Kapitel 45: Chapter 45: Plans, part 1

Nikola checked on the jam in the pot and then added more wood to the oven. Everything was going along nicely. The juice was bubbling happily, and Nikola added some lemon juice to it.

The smell of the lemon cake was filling up the room. The chicken breasts were cooling on a cutting board, and Nikola went to cut some parsley to add to them. He mixed it all and then began to make plates for everyone.

The lemon cake would be hot when they finished eating the main dish. He opened the pantry and took out some vegetables preserves, which he put into two bowls. Then he levitated everything into the dining area, and he began to set the table.

That's how Wei Caihong and Chen Zhaohui found him. With plates floating around the table, and he was looking at the meal.

"Mama really is a mage!" the child exclaimed from the door, where he was still clutching at his father's hand. Nikola nearly dropped all the plates.
