"Bullshit!" An injured devil cried out, glaring angrily at Hades, "Hundreds of devils died, because of her! You want us to hand her over to you!? Stop dreaming!"

Hades stared at the injured devil, ignored him, and then turned to look at Starrk, "What do you say?"

Starrk sighed.

He knew that if he agreed to this condition, it will definitely reach the ears of the higher ups, and they can use this as an excuse get him out of Serafall's peerage.

They can call him 'traitor' or something, declare it publicly, and have the entire devil race force Serafall on trading him off.

Seriously, stuff like this is just not on Starrk's alley.

'I hate politics,' Starrk groaned internally, "Fall back. I'll handle this."

The injured devil hesitated, but immediately retreated under Starrk's stern eyes.

"So?" Hades asked, this time he landed on the ground. His eyes turned towards Eris who appears to have fallen unconscious on the ground.

Starrk scratches his head, "Yeah, I can't do that. It'd be a whole lot of trouble if I actually agreed, now that I think about it."

"A fight then." Hades materialized a bident with a swirling blade, "I guess it can't be avoided."

Starrk hummed, before deciding to intimidate Hades with his Reiatsu, letting it flow out wildly.

"Not to brag, but I'm strong. So can't we just, I don't know, pretend that we're fighting seriously or something?"

Hades eyes widened in surprised.

'Seriously?' He stared at Starrk grimly, 'I only ever felt this sort of oppressive power when I fought Shiva and that Vampire before.'

It surprised him. Shiva, or rather the whole Hindu Trinity each possess powers to be called the strongest beings in the world.

And that certain Vampire can be considered as the ultimate lifeform of the planet itself, power wise, it wouldn't lose to the Hindu Trinity at all.

Each of them are simply heads and shoulders above the rest, and it made Hades doubt whether their power are still within the realm of comprehension.

In the whole of Greece, Hades' power is only behind that of Khaos, the Primordial One, the strongest being in Greece, and whose power is only below that of the Hindu Trinity and that Vampire.

But even so, Hades was confident that he wouldn't lose to that guy.

That Vampire and the Hindu Trinity are completely different. Hades can't even fathom their strength. Their powers are simply out of this world.

Hades believed that they are the closest to matching a "Beast".

And now, he was actually feeling the same oppressive strength as those two coming from this man in front of him?!

"What a beast," Hades muttered under his breath, "Since when did devils have someone like you?"

Starrk shrugs, not bothering to give any verbal reply.

At this moment, Hades suddenly attacked.

Raising his bident, Hades gathered his divine power to his arms before throwing the bident towards Starrk.

Like a shooting star, the bident flew towards Starrk in a speed impossible for normal eyes to follow.

Starrk reacted quickly, with his sword unsheathed, he swung down to meet the falling bident.

He managed to casually deflect it without putting much of an effort. It was like an egg hitting a rock.

Hades smiled wryly, "I put 80% of my power in that throw. You didn't even change expression."

The bident flew back to his hands.

Starrk shrugs, lowering his sword.

Hades sighed. It was just a simple clash, but it is enough for him to see the difference in strength between the two of them.

However, Hades was actually feeling excitement. It has been awhile since he actually managed to have a decent fight.

The Hindu Trinity doesn't like to be disturb, that Vampire was wandering around the world and no one knows where she is, and Khaos is always sleeping on the void.

The only person Hades can fight who is stronger than him is Indra, and that man was always hanging around with the Monkey King and likes to meddle with human affairs, leaving him little to no time to spar with him.

He had already forgotten about Eris at this point, with said goddess crawling away silently to try and escape.

Grinning, Hades raised his hand, "The Blackest Night falls from the skies. The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise. By my Black Hand, the dead shall rise! [Pluto]!"

Starrk immediately felt the surroundings, and even he himself was slowly being drained by power.

Frowning, he forced his spiritual energy back into him, preventing it from being sucked away.

'What's happening?' He frowned, staring directly at Hades.

At this moment, although Hades' appearance did not change, Starrk felt like he just undergone a Resurreccion due to how significantly powerful Hades is at this moment.

"I am the God of the Dead, Lord of the Spirits and King of Underworld." said Hades, smiling at Starrk, "All those who have died belongs to me. As long as the concept of death exist, my power is inexhaustible."

Starrk sighed, this fight just got more troublesome.

Then, Hades made a move. He disappeared from sight and appeared behind Starrk, trusting his bident straight at the back of his head.

Reacting quickly, Starrk twisted to the side and avoided it, while simultaneously counterattacking by swinging his sword.

Hades quickly retracted the spear and blocked the attack, before advancing and launched his own attack.

There was no fancy lights, no flashy attacks, it is a pure and basic contest of skills and techniques.

Finally, Starrk summoned another sword as he was far more experienced in dual wielding.

Starrk deflected the bident before moving to attack Hades, however, the God of the Dead reacted first, he took advantage of his weapon's longer reach and thrusted a jab against Starrk.

The attack was parried, forcing Hades to raise his bident up to block two consecutive thrusts aimed for his neck and chest.

The bident gonged out as he was pushed back with each hit. His body then twisted with the movement of his spear arm for a wide swing.

When Starrk parried the strike, Hades returned it with an even more ferocity to prevent him from following up.

Starrk's two blades cut through the air as steel clashed against steel. They increased in rhythm and intensity without pause.

The battle between the pair became a storm of steel with winds cutting down anything in its path. The grounds shattered like clay from their clash.

The audience, the remaining soldiers who witnessed this scene, was silenced by the display of skills.

Hades took a step back.

Starrk took a step forward.

Starrk took a step back.

Hades took a step forward.

They were equals. Their exchanged seems to have last for eternity as the two of them completely ignored the surroundings.

It was then that Starrk bashed his sword straight towards Hades spear with a force that it recoiled his arm away.

The right sword went through the motion for a horizontal swipe as a cover for the underlying thrust by the left sword.

Starrk stomped down his right foot forward to add torque to the attack, but Hades was already in position to block.

The sword met the spear, but the force from the attack was only able to blast Hades back, sending him flying a few dozen of meters away.

But not be outdone, Hades pointed the bident at Starrk as an orb of spiraling dark energy formed at the tip of his spear.

"Persephone Roa!"

A wave of black and purple spiraling energy shot towards Starrk.

At this time, Starrk pointed his finger at the attack as a blue energy gathered at the tip of his finger.

"Cero."

A blast of blue energy shot out and meet the opposite blast.

The resulting preasure from the two attack sundered the nearby space, it seemed as if the world itself was sucked by the void and turned inside out.

Who would believe that this scene was caused by a clash between two energy attack?

The sky distorted, and the earth was shredded like a paper put in a blender.

Finally, the energies of two opposing powers canceled each other out and dispersed into the surroundings.

Though, this dispersion left tornadoes that ripped and tore their way to the surrounding landscape.

"Haa!" Hades stabbed his bident on the ground as he stood up from having been sent flying by Starrk earlier. "You're crazy."

"I think I'm prefectly sane." Starrk replied.

Hades chuckled, shaking his head before looking up, "I can sense that brat Falbium approaching us here. I guess we can't continue anymore."

"I guess." Starrk nodded, flicking his wrist and causing the twin blades to disappear into motes of lights.

Hades observed Starrk, "How much power were you holding back?"

Starrk shrugs, "Who knows?"

"What an annoying fellow," Hades sighed, "But I also held back quite a bit. I still have something up my sleeve that I reserved only when I get to fight against one of the Hindu Trinity, preferably Shiva. Or that Vampire. Want to see it?"

Starrk shook his head, "Not interested."

"Oh well."

It was at this moment that a person suddenly landed on the ground in great speed, causing a small crater.

The person stood up, revealing Falbium Asmodeus wearing an armor, looking stern and serious.

He stared at Starrk, before turning his gaze to Hades.

"Lord Hades, you have crossed into our border. You know this can be interpreted as an act of war, right?" Falbium revealed his pitch black, bat-like wings.

Hades smirked, "Yeah. But I am only here to retrieve my naughty subordinate. No need to worry, I have no intention on going to war with you devils."

Falbium hid it, but he breathe a sigh of relief. If Hades were to really go to war with the devils, it might cause the devil race to go extinct.

Hades alone can cause a catastrophic losses to the devils, much less the group of underworld gods and goddesses under him.

"However, now I am more interested in him." Hades pointed at Starrk, "He's a reincarnated devil right? Where did he came from?"

Falbium looked at Starrk before shaking his head, "I do not know lord Hades. He is Serafall Leviathan's Queen. As for where she got him, I have no idea. She just appeared during our meeting and declared that she found a queen."

"I see." Hades nodded, before looking around and spotted Eris trying to escape. With a wave of his hand, the Goddess of Strife was pulled towards him. "I will punish the perpetrator of this invasion, and I will personally talk to your council regarding the compensation."

Falbium wanted to keep the goddess, but decided against it, "Very well. We will wait for your arrival, Lord Hades."

Hades turned towards Starrk, "That was great fight, Coyote Starrk. I will come and find you from time to time."

"Please don't," Starrk seriously begged.

But Hades pretended not to hear and disappeared from this place.

Falbium was finally able to sigh in relief. Being in the presence of such a being was very nerve wracking.

Then, he turned towards Starrk and stared at him in doubt and surprise, "You fought Lord Hades?"

Starrk sighed. He just knew things are going to get even more complicated.
