Lucia felt a little embarrassed, but she had to be truthful now. "The placement of the core will be handled by a representative from Eryx. My role here is merely to oversee the construction of the portal."
"Then I'll help. With me around, we can finish this in a month. I can even get the materials you need—just point me in the right direction," he suggested.
"That's only half the problem. Even if we manage to finish ahead of schedule, the decision of when to deliver the dragon core rests with them. They're not in a hurry, and I've heard of some cities having to wait years for their turn."
"Years? That's too long," he shook his head. "What if I go to Eryx directly?"
"And what exactly do you think you could accomplish?" her eyebrow was raised in skepticism.
"Ask them for a core."
