KIERAN 

Amelia's conditions threatened to drive me crazy. She had pulled out a sheet of paper that morning, and on it was a list of things she wanted me yo add to the contract.

I was about to read it when my phone buzzed with a work email, and I had left her in the apartment to drive down to deal with the company emergency.

By the time I settled in my office later that day to read the mail, I realised that I had fucked up. I should have read it and crossed out a lot of things immediately, right there in her face.

The list was nothing but ridiculous.

She had listed a number of things she would want me to do, since I wasn't going to marry her, and I swear I would have given anything to just go on with the marriage, if only to avoid the this embarrassment in form of a compromise.
