Kapitel 72: Snow flakes

You all should be thinking where did the fridge come from in Year 1190. The simple answer? System. It got all the items covered I didn't even had to buy most of the items in the house they were in the gacha , but system totally cheated my points away as one gacha costs me 10000 LP and I get a Samsung smart Refrigerator with a screen yeah totally not worth it.

The house we're currently in isn't just a house; it's a palace on wheels. Think of a royal horse-drawn carriage, anime-style, pulled by three skeleton Pegasus. Yes, they have wings, and yes, they can fly. In fact, while we're having lunch right now, we're soaring through the skies. Cool, right?

The carriage was worth it way better than a Refregerator.

The interiors of the carriage?i Completely modified it with space-expansion magic. From the outside, it looks like a regular carriage, but inside, it's a fully modern house wooden cozy furnished with a Fire place. The kitchen is sleek and well-equipped, there's a jacuzzi and a shower for relaxation, and the living room is cozy with all the modern comforts, I fully used my arkitect and interior designer skill. There's a single bedroom with a plush bed that screams luxury. The windows, which appear small from the outside, transform into floor-to-ceiling windows on the inside, flooding the space with sunlight and creating a cozy, aesthetic atmosphere. Everything inside is solar-powered—not with basic solar panels but with energy drawn from a very special source (we'll get to that in a moment).

This carriage is our traveling base, used whenever we're on the move. While it's not our permanent home, it feels like one.

Back to power source,to give you some context, this story begins over a hundred years ago, long before we met the Five Hunters. Back then, we were attending a Walpurgis Conference in the African Savanna. Elijah, Aro, and Tristan were eager to expand their influence beyond Europe, while Klaus, Finn, Kol, and I had no interest in such political matters. I was just there for the scenery and a bit of fun.

While sightseeing, Celene suddenly became curious about what lion meat might taste like. This sparked an idea in Finn's mind to go hunting—just like we used to back at the De-Martel's castle. The rest of us quickly agreed, eager for some sport. However, the girls—Rebekah, Aurora, Evelyn, Celene, and Sage (Finn's recent romantic interest)—decided to stay back at the camp. They were more interested in searching through Evelyn's extensive collection of cookbooks for lion meat recipes.

After a successful hunt, we returned to camp, only to find a blackened figure impaled on a long stake. The scene was grim: the figure was alive, writhing in pain, the stake piercing its stomach and spine. Beside him stood a hooded figure, his aura as dark as the night.

As we approached, the hooded figure approached us and knelt before me. "My lord," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.

"Who is that Vlad" I asked .He answered "When Master and His friends were gone I noticed a figure sneaking..."

The impaled figure turned out to be a decade-old vampire. His crime? He had attempted to use compulsion on the girls, intending to force himself on them. Before he could carry out his despicable act, he was intercepted and impaled by my soul slave, Vlad. He was a war general ,I met him when I was going to battlefields collecting souls , he was dying so I gave him vampire blood and turned him into a soul slave he was half dead.

I named him Vlad after witnessing his unique impaling technique, strikingly similar to Vlad in Dracula Untold. Vlad always follows the girls in secret when I'm not there for extra safety, though they don't need it. Still this time, he had done his job perfectly.

"Good job, Vlad," I praised him, my voice firm.

"It is my duty to serve my lord," he replied with a tone as cold as ice.

The impaling technique Vlad used was particularly brutal. The vampire was positioned in such a way that gravity would slowly drag him down the stake. If the stake were designed to stop sliding, the only way off would be to climb up—a painful and almost impossible task for someone pierced through their stomach and spine. He was trapped, utterly helpless.

Klaus and I were livid. How dare he even think of such a thing? As punishment, we turned him into a living battery. Using extraction magic circuits, we devised a system to drain his life force continuously, powering our carriage and all its modern equipment. A secondary circuit ensured he remained alive, replenishing his life force through vampirism by drawing energy from the sun. The process subjected him to constant pain—a fitting punishment for his crime.

Now, back to the present. We were having lunch inside the carriage. Evelyn was seated on my left, Rebekah on my right, and Aurora was perched on my lap, clinging to me as she often did. Some days, Aurora preferred to be hand-fed, which made the others jealous. To keep the peace, we had established a schedule. Today was Aurora's turn, and she was practically glowing with happiness.

Our dining table was positioned right beside one of the floor-to-ceiling windows, which were slightly ajar to let in the crisp winter air. The cold didn't bother us, but the aesthetic—snowflakes drifting in and melting on the polished wood—added a certain charm. The view outside was breathtaking: an endless expanse of snow-covered mountains and forests, illuminated by the golden light of the setting sun.

As I gazed out the window, lost in the beauty of the moment, a sudden, sharp pain jolted me back to reality. My waist burned, and the serene world of frost and snowflakes vanished in an instant.

"What on earth—?!" I yelped, turning my head sharply.

Evelyn's mischievous grin greeted me. Her fingers were firmly pinching my waist, twisting cruelly.

"What are you doing?!" I demanded, trying to wiggle free.

Leaning closer, her grin widened. "Did the snowflakes make you remember something?"

Her voice dropped into a knowing tone, and my heart sank. I felt the weight of three predatory gazes locking onto me—Evelyn's, Rebekah's, and Aurora's. Their expressions were unreadable, but their intent was clear.

Rebekah leaned in, her voice honeyed but with an edge. "Come on, tell us. What were you thinking about?"

Aurora tightened her grip on my arm, her voice soft but insistent. "You were smiling. Was it a memory? Something sweet?"

I froze, my instincts screaming danger.' This is a trap, I thought. I don't like where this is going.'

AUTHORS NOTE:

Hope you like it I edited the whole thing 3 times until it felt right.

I am currently working on Doppelgangers theory on how the Doppelganger shit works and why it seems like doppelgangers are missing and if the time interval is 500 years for doppelgangers so How the fuck Tom Avery was born at that timeline as it was less than 200 year difference .

In that theory I tried to explain the fucked up shit that the makers of the series did.
