Seeing the overcrowding, Sam shook his head in contemplation, pulled out his tablet, and dialed a number.
"Call connected."
"I've arrived at the Municipal Corporation building," Sam said.
"Hold on a moment, sir. I'm on my way," came the voice from the other end.
"Alright," Sam replied and disconnected the call.
He glanced at the driver. "We'll be busy for a few hours. You've got time."
"Understood, sir," the driver replied, before settling back into the car.
Sam's secretary, standing beside him, asked, "Are we waiting or going in?"
"Do you really need to ask? We're going in, of course," Sam chuckled, already making his way toward the Municipal Corporation building.
The overwhelming crowd and deafening noise made Sam frown as he asked his secretary, "Is it always this chaotic at the Municipal Corporation?"
The secretary nodded, slightly amused. "Yes, sir," she replied, then added with curiosity, "Is this your first time here?"
*Cough*
Sam cleared his throat, slightly embarrassed. "Never had a reason to come before."
The secretary sighed, "In this crowded place, no one would ever believe you're the young billionaire. And to top it off, you've made it onto the rich list, so you must have your perks."
Sam simply hummed. "Hmm."
The secretary squinted her eyes, suddenly curious. "Is this deal for real, or is there something else going on?"
Sam glanced at her and nodded again. "I'll fill you in after the deal is done."
Her eyes lit up with intrigue. "I can't wait to hear why you had to come down here in person."
As they entered the building, a sharply dressed man approached Sam and said, "Sir, let me take you to the municipal commissioner's office."
Sam patted the man's shoulder and replied, "Sure," then turned to his secretary. "Let's go."
The secretary nodded. "Of course." She followed closely behind as they made their way into the office.
As they neared the office, the man glanced toward Sam and pointed. "Sir, this is the Commissioner's office."
Sam nodded. "Thanks for your help."
A faint smile appeared on the man's face as he nodded in return. "Alright, sir. I'll take my leave now." With that, he walked away.
The secretary smiled and teased, "Sir, you're far too humble for your position."
Glancing at the man's retreating figure, Sam smiled thoughtfully. "A simple 'thank you' might seem like a small word, but it carries a lot of power."
Turning to his secretary, he added, "We might forget him in a few days, but he'll remember us. Do you know why?"
The secretary grinned. "Sir, sometimes you forget that I'm your secretary and that I manage all of your companies. After all these years, I can read people's faces pretty well."
Sam chuckled at her remark. "Oh really? Then can you tell what I'm thinking right now?"
The secretary gave him a playful glare. "Boss, are you trying to use my own tricks on me?"
Shaking his head with a smile, Sam gently patted her shoulder. "Alright, enough joking around." He glanced toward the door. "Let's go."
The secretary nodded. "Yes, sir." And with that, they both entered the Municipal Commissioner's office.
As they both entered the commissioner's office, they noticed a middle-aged man, around 45 years old, with a few wrinkles lining his face. He sat in the office chair, reviewing documents spread out on the desk.
The man rose from his seat and, with a flattering tone, said, "Sir, had you informed us, I would have come to your building."
Sam offered a faint smile. "It's not a big deal," he waved dismissively. "Please, sit down, sir."
Taking his seat, the commissioner glanced at both Sam and his secretary. "Please, take your seats," he gestured.
Both sat down. The secretary, now taking a backseat in the conversation, sighed quietly, glancing at Sam. "This is my first time in a government office with Sir," she thought, sighing again. "They sure do enjoy their privileges."
Sam handed the document to the commissioner and asked calmly, "You know why I'm here, don't you?"
The middle-aged man nodded. "Yes, sir." He began flipping through the pages, but his gaze soon shifted toward Sam's secretary. Hesitantly, he looked back at Sam and raised a question, "Does she have the authority to know this information?"
The secretary straightened in her chair, glancing nervously at Sam. "Why are they provoking his bad side?" she thought, rubbing her palms together anxiously. "But I don't want to witness this," she continued, casting a quick glance at the commissioner. "He's practically digging his own grave. How do people like him end up in government positions—just another bootlicker for the rich."
Sam's eyes narrowed. His voice, calm yet authoritative, cut through the room. "Does she need authority?" His demeanor shifted as he crossed one leg over the other, resting his cheek on his hand. His presence filled the room. "If I want her to know, she will know. No one can stand in the way or..."
The middle-aged man's body shuddered as he quickly rose from his seat, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. "Sorry, sir, I didn't mean that." But seeing the indifferent, lifeless gaze of the man before him, he trembled again.
An instinctive thought crept in: Every businessman is terrifying if you get on the wrong side of it.
Desperate to correct his mistake, he glanced at Sam's secretary and quickly bowed his head. "I apologize, ma'am. That was my mistake."
The secretary, her lips tight, nodded briefly and uttered just a few words. "It's fine." Both of them then instinctively turned their eyes toward Sam.
I know it's hard for the reader to read but I'm also helpless.
I can't directly moved to game world without giving rough and clear view of the real world.
From Vol2: The game world will be introduce which will go to at Galaxy level so there wouldn't be much explanation of the real world. And only event and fight scene would happen in real world which would finally be connected with game world and at that time, I can't explain the stuff related real world in later scenario.
That's why I'm also putting my efforts and well-researching that you, guys won't bore.
