Kapitel 325: Chapter 325: Human, You're Playing with Fire

The middle-aged monkey trainer gestured towards the monkey and the demonic rooster.

"Look at them, they really seem to have a connection."

Indeed.

No one would ever think a monkey and a rooster would have anything in common.

Roosters eat rice, monkeys eat peaches.

Their diets and lifestyles are very different.

Suddenly, the demonic rooster flapped its wings in a rage, leaping up and angrily pecking at the monkey.

"Stop it!"

"Monkey..."

Both Lin Fan and the middle-aged man exclaimed.

The demonic monkey, quick as lightning, slapped the demonic rooster to the ground, stomping on it with its foot while baring its teeth and screeching angrily.

"What are you doing..."

"I am the Great Sage, Sun Wukong! You're asking for a beating."

The demonic monkey was domineering. Although both were demonic creatures forced to perform, this monkey felt superior. "Have you seen cartoons? No? Well, I have. They're awesome. Sun Wukong is my idol, my ancestor!"

The demonic rooster struggled beneath the monkey's foot, but its thin, frail body couldn't support its inner rage. It could only meekly submit.

"Don't fight! Get off him!" The middle-aged man hurriedly tried to break up the fight. Just moments ago, he had remarked on their connection, but in the blink of an eye, they were brawling. "I shouldn't have praised them. Every time I do, they cause trouble."

Freed from the monkey's foot, the demonic rooster glared at its attacker, flapping its wings and craning its neck as if to say, "I was just caught off guard. Your arrogant behavior has thoroughly enraged me... Let's have a one-on-one!"

Just as the demonic rooster was about to challenge the monkey again, an unfriendly gaze fell upon it.

The demonic rooster searched for the source of the look.

Looking around, its eyes finally landed pitifully on Lin Fan.

Its current identity was that of an undercover agent. It absolutely couldn't appear aggressive. When encountering a tough opponent, it had to seek help, and now, this foolish human was its only option.

"I lay eggs for you every day. Even if I have no merit, I've put in the effort. Now I'm being bullied by a monkey, you can't just ignore it."

Lin Fan squatted down, reaching out to gently tap the demonic rooster's head.

"You were doing so well just now. How can you bully others?"

"This kind of behavior is very bad."

"Quickly apologize to the monkey."

He didn't want the rooster to be like this. As his pet and part-time companion, it had to be polite. He had seen clearly that the rooster had initiated the attack, but it simply wasn't the monkey's match and got pinned down.

The demonic rooster stared wide-eyed.

"Did you not see clearly? I was the one who got beaten up by this demonic monkey!"

For the demonic rooster, the previous situation was humiliating. It considered itself a demonic hero, a being respected and admired by its fellow demonic beings. Yet, it had just been beaten by a street-performing monkey.

Unbearable!

"Don't be stubborn, don't be disobedient," Lin Fan said.

The middle-aged man said helplessly, "It's alright, they won't apologize, and nothing really happened. Don't worry about it."

He was almost laughing at the young man in front of him.

This was incredible.

Asking a chicken to apologize to a monkey? He had been performing on the streets for so many years and had never seen anything like it.

"Cluck..."

Bearing the humiliation, adhering to its undercover principles, the demonic rooster lowered its proud head. It didn't want these minor issues to escalate and affect its plan.

Lin Fan nodded approvingly, gently stroking the demonic rooster's head.

"Good boy."

Then he looked at the middle-aged man and said, "It apologized."

The middle-aged man was speechless.

That worked?

If he had asked his monkey to apologize, he could believe it, as monkeys are intelligent and can understand simple human commands. But this chicken... it was lucky enough not to be stewed into soup and become someone's dinner.

After a brief exchange, they parted ways. The middle-aged man had to take his monkey to perform elsewhere.

Lin Fan waved to them.

"Goodbye."

"Goodbye, monkey."

The middle-aged man smiled and bid farewell to Lin Fan and Lao Zhang. He felt that there were many good people in the world. As a monkey trainer, he rarely received the respect he deserved. People often saw him as a 'fake artist', making money off his monkey, suspected of animal abuse.

But only he knew how deep his bond with the monkey was.

How could others understand?

The demonic monkey chattered at the demonic rooster.

"Traitor, goodbye."

Even in parting, it wanted to enrage the demonic rooster.

The demonic rooster felt wronged.

"I'm not a traitor."

"I'm a demonic hero. It's all a misunderstanding." If it could, it desperately wanted to meet the fellow demonic being who considered it a traitor.

"I promise I won't hit you. I just want to reason with you."

Unfortunately, it would likely never have the chance. The demonic groundhog had long been obliterated by another demonic creature.

Patrolling the city was their job.

Helping elderly ladies cross the street.

Helping children retrieve balloons.

Wherever help was needed, they would be there.

In front of a barbecue stall, Lin Fan and Lao Zhang stood, staring at the meat on the grill. The fragrant aroma drifted into their noses, completely activating their taste buds. Unfortunately, they had no money, so they could only stand there and watch.

Their purpose was simply to savor the smell, to satisfy themselves, even if just a little.

After a while, they would leave.

The barbecue stall owner was a young man, skilled in his craft. After preparing the grilled meat for his customers, he was about to take a break when he noticed two people with a chicken standing strangely in front of his stall.

"Huh?"

Initially, the owner hadn't intended to speak to them, but when he saw Lin Fan, he suddenly found him familiar. No, not familiar, but...

He quickly pulled out his phone. The lock screen displayed a picture of a young man.

He looked at Lin Fan, then back at his phone.

There was no mistake.

It was him.

Seeing them about to leave, the owner hurriedly called out, "Wait..."

"Is something the matter?" Lin Fan asked.

The owner, suppressing his excitement, "Are you Lin Fan?"

"Yes," Lin Fan replied, curious. Did this person know him? He didn't recall ever meeting him.

The owner exclaimed, "I'm your idol... no, I'm your fan! I've watched all your videos. You're amazing! We're alive because of you! You're our guardian angel!"

"Is it really that impressive?" Lin Fan was a little embarrassed by the praise.

Lao Zhang said happily, "Of course! Our Lin Fan is the best!"

The demonic rooster, sharing in the glory, raised its proud head. "Yes, well said. I agree with this assessment."

"My idol, can I offer you some barbecue? If you would eat my barbecue, it would be my honor," the owner pleaded sincerely, hoping his idol would accept.

Seeing the owner's enthusiasm, Lin Fan could only nod in agreement. "Alright then."

The owner said, "My idol, is this your chicken? I can help you cook it."

The previously proud demonic rooster, upon hearing these words, glared at the owner with murderous intent.

Human, you're playing with fire.
