The outside seems fine, it must be a problem with the dueling core."
I took out my PDA and started looking for something that can be useful. Who knew that duel academy would have the rules of the school written in a pdf form.
'...in case there is a problem with the dueling disk, go to the faculty department to have your issue resolve."
*At the faculty department*
"Oh hello there." a man in his 30s told me. He was wearing the usual instructor outfit.
"Hello sir, i came here to fix my duel disk. It said that if the due-"
"Oh your duel disk is broken. Let me see." He said with a lot of enthusiasm while practically ripping it off from my hand.
"So can it be fix?" I told him while he was investigating the duel disk.
"The core is burnt out from a high level of power supply. Im sorry kid but you will have to buy a new one."
"How much is a new one?"
"40 000 DP"
"40K!!!"
"Yeah it's extremely rare for duel disk to break down so the school charges a lot when you buy a new one."
"You know what, i could probably repair it by myself." I took a look around me and picked up a box on the floor.
"I will take this...and also this and this also-" I said while picking a few stuff from around me and took my duel disk from him before leaving the room.
*Night time*
"Hey Kai, I heard you defeated like 4 students in a duel today." Chumley said to me. It was only the two of us in the room since Jaden and Syrus were taking a bath right now.
"Yeah why?"
"Wait so you defeated an Obelisk blue and also Ra yellow student?"
"And also Jaden and Syrus. But yeah I did beat an Obelisk blue and a Ra yellow."
"That's totally licious you know."
"..."
"So I currently have the guy who defeated Dr Crowler and the guy who defeated the guy who defeated Dr Crowler and also an Obelisk blue and a Ra yellow as my roommate."
"Uh...yeah."
"Anyways what are you doing right now?"
"My duel disk broke down so i'm fixing it." I said while fixing in the wires.
"I will probably done in some few minutes. It's already been an hour since I started fixing so i'm nearly done."
"Oh god I'm so tired right now." Jaden said as he opened the door and entered alongside Syrus.
"Hey you guys. What you guys doing" he said before sitting on his bed.
Syrus meanwhile started making some tea.
"We were just talking about me beating you four ass up in a duel."
"Oh come on that's not fair." Jaden said while pouting.
"I will the rematch, I promise you that."
"Sure."
"oh btw tomorrow we have Alchemy class and also PE class." Jaden said to me.
"Here is your tea...and yours and here is yours Chumley." Syrus said while distributing the tea amongst us four,
"Thanks."
"Anyways what happened to your duel disk Kai?"
"Oh it broke down after our duel."
"That's weird."
"That's the same thing I thought when it started bugging out. Anyways It's probably fixed now."
I put it on and activated it.
"Ok so now its fine."
"You know Kai after our 5 way duel Bastion said he is gonna make a new deck just for you." Jaden said.
"Yeah he looks extremely determined to beat you. He said something like 'I'll create the perfect equation to counter his deck.' and left off." Syrus added on.
"Alexis seemed mad at herself for losing."
"Yeah she looked like she failed herself when she lost."
"Oh well, probably ptsd or something what about you two?"
"Oh me, I'm sure I can beat you next time we duel. So for the moment you are #1, i am #2 and Bastion is #3. Chazz can also be #3 you know."
"Chazz? I didn't meet him yet."
"Yeah he believes he is the best of the school. I would have beaten him during our duel last night. But the guards had to come in and ruin the fun." Jaden said while grumping.
"Yeah Ja is still mad about not finishing the duel." Syrus said while embarrassed.
I took my duel disk off and sat down on the floor.
"You do love dueling a lot #2."
"What's not to love about the game. It's so fun and thrilling. It makes me feel free when I am playing it."
"What about you Kai? Do you love dueling?"
"Not that much if i'm being honest."
"oh!! and why?"
"It's almost too easy for me. I win every time whether it's against 4 people, 10 people or even 100 people at once." Jaden and the rest looked at me weirdly when I said.
"You don't have to worry bro, I'll be the one to defeat you." Jaden said while having a smile.
"huh...sure i guess!"
"I am not joking tho Kai, i'll defeat you."
"You know you kinda became like my principal goal to climb. I always thought duel academy will have strong and tough duelist and I was right." Jaden said with a smile.
"You are currently probably the strongest duelist in our year. So surpassing you is my goal if I want to become the king of games."
"The king of games? So that's your goal?"
"Yeah every duelists dream to reach that title...isn't that right Sy?"
"Yeah...uh...Ja is right."
"What about you Chum? What's your goal?"
"Me...uh...i kinda want to become like a...card designer." He said shyly.
"And what about you Kai?"
"It's...complicated."
We all kept talking for hours not realizing how much time has passed by.
"You know Kai, just before you came to the room. Sy wanted to call me Pharaoh because he thought me and him was the pharaoh and the priest seto."
"NOT THAT'S...THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!" Syrus screamed while being embarrassed.
"You know Ja, I forgot to tell you that but Alexis thought you were my big brother. And asked me why is my brother like that when you were dueling Chazz."
"What did you tell her Sy??"
"I told her that you were my big brother spiritually." Syrus said a bit shyly but with a bit of pride.
"Awww Sy. That's so nice man."
"Oh yeah also, when Ja met Alexis he asked her if she fell in love at first sight with him." Syrus added on.
"Oh come on she was looking at me as if she was in love. So how am I meant to know."
"You do know you weren't as smooth as you thought you were Ja?"
"I thought it was smooth."
"Did you even know her name at that point?" I asked him.
"No why??"
All of us except Jaden felt a sort of embarrassment but we didn't want to shatter his delusion.
"Anyways how did you and Alexis met anyway? You were sleeping the whole day yesterday and today you went in class with us?" Jaden asked me.
"Ja is right. When did you get time to meet her?"
"I actually met her in the helicopter on the way to the school. I also met her two friends."
"Are they as pretty as her?"
"Asking the real question huh Syrus."
"NO...I just-" Syrus said while getting embarrassed. Meanwhile Jaden and Chumley just started laughing seeing how red Syrus turned into.
"They are pretty. But I have seen prettier women."
"Prettier than Alexis?"
"I mean i've seen many beautiful women but Alexis is probably the second prettiest and also second hottest."
"Oh man I wonder who the other woman was." Syrus said a bit quietly however it was loud enough for me to hear.
"Who knew little Syrus was interested so much in those stuffs?" I said to him.
"WHAT!!! NO...I-"
"It's normal Syrus for us to find a woman hot at our age. Am I right guys?"
"I mean you are saying the truth." Jaden responded.
"He is kinda right Syrus. You don't have to be embarrassed." Chumley added.
"You guys aren't helping." Syrus said while being down from the embarrassment.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
"Wait I'll go check." Jaden said.
He opened the door and was met by a man holding a cat.
"Oh hello Jaden."
"Professor Banner...is there something you want?"
"You guys do know that it's already past 11 p.m right?? And people are sleeping while you guys are making noise."
"We are sorry professor Banner. It won't happen again." Jaden said to him.
"Oh well then. Have a goodnight everybody."
Jaden closed the door and sat back on his bed.
"Who is he??" I asked them.
"Oh yeah you didn't meet him yet right? This was Professor Banner, dorm master of Slifer Red and also the alchemy teacher." Chumley told me.
"He is quite a nice guy." Syrus added.
"Anyways I think we should sleep right now or else Professor Banner will be really mad."
"Yeah...goodnight then."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight you guys."
"Yeah goodnight."
*The next day*
We were in Dr Crowler class currently learning about spell card.
"Spell cards can be separated into 6 types of spell cards. Normal Spell card, Equip Spell card, Quick Play Spell card, Ritual Spell card, Continuous Spell card and Field Spell Card."
"Oh perfect Alexis."
Crowler began specting the class trying to find the next person to his questions.
"You, Mr Truesdale."
"Uhm..yes sir. "Syrus said in a panic immediately standing up the moment Crowler said his name.
"Can you please explain to the class what a field spell card is?"
"Uhmm...a field...a field spell...a field spell card is when uhmm."
"Even kindergarteners know that." Someone screamed in the class.
"A field spell card is a card that can change the entire state of play for its controller." I responded in place of Syrus.
"Mr Yuri, I asked Mr Truesdale the question. So why did you respond in his place?"
"He is wasting time."
"...you responding in his place won't allow him to learn."
"Like the guy in the back said even kindergartners know what a field spell card is so why not ask him something tougher for him to learn."
"...you are right."
"Mr Truesdale what is a spell speed 3?"
"A spell speed 3??"
"Yes."
"I don't know what that mean."
"Sit down then."
Crowler looked utterly disappointed however he again began to search whom to ask the question.
"You at the back. What is a spell speed 3?"
"I don't know sir."
After asking probably 10 students, Crowler looked at us all disappointed and utterly tired.
"Does anybody know what it means?"
"I ca-" What is Bastion who said that? It seemed like him but whatever.
"I can explain" I said while raising my hand.
"Explain to the class Mr Yuri."
"Sure." I stood up from my seat and began explaining.
"A spell speed 1 is the slowest type of slowest speed card and cannot be chained for e.g pot of greed cannot be chained so it's a spell speed 1. A spell speed 2 are fast effects cards and can be chained and spell speed 3 are counter traps and can only be responded by another spell speed 3 card."
The whole class looked at me as if I just said the weirdest thing ever.
"Uh...it's the right answer Mr Yuri. You can sit down."
I am surprised Crowler doesn't want to kill me after what I did in yesterday class.
"Mr Truesdale. Explain to the class what is a ritual spell card at the very least."
However Syrus again panicked and fumbled up. He sat down all embarrassed and down.
"You know Dr Crowler. You mocking us Slifer Red is, in a way insulting to yourself since I beat you. So I don't think you should be mocking us." Jaden said to Crowler causing a few burst of laughter from the class mainly from the Slifer Red.
Crowler looked pissed when Jaden said that. You could basically feel his anger is about to burst.
*Alchemy class*
*Yawn*
"Oh man, why do we have to attend class." Jaden said while laying his head on the table.
"Ja focus up or else it will be just like last class. Also thanks for earlier."
"No problem Syrus but for what tho?"
"Wait you don't remember?"
"Syrus he is half asleep."
"Syrus!!" Professor Banner called out his name.
"Yes sir."
"Can you please bring Pharaoh to me."
"Pharaoh??"
*meow* All three of us look down only to see a cat at Syrus feet.
*PE class*
"Hey Kai did you see Sy?"
"No why you asking?"
"He still hasn't change into his PE outfit."
"Hello everybody!" a feminine voice called out causing all of us to fixed our attention to her.
"My name is Fonda Fontaine. I'll be your PE teacher." All of us were staring at her mostly for the wrong reason. She was a very attractive woman to say the least.
*At night*
I was currently talking to Chumley before Jaden came in.
"You guys seen Sy?"
"Yeah man he seemed to be in a rush." I said to him.
"Yeah he also seems pretty happy." Chumley added on.
"I just hope he doesn't get into trouble."
"He missed a heavenly chance to be in the PE class." I said.
We began talking amongst ourselves before Jaden got a notification on his PDA.
"We have your friend Syrus. Come to the obelisk girl dorm alone if you want."
"What?" Jaden said in a panic. He began wearing his uniform back and took his duel disk.
"Kai you coming??"
"what?? why would I go with you? They told you to come alone."
"You were the one who earlier in PE talked about enjoying life with a rush and wanting to explore the world. So come with me."
'We just gonna ignore the 'come alone' part? Why did I get him as my roommate?' I sighed before changing back in my uniform and taking my duel disk.
"Where are you guys going?" Chumley asked us.
"To the obelisk girl dorm? Why?" Jaden asked.
"It's trespassing. You are gonna get expel." Chumley said.
"Wait expel? You are kidding right?"
"No..."
"Kai are you coming or not?"
"Yeah I'm coming don't worry."
We are currently sitting on a boat.
"I wonder if Sy is safe."
"Yeah he is probably safe."
"I hope so man."
We reached the dock just to be met with a surprise.
"Hey Ja, Kai"
"Sup."
"Sy are you alright?"
"I messed up bro."
"He was trespassing in our dorm at night time." Mindy said to us.
"Syrus was trespassing in our dorm Jaden. By school rules he should be expel." Alexis said.
"You can't do that Alexis. He is your friend. You dueled alongside him yesterday itself."
"Rules are rules tho."
"And since you two are here, you two are also trespassing but we can make an exception for one of you two I guess." Jasmine said while looking at me with a smile.
*cough* *cough*
"You two girls alright? I didn't meet you ever since we landed here."
"Oh we are fine, right Mindy."
"Yeah yeah!!"
*COUGH* *COUGH* Alexis coughed a bit louder trying to get the attention of Jasmine and Mindy which worked successfully.
"How about we settle this in a duel? If you win, you guys leave without us telling the administration? If you lose, you get expel."
"You want you a duel huh Alexis then get your game on." Jaden said to her.
(Do you guys want me to write the duel between Jaden and Alexis or do I just skip it since it is going to be similar like how it was in the anime.)
