85.71% His Wife Is the Real Boss / Chapter 18: She Must Pay the Price

Kapitel 18: She Must Pay the Price

Due to her tall stature, her seat had been placed in the middle of the last row. Normally, her desk was spotless, not a single book in sight. But now, it was covered in a chaotic array of books, smeared with ink, blackened like a pot of stew gone wrong.

The faint scent of ink lingered in the air.

The classroom was eerily quiet, with no one—neither the boys nor the girls—daring to speak. Even the teacher stood frozen at the podium, dumbfounded and speechless.

Tang Qianmiao stood beside the podium, her head tilted slightly, her usually languid gaze now piercingly cold. "Who did this?"

Her voice was calm, but the chill in it was unmistakable.

"I did." A brazen, defiant voice rang out.

In the next moment, a short-haired girl stood up. She wore pants under her school uniform skirt, a white shirt emblazoned with unique, rebellious designs, and chewed gum with an air of casual insolence. Her every movement exuded the aura of a street delinquent.

She was quite pretty, but her sharp edges made it hard for anyone to truly appreciate her beauty.

She glanced at Tang Qianmiao, then slowly sauntered over to her desk. Without a word, she kicked the desk over, grinding her foot into the scattered books beneath it.

Turning her head, she sneered at Tang Qianmiao, her grin arrogant and mocking. "Angry?"

Tang Qianmiao had never met this girl before. It was their first encounter.

But one look at her desk told Tang Qianmiao she was Lu Wanyu, the girl who had been absent for the past two weeks.

It wasn't that Tang Qianmiao had taken a particular interest in her. On her first day, a helpful classmate had briefed her on the class dynamics.

With well-meaning advice, she had been told to steer clear of Lu Wanyu—the class's queen bee and a notorious school bully, constantly causing trouble with a gang of delinquents. Teachers found her a constant headache.

Tang Qianmiao looked at her, a faint smile playing on her lips, her eyes calm. "May I ask why?"

Her words, though polite and accompanied by a smile, carried no hint of weakness or fear.

Lu Wanyu straightened, her gaze distant. "You don't know? Hmm? After all that's been done, now you're going to play dumb?" She sneered, her expression darkening. "Are you looking for trouble?"

She advanced step by step toward the podium, her cold eyes fixed on Tang Qianmiao. Addressing the others in the room, she commanded, "Close the doors, now!"

Terrified, a few students immediately shut both the front and back doors.

In the next instant, Lu Wanyu's eyes filled with malice, her hand reaching for Tang Qianmiao's collar, ready to grab her.

At that critical moment, the whole class collectively held its breath.

Just when they thought Tang Qianmiao was about to be thrown around, Lu Wanyu's wrist was suddenly caught mid-air by Tang Qianmiao, effortlessly held in a tight grip!

Lu Wanyu squinted, applying more force, but it was useless—she couldn't get anywhere near Tang Qianmiao's neck.

On the contrary, Tang Qianmiao held her wrist with ease, steady and calm, while Lu Wanyu's hand trembled.

Unwilling to back down, Lu Wanyu raised her other hand, but that too was swiftly captured by Tang Qianmiao.

Lu Wanyu let out a cold laugh, her entire being consumed by a violent, bloodthirsty energy. She struggled fiercely, but no matter how much force she applied, she couldn't break free from Tang Qianmiao's grasp, her legs even beginning to wobble.

Her innate competitiveness refused to let her concede defeat, and she quickly resorted to using her legs.

But just as she raised her leg, Tang Qianmiao threw her over her shoulder in one swift, merciless motion, slamming her to the ground with a loud thud.

The air in the room froze, terrifying the entire class.

The teacher hurriedly spoke up, panic in his voice, "Both of you, calm down, please! Talk it out, explain the situation. Tang Qianmiao, don't resort to violence, let her explain herself."

Tang Qianmiao's gaze remained composed and cool. "We'll get to the reason, but since she destroyed my desk, she has to pay the price."

Kapitel 19: Facing the Consequences

### Chapter 19: Facing the Consequences

Lu Wanyu clutched her aching shoulder as she stood up, a tear in her knee and dust clinging to her clothes, looking rather disheveled. Yet, her gaze remained defiant.

She scoffed coldly, "Destroyed your desk? This is just tit for tat! You were the one who threw all my books away first!"

Through gritted teeth, she continued, "I was careless just now, but if you have the guts, meet me after school. I'll beat you so badly, even your parents won't recognize you!"

Tang Qianmiao regarded her with indifference. "I threw away your books? Do you have proof?"

Before Lu Wanyu could respond, another classmate interjected, "Not only did she throw away your books, but she also stuffed your desk with filth. Compared to that, what she did to you was light."

The girl who spoke was dressed similarly to Lu Wanyu, her tone filled with indignation, clearly angered on her friend's behalf.

Tang Qianmiao's expression remained emotionless. "Empty accusations are pointless. Either show me evidence or apologize."

Lu Wanyu sneered, "Evidence, is it? I'll give you some right now."

She walked over and grabbed a girl who had her head lowered. "Tell her what you saw that day!"

The girl trembled all over, her head still bowed.

"I… I…"

"Speak!"

Tang Qianmiao watched the scene unfold with a calm gaze.

The frightened girl stammered, "Last... last Friday, it was my turn to clean the classroom. When I was done, only Tang Qianmiao and I were left. I went to take out the trash, leaving her alone. When I returned, she was gone, and in my rush to go home, I forgot to lock the classroom door... I only mentioned that it could have been her, I never said it was definitely her."

But before she could finish, Lu Wanyu had already sought revenge on Tang Qianmiao.

Hearing this, Lu Wanyu's face darkened. "Damn it! Why didn't you say that earlier?"

She slowly loosened her grip on the girl's collar, her eyes darting about, clearly lost in thought.

"So this is the 'evidence' you were talking about?" Tang Qianmiao asked.

Lu Wanyu, now less confident, remained silent, though her expression was still one of fury.

Mistaking someone for an enemy—this had never happened to her before.

At that moment, the teacher spoke cautiously, "There's surveillance in the classroom. We can check it to find out what really happened."

Both girls followed the teacher to the surveillance room.

The footage from last Friday showed that Tang Qianmiao had not left her seat, nor had she approached Lu Wanyu's desk.

The truth was clear—Tang Qianmiao wasn't the culprit.

Lu Wanyu, anxious, demanded, "What about later? I want to see the real culprit!"

The school officer fast-forwarded the footage, but his face suddenly changed. "This… why is there nothing? The most recent footage is from this morning. Strange, how could it be missing?"

Tang Qianmiao glanced at the screen, already understanding the situation, but she had no interest in meddling further. "May I leave now?"

She turned to go.

"Wait!"

Lu Wanyu stepped in front of her, her expression resolute. "I, Lu Wanyu, always own up to my mistakes. I was wrong to accuse you earlier, and I destroyed your books with this hand."

Without hesitation, she grabbed a metal rod from the security office and struck her own hand with it, not even pausing to think.

"Stop it, Lu Wanyu!" the teacher cried out in shock.

But it was too late. The blow was heavy, beads of sweat instantly forming on her forehead from the pain.

Despite the agony, she didn't scream. Clutching her arm, she looked at Tang Qianmiao. "I'll make it up to you for the desk and the books."

Tang Qianmiao was slightly surprised by her actions but said nothing, and simply walked away.
