Natasha Romanoff watched "Ethan Hayes" walk away with suspicion. His sudden change in attitude unnerved her, making her feel like she was losing something valuable. Taking a deep breath, she realized how strange people could be when they feared losing what they valued. But Natasha's life had never been her own.
She parked her car on the side of the road, staring in disbelief as she saw a blonde woman, youthful and glowing, nestled next to Ethan. Without hesitation, Natasha reversed her car and sped back to the Osborn Group.
Her instincts screamed that the Ethan she had just seen was an imposter. The real Ethan, the playboy who could charm anyone with his flattery, wouldn't have acted so off-key.
Meanwhile, inside the Osborn Group, the real Ethan Hayes stood by Gwen, who beamed excitedly after finishing her exams.
"I finished the exams!" Gwen exclaimed with excitement, her eyes sparkling. "I've officially graduated from high school!"
"Congratulations, Gwen," Ethan said warmly.
"But it's a shame we can't go to college together," Gwen pouted, clearly disappointed.
Ethan chuckled. "You know the Osborn Group's strategy for the next four years is important. I can't just sit in a classroom doing nothing. It's better to focus on the business now and get a head start."
Gwen wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him affectionately. "You've changed, you know. I haven't seen you for a week, and you're… different."
Ethan supported her with one hand, smiling. "Well, I am the top richest man in New York now. I have to mature, right?"
Gwen laughed, her eyes shining. "I knew my boyfriend would be the best."
"And my girlfriend is the most beautiful," Ethan whispered as they closed the door, and they were soon wrapped in a moment of passion.
In Hell's Kitchen, Jessica Jones returned to her apartment, collapsing onto her couch. She had been focusing entirely on her detective work, but there was always a part of her that couldn't stop thinking about Ethan. He had once been like a child to her, and yet, over time, he became something more—a protector, a friend, and something much closer.
"God, I haven't seen him in weeks," she murmured, shaking her head to clear her thoughts.
Suddenly, a loud crash interrupted her. Smoke bombs flew through the window, filling her apartment with thick, choking gas. Jessica's instincts kicked in. The attackers moved quickly, breaching the door with precision. Before she could react, armed soldiers cornered her with guns raised.
"Give up, or we'll kill you," a deep voice commanded.
Jessica, feeling the intense threat, slammed through the wall and bolted into the street, moving with her superhuman strength. She knew she was being hunted. As she ran, her mind raced. She had no idea who was after her but knew the danger was real.
Without hesitation, she pulled out her phone and called Ethan. No answer. Panic set in as she quickly sent a desperate text message: "Help me!"
Meanwhile, Emil Bronski, a middle-aged soldier with a cruel smile, watched Jessica's escape with glee. His transformation into the green monster of hatred, Abomination, allowed him to easily overpower Jessica. Her superhuman strength was no match for his brutality, and soon enough, she was restrained, limbs broken, a bomb strapped to her neck.
"Take her away," Bronski ordered coldly. His mission had just begun.
As they drove away, Bronski contemplated his next move. "Jessica Jones will draw him out," he mused, knowing Ethan Hayes would come for her.
"Sir, why not kidnap Gwen instead?" one of the soldiers asked.
Bronski sneered. "Kidnap Gwen? He'd destroy the entire country. Jessica is enough to lure him."
Back at Ethan's place, Gwen was still sound asleep when Ethan checked his phone and saw Jessica's message. His heart raced as he quickly pieced together the situation. Jessica was in trouble.
"Gwen, I have to go. Something urgent came up," Ethan said, kissing her forehead before heading out.
He arrived at Jessica's apartment to find it swarming with police. Clearly, they were too late. Without wasting time, Ethan drove straight to Matt's law firm.
"Matt," Ethan said, bursting into the office. "I need information about what happened in Hell's Kitchen last night."
Matt, his friend and confidante, sighed deeply. "Jessica was taken by Emil Bronski, better known as Abomination. He's dangerous, Ethan."
"I know who he is," Ethan replied coldly. "Thanks, Matt."
As he left, his phone rang. It was Bronski. "I think you're looking for me, Mr. Hayes," came the sneering voice on the other end.
"Abomination," Ethan hissed, his anger barely contained.
"If you want Jessica alive, you'll come to Nevada. I've sent you the coordinates. You have thirty minutes before the bomb on her neck detonates."
A photo appeared on Ethan's screen—Jessica, battered, chained, a bomb strapped to her neck.
"You're testing me," Ethan muttered. "Fine. You've made your move."
The clock was ticking, and Ethan knew that the trap was set. He had no time for second thoughts. Using his Phantom Fist techniques and harnessing his elemental powers, he flew across the country in mere minutes, arriving in Nevada. The crimson flames of his Destined Encounter ability trailed behind him as he soared across the sky.
Time was running out.
As he approached the desolate prison where Jessica was being held, he braced himself for what was to come. The battle ahead would test him like never before, and Emil Bronski had no idea what he had unleashed.
"The fish is hooked," Bronski said, watching Ethan's approach with a wicked smile.
Ethan, however, wasn't going to fall into this trap so easily. This was more than just a rescue mission. It was personal.
