Alex didn't hear any sound from the bathroom or the kitchen, so he went to check, but Joanna was nowhere to be found.

Those were the only likely places he perceived her to be but since she wasn't, he checked the closet.

His panic grew when he noticed that the white shirt he had washed and airdried for her was missing, frantically calling out, "Joanna, where are you?" He was met with deafening silence.

Leaving the cabin, he heard the sound of water splashing in the distance.
