Kapitel 11: CHAPTER 11: HALL OF MIRRORS
* As Damian and Nerrisa moves deeper into the mansion, they came up on a hall, lined with mirrors. " what is this place? And look at all these mirrors", Damian Said as he and Nerrisa stops, turning around to take a good look at the room meticulously. Damian and Nerrisa now realizes that they are trapped in a mirror room with no exits, this mirrors were not just ordinary mirrors, each mirror reflects not just their physical forms but shows visions of potential futures, based on the choices and fears of Nerrisa and Damian.
It was obvious that this room was either the final trial or part of it because Nerrisa and Damian couldn't find an exit door after so many attempts to see if there was any hidden door because the door which they came in through has vanished from plain sight. Vigilantly, Damian and Nerrisa stood side by side to each other as they keep surveying the room. Damian noticed that his reflection on one of the mirrors did not fade away or disappear as he moved passed it, after experiencing the same situation repeatedly he stops to and stares at the mirror, staring at the mirror drove Damian's mind into a state of madness, as he looked into the eyes of his reflection, he sees false alternate versions of himself, visions of Nerrisa's death due to alchemy and lots of horrors due to the failed attempted rituals, all these were nothing but false visions.
Damian was on the floor screaming due to the pain he's experiencing from the rush of false memories into his mind, Nerrisa felt helpless as she watches Damian rolling in pain. One of the visions shows him as a powerful alchemist, feared but isolated, while another vision shows a life of peace but distant from his family's legacy. As these visions rushes through his mind, Damian thought of his choice, his heart became heavy, filled with regrets. Nerrisa knelt down close to him and placed him on her lap and spoke gently to Damian as he was stiff as if caught in a trance. " Damian these versions of yourself are not who you are, they are not true, they are all illusions, Damian!! snap out of it", she said as she slapped him by the cheeks. Damian woke up and coughed out blood, he looked at Nerrisa and said, " thank you for believing in me". He got up and out of anger he throws punches at the mirrors, attempting to destroy it all, he shatters multiple mirrors across the room, leaving pieces of glass all over the floor, Damian looked at the broken mirrors and made a sigh of relief. Damian's hand was covered in his own blood as he walks and sat close to Nerrisa, she tends to his wounds but this was not the end of their horrifying tour of the mansion, as breaking the mirrors was a big mistake on Damian's path. The pieces of mirror on the floor began to glow as it flies back to it original position and merges together forming a whole new mirror. The glasses on the floor flew up and down the room, the glasses cuts Nerrisa's arm as it flew around, Damian rushed and shielded her with his body, the piece of Glass cuts Damian, leaving slight injuries all over his body. After few minutes the room became silent as all the mirrors has become complete again, Damian was careful enough not to look at the mirrors again, Nerrisa continues healing him. A strange door appears behind Nerrisa, Damian got up after regaining his strength and walks towards the door, "let's put an end to this pointless trial", Damian said confidently as he walked through the door, without hesitation Nerrisa followed.
* As they went through the the door, they find themselves in an ancient chamber, this chamber was filled with relic's and artifacts which once belongs to his ancestors, these items calls to him, whispers of his name fills the air inside the chamber, as the voices grew stronger, resonating with powerful energies, these sounds begin to channel at a point forming a thick smoke, Damian and Nerrisa stood and watched, ready to face whatever comes out of the smoke. Out of the smoke came a ghostly form of his grandfather, it appears, attempting to bind Damian's soul to the family line permanently, the ghostly form poured out Incantations, "By fire, stone, and ancient will,
Bound to halls that pulse yet still,
Spirit, heed this call, take form anew,
Your essence merged to brick and hue.
Through iron, earth, and binding thread,
In walls and wood your fate is wed.
Bound here, by oath and blooded vow,
This dwelling claims you, here and now."
These Incantations drags Damian as he held unto Nerrisa's arms, Nerrisa listens carefully to the words of this unholy form, having much knowledge of alchemy she tells Damian a reversing spell to nullify the effects of the incantation and break free. Hearing these words Damian smiled and let's go if Nerrisa's arm, as he floats in the air, getting closer to the ghostly form he turns and chant's the reversing spell, "By truth and light, dissolve this chain,Free the bound from walls of pain.
Essence scattered, curse undone,
In peace, release to setting sun.
With earth, air, and purging flame,
I break this bond, erase this claim.
From stone and spirit, sever ties,
Depart, unbound, and now arise." Refusing to be shackled. After this event the ghostly form disappeared leaving Damian and Nerrisa at the heart of the mansion. At the heart of the mansion lies a final alchemical seal an ornate symbol representing the family curse. Damian realizes that to truly free himself, he must dismantle this seal without simply destroying it, as that would cause the curse to pass to future generations. Guided by Nerrisa, who remembers part of her own family's alchemical practices, he reconfigures the energy within the seal, unraveling it carefully until it fades away, breaking the mansion's hold.
As Damian breaks the seal, the mansion itself resists, causing a chaotic upheaval as it tries to reassert control. He feels it pulling at him, trying to draw him back into the cycle. But Nerrisa stands beside him, grounding him in his choice. Together, they defy the mansion's last attempt, and he recites the incantation that finally releases his ancestors' spirits from their earthly bonds. As they leave, Damian finds a hidden journal left by a family member who once tried to break the curse. In it, he reads about the paths they almost took, the one that they hoped would save future generations. The journal becomes both a symbol of what's possible and a way for Damian to honor his family without bearing their burdens. Nerrisa looks at the journal and told Damian that this is his family's grimore and within the grimore he found the philosopher stone which his grandfather mentioned i
n his own journal.
