Kapitel 119: "The Secrets of the Rainbow Mist: Raja's Discovery"

The Going Merry was racing through choppy waters, the thunderous booms of Marine cannon fire echoing across the sea as Major Rapanui Pasqua's fleet chased them with relentless determination. Cannonballs flew past the ship, splashing into the water, each near-miss sending sprays of seawater over the crew.

Raja, standing back with an amused grin, summoned his wand and chanted a spell that cast a shimmering barrier around the ship. The cannonballs hit the barrier, ricocheting harmlessly into the sea. The crew sighed in relief as Luffy let out a cheer, "We're unstoppable!"

Ahead, a mysterious fog began to swirl around the waters, thickening with each passing second. Nami's eyes lit up as she recognized an opportunity for escape. "Head for the fog!" she shouted, and the crew maneuvered the ship into the mist.

As the fog enveloped them, the visibility of the Marine ships faltered, and the fleet became entangled in confusion. Ships crashed into one another, unable to see the rocks that jutted out from the fog. They had no choice but to pull back, granting the Going Merry and its crew a momentary reprieve.

Emerging from the thick mist, the crew found themselves gazing upon a small, eerie island shrouded in a faint rainbow-colored glow. As they docked, a strange, whimsical figure approached them, his eyes filled with curiosity and excitement.

It was Henzo, a scientist who'd been researching the mysterious "Rainbow Mist."

Henzo explained that the Rainbow Mist was an otherworldly dimension where people who entered could lose track of time, sometimes emerging decades later. Raja's eyes sparkled with intrigue. As the crew listened, Raja slipped away, releasing several magical drones that floated through the mist, capturing samples and recording every supernatural occurrence. His fingers danced over the controls of a scanning device as he began logging data from the mist, its strange energies radiating like an echo from another world.

Raja's mind buzzed with ideas. If he could harness the properties of the mist, perhaps he could create a time chamber back on the ship. The idea was ambitious—he envisioned a place where time moved differently, allowing his friends to train for months in what would feel like mere hours in the outside world.

As the crew ventured further into the mist, Raja chose a different path. Guided by his DF (Devil Fruit) scanner, he trekked through the swirling haze. The device beeped with a soft rhythm, indicating nearby Devil Fruits. Raja smirked as he followed its signal deeper into the mist.

Navigating through the eerie, distorted reality, Raja soon stumbled upon a treasure trove of artifacts hidden within the wreckage of old ships that had been swallowed by the mist over centuries. In this timeless realm, objects gleamed as if untouched by the passage of time. Among the scattered gold and gemstones, Raja found not one but two Devil Fruits nestled amidst the relics. Their strange markings and vibrant colors practically glowed against the mist's otherworldly hues.

The first fruit had swirling, flame-like patterns, while the other was a deep oceanic blue with wave designs curling along its surface. Raja held each fruit up, examining their mysterious qualities before securing them in his inventory. "These might come in handy later," he whispered to himself, satisfied with his haul.

Satisfied with his treasures and data, Raja returned to his experiments on the mist itself, collecting samples in vials, noting their properties, and pondering the possibilities. The mist's energy seemed alive, resonating with both temporal and spatial vibrations that defied logic. Raja's mind was set—he would replicate this phenomenon, create something even greater aboard the Going Merry.

Elsewhere within the mist, Luffy and the rest of the crew were encountering a group of children who claimed they had been trapped there for years. The crew quickly realized that time flowed differently here; the children had been inside for what felt like days, but the outside world had experienced decades.

As the Straw Hats navigated the strange, foggy landscape, Luffy, in typical fashion, came across a chest full of treasure and eagerly carted it back to the Going Merry. But as he did so, ghostly figures began to appear, whispering of a curse that would fall upon any who took from the mist.

Zoro, ever ready to face a challenge, unsheathed his swords, preparing for a fight. But the ghosts, as it turned out, were actually the children themselves, playing tricks on the crew to protect their hidden world.

The children introduced themselves as the "Pumpkin Pirates" and challenged the Straw Hats to a series of pranks and puzzles, which Luffy took on with delighted enthusiasm. In the background, however, Henzo watched with a melancholy gaze. These were the same children he'd known years ago, before the Rainbow Mist had torn them from the normal flow of time.

Back in Ruluka, Sanji, Nami, and Chopper were dealing with Mayor Wetton's heavy-handed rule over the people. Wetton, an ex-pirate turned mayor, had taxed the villagers into poverty under the guise of constructing the Rainbow Tower, a supposed route into the Rainbow Mist and its treasures. But it was clear that Wetton's intentions were anything but noble.

The trio quickly clashed with the local authorities, who had been strong-arming the townsfolk and enforcing Wetton's brutal taxes. Sanji, defending Nami against a tax collector's advances, ignited a brawl in the marketplace, eventually forcing Wetton's men to back down. Nami and Chopper secured what supplies they could, preparing for a potential escape plan.

They learned from the villagers that Wetton sought to exploit the Rainbow Mist's secrets for wealth and power. Nami, recognizing an opportunity, devised a plan to confront Wetton directly while keeping an eye on their crewmates trapped inside the mist.

As Raja continued his exploration, he noticed that his drones were picking up strange fluctuations within the mist—echoes of the past were converging with the present. Shipwrecks from centuries ago loomed like specters, and voices of long-lost sailors whispered through the fog.

"Fascinating…" Raja murmured as he examined the readings on his device. The mist seemed to exist at the crossroads of time, where past, present, and future intertwined. He hypothesized that this effect was the result of powerful spatial and temporal distortions, an anomaly that could very well be replicated if he could isolate its source.

Suddenly, the air crackled with a strange energy, and Raja felt a chill as a shadowy form emerged from behind a shipwreck. The figure, ghostly and translucent, was the spirit of a long-dead pirate, forever bound to the mist.

"You there…" the ghost rasped. "Are you here to steal our treasures, too?"

Raja met the ghost's gaze, unfazed. "I'm here to understand this place, nothing more. But your treasures, well... I might borrow a few." He smiled and raised his wand, channeling a shield that dispelled the ghostly figure. The spirit retreated, its angry wails echoing through the mist.

Meanwhile, Luffy and the crew learned from the Pumpkin Pirates that there was a way out of the Rainbow Mist, though it required activating an old mechanism on one of the ancient ships. As they made their way to the mechanism, the children pleaded with them to take them along, but Henzo, heartbroken, realized they could not leave.

After activating the mechanism, a swirling vortex appeared within the mist, offering the Straw Hats an escape route. The children, resigned to their fate, bid farewell to the crew, waving from the edges of the mist as the Straw Hats disappeared through the portal, back into the real world.

As they exited the mist, they found themselves surrounded by Marine ships. However, the Marines seemed more concerned with apprehending Wetton, who was attempting to load the treasures of Ape's Concert aboard his own ship.

As the Straw Hats docked in Ruluka, they were met by an unexpected sight. The Marines who had arrived to arrest Wetton were none other than the Pumpkin Pirates, now grown and clad in Marine uniforms. They had survived, thrown decades into the past by the Rainbow Mist's collapse, and had grown up to join the Navy.

Henzo, recognizing his old friends despite their aged faces, was overcome with emotion. They, however, had no memory of him, the mist having distorted their past. Henzo's face crumpled as he realized they had been denied their childhood, their dreams forever altered by the mist.

With Wetton's arrest and the Pumpkin Pirates' bittersweet return, the Straw Hats prepared to leave Ruluka. As they sailed off, Raja stood on the deck, his gaze fixed on the distant Rainbow Mist. He clutched the vials of mist he had collected, each shimmering with a ghostly glow.

Luffy, noticing the look on Raja's face, approached him. "Hey, Raja! What're you thinking about?"

Raja's expression softened. "Just… possibilities," he replied. "This mist holds secrets beyond imagination. And who knows, maybe someday I'll be able to recreate its effects."

Luffy tilted his head, not quite understanding but giving Raja a thumbs-up. "Well, if it's something cool, I'm in!"

As they drifted farther from Ruluka, the sky darkened, and from above, a shadow fell upon the Going Merry. The crew looked up in surprise as a massive ship came plummeting from the sky, heralding the start of yet another adventure.

And in the background, Raja's mind whirred with plans for the future, for in his possession lay the mysteries of the Rainbow Mist—a gateway to a world where time was but an illusion, and a powerful tool for what lay ahead.
