Kapitel 47: Chapter 44: God? The Will of Honkai!

"Yeah, even the old antique, Su, and I can cook. It's not great, but at least it's edible," Fu Shi shrugged helplessly.

"But Fu Lin, for some reason, makes food that's not just bad—it's inedible," Fu Shi recalled Fu Lin's cooking attempts, her face turning serious.

"I suspect he's cursed by Mei, the herrscher of rice" Fu Shi whispered, checking her surroundings before leaning in close to Yae Sakura's fox ears to share her suspicion.

---------------------------

"Raiden Mei?" Yae Sakura asked curiously.

"Mei is the type of person whose cooking is terrifying," Fu Shi said, making a funny face and speaking dramatically.

"Pfft!"

"Did you just laugh?" Fu Shi asked, looking at Yae Sakura, who was covering her mouth.

"Please continue." Yae Sakura put down her hand and assumed a serious expression.

"You two are having a good time, huh~" Fu Lin said, pressing down on Fu Shi's shoulder. His face looked ghostly, with crimson eyes glowing eerily.

"Exactly like that!" Fu Shi said excitedly, glancing at the head beside him.

"Behind you… Fu Lin just woke up," Yae Sakura reminded Fu Shi, who hadn't reacted yet.

"Hi!" Fu Shi stiffly turned his head, awkwardly raised his hand, and greeted the dark-faced Fu Lin.

"..."

"What's the mission? What rewards did you get?"

Fu Lin listed the system's compensations, his expression darkening. He clenched his fists tightly before collapsing onto the bed, covering his tearful eyes with his arm as he recalled the escape from the Babylon Tower. They had been so close—just a little closer...

After shaking off the scientist pursuing him, Fu Lin made his way to the room where Sirin was confined. After scanning the surroundings, he quietly opened the door and slipped inside.

"I'll get you out of here by dawn," Fu Lin said gently, leaning against the door as he looked at Sirin.

"Uncle… are you sure we can really leave this place?" Sirin leaned against Fu Lin, her tone filled with worry.

Two people acting out a scripted charade...

"Don't worry, everything is under my control," Fu Lin said with a confident smile, patting his chest in reassurance.

"Alright, big brother," Sirin looked at Fu Lin smiling in front of her and whispered softly in a voice only she could hear.

Then, resting her head on Fu Lin's lap, she slowly closed her eyes. Watching this, Fu Lin took the blanket Bella handed him and covered Sirin.

1:00 a.m...

"Sirin, Sirin..." As the time to escape approached, Bella attempted to wake Sirin, but Fu Lin stopped her.

"I'll carry her. You go wake up Avrora, Agata and Galina" Fu Lin said softly, carefully shifting his position to carry Sirin on his back, trying not to disturb her sleep.

"Okay," Bella nodded and turned to wake the others.

"Uncle, do we really have to leave this early?" Agata asked groggily, sitting up and looking at Fu Lin and the sleeping Sirin on his back.

"Now is the best time to leave," Fu Lin replied, a vein popping on his forehead as he looked at the carefree Agata.

"Then hurry up," Agata said, giving Fu Lin a kick on the butt.

Agata's casual attitude made Fu Lin grit his teeth in frustration. He silently vowed to settle the score with her once everything was over. If he didn't spank her until her backside blossomed, he'd take her last name instead!

"Uncle, are you thinking something bad about me?" Agata teased, walking behind Fu Lin with a mischievous grin.

"Of course not! And keep your voice down. Don't wake the guards," Fu Lin said, hastily covering her mouth and glancing nervously down the hallway.

...

"Is anyone there? Uncle, where are we?" Sirin called out in confusion, looking around the brightly lit space. Fear gripped her as she cried out.

"Stop shouting. There's no one here." A distant, ethereal voice came from behind Sirin. The sheer otherworldliness of the sound made Sirin tremble all over, nearly collapsing to the ground.

"Who are you?" Sirin, sitting weakly on the ground, asked in the direction of the voice.

"… You can call me The Will of Honkai… or God," the ethereal voice replied after a brief hesitation.

"I'm Sirin," Sirin said cautiously, introducing herself as she slowly turned around.

"I know." The voice of the self-proclaimed God answered once more.

Sirin looked up and saw a figure sitting on a throne in front of her—one that looked exactly like herself.

"Why do you look just like me?" Sirin asked in amazement, an innocent smile lighting up her face.

"Do you desire the power to change the world?" The "God" rose from the throne, a subtle smile playing on their lips as they approached Sirin.

"No, I don't. I just want to live a carefree life with my big brother," Sirin shook her head and expressed her heartfelt wish.

"… We'll meet again soon," the God said with a satisfied nod before disappearing before Sirin's eyes.

"What a strange person," Sirin muttered with a blank expression as she watched the scene fade away.

"You can sleep a little longer; everything's fine," Fu Lin's doting voice echoed in her ears as she opened her eyes. She snuggled contentedly against his back.

"I just had a dream about a strange person," Sirin whispered as she recounted her experience to Fu Lin.

Fu Lin's tone turned slightly serious. "… Why are you telling me this?"

"Hmph! I'm just letting you know. Don't overthink it," Sirin puffed up like an indignant little pufferfish, glaring at Fu Lin.

"Got it," Fu Lin replied nonchalantly, further annoying Sirin.

'God… God! Could it be the Honkai Will? Why would it still approach Sirin when she hasn't undergone any Honkai experiments…?'

'Damn it. Things are going off track. That Honkai Will really knows how to stir up trouble,' Fu Lin thought, frowning deeply at the unwelcome appearance of the Will of Honkai.

Will of Honkai:...

"We're almost at the exit. Stay alert," Fu Lin said, stopping in his tracks as an uneasy feeling washed over him.

"Then let's hurry up and get out of here," Agata said, clenching her fists, her eyes gleaming with hope as she looked toward the outside world.

"Yeah…" Fu Lin responded, glancing at Bella, who silently held Avrora and Galina's hands, following him closely.

As they pushed open the door, they were met with a blinding light, causing everyone to shield their eyes. After a moment, they adjusted to see a group of fully armed guards waiting for them.

Fu Lin immediately realized they had been exposed. Thinking back to how carefully they had avoided detection, he now understood that their escape had been suspiciously smooth, almost as if someone had deliberately cleared the path for them.

"Damn it!" Fu Lin clenched his fists, realizing they had walked into a trap.

Avrora and Galina, unaccustomed to such situations, clung fearfully to Bella. Even Agata, usually confident, nervously hid behind Fu Lin, peeking out from behind him at the guards.

Clap, clap, clap!

"Congratulations on reaching the final stage," came a familiar voice from the crowd. Without even looking, Fu Lin knew who it was.

Could the Overseer of Schicksal really be so idle? Otto showing up in this desolate place had to mean there was another motive.

"And you are?" Fu Lin feigned ignorance, his expression blank as he turned toward Otto.

"Otto Apocalypse, or the Overseer of Schicksal, as you might've heard," Otto said, tipping his hat and placing it against his chest.

"This isn't your original appearance, is it?" Otto remarked casually, stroking his chin with an air of intrigue.

'As expected of the Overseer of Schicksal' Fu Lin sighed as his disguise was seen through. He loosened the hair tied to his finger, reverting to his original appearance.
