Kapitel 102: Chapter 102 (edited)

Kara had said something to Perry before, and it could even be said that she was Oracle-like. This time, she was going to Gotham City to deal with a problem.

Because of this, Perry had never insisted that Kara come to work and pretended not to understand her plans, avoiding involvement altogether.

Kara decided to stay home for a couple of days before heading back to work. If Perry knew she was back, he might have had a fit.

She settled in and slept peacefully until late the next morning when the sun was already high in the sky. Kara reluctantly opened her eyes, feeling a bit disoriented.

"Has my room always been this big?" Kara yawned, blinking in confusion. She couldn't shake the feeling that her surroundings seemed larger than usual.

Or maybe it wasn't that the room had grown, but rather...

"Did I shrink?" Kara exclaimed, startled. She jumped out of bed, only to realize that she was no larger than an ant. No wonder the room felt enormous.

What was going on?

Kara hovered in the air, utterly bewildered. This sudden transformation had happened overnight, and she had no idea what had triggered it.

Thankfully, she noticed that not only her body but also her clothes had shrunk along with her, sparing her any embarrassment.

Flying around her room, she couldn't help but think, Did I just turn into Ant-Man?

"Kara? Are you up yet? The sun's already halfway up the sky," Martha called as she opened the bedroom door.

But when Martha looked around, Kara was nowhere to be seen. "Already up? Where did she run off to?" Martha muttered as she turned to leave.

"Mom!" Kara's tiny voice called out.

Martha stopped and looked around, confused. But with Kara's size, it was impossible for her to spot her.

Flying closer, Kara was about to explain, but Martha, thinking it was some sort of insect, swatted at her instinctively.

If the hit had connected, Kara's dramatically reduced mass would have meant catastrophic consequences for her. However, Kara instinctively released her newly discovered shrinking ability, instantly returning to her normal size and stopping Martha's hand.

"Kara?" Martha asked, utterly baffled. "What on Earth are you doing?"

Kara hesitated, unsure of how to explain. She didn't fully understand what had happened herself. It was as if she had just woken up with this ability.

However, she quickly realized that she could control this new power. Kara discovered she could shrink down to ant-size and then return to her normal state at will.

But why had this ability awakened? Kara had no clue. If she had to guess, it was just another manifestation of her Kryptonian powers adapting to Earth's environment.

At breakfast, Kara explained her strange morning to Jonathan and Martha. They were astonished but quickly took it in stride.

"Well, at least you didn't wake up thirty feet tall and destroy the house," Jonathan joked with a nervous chuckle.

But Kara's expression turned serious. "Dad... I have a feeling that tonight, I might become a giant."

Martha dropped her spoon. The idea of Kara growing to a colossal size wasn't exactly reassuring.

To avoid potential disaster, Kara decided to spend the night in a secluded forest.

Her instincts proved correct. The next morning, Kara awoke to find herself towering over the trees.

She estimated she was close to 100 meters tall. Despite her massive size, her clothes had grown with her, saving her from embarrassment once again.

Sitting in the middle of the forest, Kara felt perplexed. "What's happening to me?"

Nearby, a black bear wandered past her feet, completely oblivious to the giant standing nearby. To the bear, her legs looked like towering trees.

Kara mulled over her newfound powers, eventually regaining control over her size. She spent the morning practicing until she could reliably return to her normal height.

When she flew back home, Jonathan and Martha greeted her with relief.

"As I suspected," Kara said, rubbing her forehead. "I can shrink to the size of an ant or grow into a titan up to 100 meters tall."

Though the cause of this sudden development remained a mystery, Kara speculated that it was another manifestation of her Kryptonian biology adapting to Earth's conditions.

"Well," Martha said, finally breaking the tension, "at least it's not a bad thing. Now sit down and eat."

At breakfast, Kara mentioned her plan to return to work after her short break, but Martha persuaded her to stay a little longer.

"Clark will be home tomorrow," Martha reminded her. "Why don't you wait and head back together?"

Agreeing to the plan, Kara decided to stay for another day.
