Kapitel 25: Chapter 25 : New employee: Mr. Negative?Herbeauty

"Calm down, calm down. Don't get too excited just yet. There's still one major problem to solve: how to actually use the Time Gem."

Johnny Blaze composed himself and thought of two possible solutions.

The first was the magic of Kamar-Taj, and the second, the Infinity Gauntlet in Asgard.

Kamar-Taj's library contains a magical text known as the Book of Cagliostro. It focuses on manipulating time and even contains some dark magic that can summon Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension. In the movies, Kaecilius kills the librarian, steals pages from the book, and uses them to summon Dormammu to invade Earth.

But whether or not Johnny possesses any magical aptitude, or could even learn from the book, is irrelevant. Even if he could learn it, he would first need the approval of the Ancient One. Instead of going through the hassle of asking for favors or making demands, Johnny figured it would be more efficient to gain the necessary knowledge directly from the Ancient One.

As for Asgard's Infinity Gauntlet, although Hela, the goddess of death, claimed it was a fake, it must still have some use if it was stored in Odin's vault.

Kamar-Taj or Asgard? Ancient One or Odin?

Johnny decided to approach both. He would gain Ancient One's magic and Odin's power. Both were formidable abilities, and neither would be too difficult to attain. In case things went south, Johnny was confident in his ability to retreat if he couldn't win.

Odin was far away in Asgard and wouldn't come to Earth just to deal with him. Meanwhile, the Ancient One rarely involved herself in the affairs of mortals and, at worst, would only act against Johnny personally without disrupting the overall balance of things.

With nothing to lose, Johnny Blaze decided to take action.

He placed the Time Gem in a safe and made his way downstairs. Several desks were scattered around, and Aunt May was setting up some equipment with a few staff members. In the background, Jessica Jones and another individual with claws were hauling shelves and placing them in the corner of the hall. The staff nearby were staring in disbelief at the scene.

The once-empty hall was now beginning to resemble a bustling courier company.

"Hey, over here!" Jessica Jones called, bringing over three Asian men who had been helping out. "These are the new employees we hired based on your requirements."

As a courier service, there wasn't much need for technical skills. All that was necessary was physical fitness and the ability to follow directions.

"Hello, boss, my name is Li Martin," one of the men introduced himself eagerly.

"Hello, boss, my name is—"

"Hello, boss, my name is—"

The other two introduced themselves as well, but Johnny's attention was fixed on Li Martin.

Li Martin? Or… Martin Li?

Johnny's eyes widened slightly. This man was none other than Mr. Negative, one of Spider-Man's lesser-known villains. As the crime lord of New York's Chinatown, Martin Li possessed superhuman strength and enhanced physical abilities. He was also a master of street combat.

More dangerously, Li could manipulate and release negative energy, which heightened the negative emotions of those around him. Friends, family, and lovers could be driven to kill one another under its influence. Mr. Negative could also form weapons made of pure negative energy, such as swords or spears, and use them in combat.

He wasn't the most famous villain, but he was still a significant threat. Mr. Negative's encounters with Spider-Man often ended in a stalemate, as his negative energy could completely reverse Spider-Man's personality, turning him from good to evil. In many ways, he was Spider-Man's antithesis.

Like many from his cultural background, Martin Li didn't seek out conflict unless his territory or gang was threatened. But to Johnny's surprise, Aunt May had unknowingly hired one of Spider-Man's enemies.

"You," Johnny said, pointing at Martin Li. "Come with me."

Martin Li glanced nervously at Jessica Jones, who had hired him, but seeing no reaction from her, he quickly followed Johnny out of the building.

They entered a nearby alley, and before Martin could say anything, Johnny grabbed him by the shoulder and slammed him into the wall.

"Boom!"

Martin winced in pain, but before he could speak, Johnny's hand shot to his throat, cutting off any protests. A fiery glow began to radiate from Johnny's eyes, like flames from the depths of Hell, silencing Martin instantly.

With a cold voice, Johnny tightened his grip, heat ray at the ready, as if he could incinerate Martin's head at any moment.

By this point, Johnny had already confirmed Martin Li's identity through the drop of negative energy he sensed.

"I know who you are and what you're capable of," Johnny said.

Suddenly, a surge of negative energy flowed from Johnny's fingertips into Martin's body. The villain's face contorted in fear as his body reacted to the energy infusion. His skin turned pitch black and translucent, like the development of a photographic negative.

This was Mr. Negative's true form.
