I paced outside the medical wing, my mind racing as I waited for news about Kieran. My hands were trembling, still stained with his blood, and every second that passed felt like an eternity. I couldn't get the image of him falling in front of me out of my head. 

His strength, his bravery, his willingness to protect me without a second thought—it all played over and over like a cruel memory I couldn't escape.

The door to the medical wing remained closed, and my heart ached with fear. I wanted to storm in and demand answers, but I knew the healers needed space to work. Still, standing here and doing nothing felt unbearable.

Captain Gerard's stern voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Princess Isabella, what were you thinking about going out with just Kieran? You know how dangerous it is for you right now."
