Calming his racing thoughts, Sam decided to take a nap to process everything. He laid down on the bed, sinking into the soft cushion, and allowed his mind to wander through the jumble of thoughts. As he glanced up at the ceiling, his attention drifted to the strange tattoo on his wrist. Gently massaging it with his thumb, he reflected on the series of strange events that had unfolded today—things he hadn't had a chance to fully process until now.
His first thought was about the tattoo, an intricate design enclosed in a circle. Suddenly, a realization surfaced, and he muttered, "I forgot the most important thing." With a calm yet determined motion, he raised his hand, and a glowing green crystal, about two inches long, materialized in his palm. Narrowing his eyes, he whispered, "This is the essence of that reincarnate."
His lips curled into a faint smile. "According to the information I received, this essence contains the memories and abilities of the reincarnate." Without hesitation, Sam popped the crystal into his mouth and swallowed it.
For a moment, nothing happened. His face twisted into a frown. "According to what I was told…" he began, but before he could finish, a sudden, excruciating pain surged through his entire body.
"Hisss!" he gasped, as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. Clenching his fists, his nails dug into his palms. His body twitched violently, but through gritted teeth, he muttered, "This pain… it's nothing compared to what I've endured before."
Gradually, his trembling ceased, and the color returned to his face. Taking a deep breath, Sam felt a wave of energy flood his veins. His lips parted in a euphoric sigh, his face flushed with excitement. "This power…" he murmured, clenching his fists tightly. With a more serious expression, he continued, "The memories of this reincarnate… his world is so far behind ours."
Shaking his head in mild confusion, he wondered aloud, "How did he appear in my consciousness?" He tried to focus on the memories, but a sharp, agonizing pain shot through his skull. Clutching his head, he hissed through clenched teeth, "Damn it! This pain is unbearable."
"Something's blocking me from accessing those memories… and the intensity of the pain…"
Sitting up on the bed, he rested his chin on his hand, his expression turning pensive as his mind sank into deep contemplation.
About ten minutes later, a voice echoed in the room, "I understand everything. I understand everything!" Sam stood up abruptly, his body trembling. He couldn't support himself, and with a *thud, he collapsed to the ground. Yet, there was no pain or frown on his face. Instead, a strange calmness washed over him as he whispered, "This will let me know everything... and it will become the path of my journey."
Somehow, he regained his composure and sat down on the couch. The familiar notebook and pen reappeared in his hands as if they had a will of their own. Turning to a fresh page, he wrote down: System.
Under his breath, he muttered, "System," and a panel suddenly materialized before his eyes.
With his trembling hand, he tried to touch the panel, but his fingers passed through it like air. He lowered his hand, forcing himself to breathe, "Sam! Calm down! This isn't the time to get lost in excitement! Focus—figure it all out."
Steadying himself, Sam once more muttered, "Disappear," and the panel vanished. He took a deep breath, calming the whirlwind inside him as he analyzed the situation aloud. "This is connected to my mind... I can access it through my thoughts or voice." This time, he tried again but in silence, mentally commanding, "System". The panel obediently reappeared before him.
He didn't experiment any further. Instead, he focused intently on the panel:
Rule Binding System
Level: 1
Host: Sam Raj
Talent: Devour [SSS] [+] [Can be upgraded]
Status: [Locked]
Map: [Locked]
Shop: [Locked]
Rule Binding Points: [0]
"Rule Binding System," Sam repeated, his thoughts racing. "There are no guide notes, but this panel reveals plenty of things."
First off: "The system shows the host's name as Sam Raj—my name. It also displays my talent, Devour, ranked SSS, with a plus sign, which likely means it can be upgraded."
His gaze sharpened as it settled on "Rule Binding Points". "These points must be the key to upgrading my Devour talent."
His eyes scanned the locked Status, Map, and Shop sections, and he remarked with a hint of confidence, "I run a gaming company; I know how these systems work better than anyone."
Finally, his attention rested on Level. "The system itself can be upgraded. More functions will unlock or evolve as I progress."
With a sigh of relief, Sam decided, "For now, the system is somehow under control. I'll hold off on tinkering with it."
His gaze drifted toward the strange tattoo on his arm. "Let's focus on the reincarnated memories and figure out everything this tattoo's given me."
First: "According to the memories, this tattoo is linked to a divine god and holds unimaginable power. As for the god's rank, nothing is revealed directly but based on the reactions of that reincarnates' reaction... this must belong to a god of the highest tier."
He patted his thigh thoughtfully. "This tattoo granted me the Devour talent, of an SSS-grade. I believe Devour allows me to consume anything, converting it into pure energy, along with absorbing its unique properties. I tested this when I devoured that green, shining crystal so I do have little knowledge regarding this and have to find out later."
With a calm yet determined air, Sam reflected, "The Status, Map, and Shop functions should unlock when the invasion begins. I have one month to get everything in order."
"Now, the game..." His eyes gleamed as he clenched his fist. "The game will begin in one month." A dark grin spread across his face as he chuckled. "And I already know exactly how it will play out."
With a sly smile, he muttered, "I'll prepare a grand feast for all of you."
