The mansion was unusually busy that day. Raelynn wandered through the halls, occasionally pausing to take in the activity around her. She passed by Sloane, who was standing in front of what appeared to be a half-finished room, her arms crossed as she oversaw the workers.
"What's going on here?" Raelynn asked, stopping briefly.
Sloane turned, her sharp eyes softening a little at the sight of Raelynn. "Elion's orders," she said, gesturing toward the construction. "He wanted this medical room built in case, you know… God forbid something happens. We'll be prepared."
Raelynn blinked, her gaze flickering between Sloane and the workers. The idea hit hard, but she said nothing. "I see. He's… thorough," she said quietly before turning to leave.
"Understatement of the year," Sloane muttered under her breath as Raelynn walked away.
