The sun had barely risen, yet the tension in Alex's penthouse was already unbearable. I sat silently on the couch, my hands cradling a steaming mug of coffee. The events of the previous night replayed in my mind - the crash, the letter, Alex's promise. Yet despite his assurances, the shadows of doubt still loomed large.

Alex is legally married to Victoria. So, how am I going to handle everything he has promised me. Could he be lying or he has a hidden agenda.

I stays in his penthouse, sometimes, especially when he wants to keep me close. After the event of the previous night, Alex brought me to his penthouse, since Victoria has been away for a while.

In his study, Alex was pacing back and forth, phone pressed tightly to his ear. His tone was sharp and clipped as he spoke to Lydia, the lawyer he hired for me. Lydia is a smart lady who is known for her no-nonsense approach.
