Though not usually greedy, Shakky's eyes were fixed on the city, her inner greed fully awakened by the sight.
"Yes, this is the legendary City of Gold," Li Yuan confirmed. "With this city, we won't worry about money for at least ten years."
"Expand your Luo Wang network as much as you want, no matter the cost!" Li Yuan laughed.
"This is wonderful! The City of Gold is ours!" Shakky excitedly hugged Li Yuan and kissed him.
"Shakky, make a large mirror and send all the gold into your mirror space," Li Yuan instructed after setting her down.
They couldn't physically carry the city onto the ship, nor could it fit. Shakky's mirror space was large enough for the entire city.
"Alright, I'll make one now!" Shakky said, eagerly crafting an enormous mirror.
Li Yuan began moving the buildings into the mirror space, slicing the larger ones into smaller pieces with his sword.
"Boom!!!!"
Just as they were joyfully transporting the gold, a massive serpent emerged, its gaping maw and flicking tongue aimed at devouring the intruders.
"Get lost!" Li Yuan commanded, his Conqueror's Haki flashing.
The serpent's fierce eyes shrank, its body rigid.
The next moment, shivering, it turned and fled, unwilling to linger.
This human was terrifying; better to move its nest and avoid such dangerous encounters in the future.
"The Lord of the Sky... let's leave the gold in its body for future visitors. Whether they find it is another matter," Li Yuan smiled, watching the serpent retreat.
With the City of Gold, he no longer cared for the small amount inside the serpent.
Li Yuan and Shakky spent half a day moving all the gold into the mirror space.
"Finally done, the City of Gold is ours!" Shakky declared, despite being sweaty, she was elated. This was the City of Gold, and it was all theirs!
"There might be more up there. Let's take a look," Li Yuan suggested, climbing the giant vine with Shakky.
"There's a huge golden bell here too. Almost missed it!" Shakky laughed, placing the bell into the mirror space.
Li Yuan said nothing, not intending to ring the bell and alert others to the city's location.
If others heard it, they might connect it to the City of Gold.
He preferred to quietly amass wealth, doing good deeds without seeking attention.
As for the nearby Poneglyph, Li Yuan took it as well, not wanting others to learn about the ancient weapons.
"Let's head back," Li Yuan said, satisfied with their haul.
"Daddy, Daddy, look! We bought so many fun things. We even got you a gift," Wei Zhuang and the kids excitedly showed off their shell toys upon seeing Li Yuan return.
"Gan Fall, increase production of impact, slicing, and gale shells. We'll regularly purchase various shells in bulk."
"We'll trade not just Berries but also other Blue Sea goods."
"This time, we'll buy 70% of your island's shells as a gesture of goodwill for our first transaction," Li Yuan said after calming the children, addressing Gan Fall, the island's ruler.
"No problem, sir, we'll produce plenty of shells!" Gan Fall replied, thrilled by the prospect.
"Good, the next trade will be in six months," Li Yuan agreed.
Sky Island's resources were unavailable in the Blue Sea, and highly sought after.
Initially, Li Yuan planned to keep the shells within the Infinity Pirates for internal use, not for sale.
Originally, he considered taking over Sky Island, but Shakky's Mirror-Mirror Fruit hadn't developed enough to connect with the first half of the Grand Line.
So, he decided to maintain trade relations until Shakky's powers could encompass the island, then he'd claim it.
"Alright, sir, I'll have the islanders increase shell production," Gan Fall promised.
"By the way, do you know where Birka Island is?" Li Yuan asked.
He sought not only the City of Gold but also the Logia Rumble-Rumble Fruit and the blueprint for a golden ship.
"Birka? It's in that direction," Gan Fall recalled, pointing.
"Got it, we're heading to Birka Island next," Li Yuan said, boarding with Lazuli and the others.
"Li Yuan, is there something you want on Birka Island?" Shakky inquired, knowing Li Yuan wouldn't go without reason.
"Of course, there's this!" Li Yuan showed her a printed Devil Fruit guide, highlighting the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
"The legendary strongest Logia fruit, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit?" Shakky gasped.
"Yes, the strongest Logia fruit is on Birka Island!" Li Yuan confirmed.
Hearing his certainty, Shakky, knowing Li Yuan wasn't a Devil Fruit user, almost thought he'd eaten a prophecy fruit.
Following Gan Fall's directions, they soon reached Birka Island.
Without alerting the islanders, Li Yuan used Moonwalk to land on Birka.
He randomly read someone's memory, locating the temple where the fruit was kept.
"Found it!!" Opening a box in the temple, he saw the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and a set of blueprints.
He'd only guessed the fruit was here, yet it truly was in the temple.
With his prize secured, Li Yuan left the temple in high spirits.
"You useless freak! I told you to wash the dishes, and you broke them! Useless!!"
While walking through the town, Li Yuan saw a woman beating and scolding a wingless child.
"Enel?" Li Yuan thought, recalling the original series' Enel.
Enel was about the same age as Gai Nie, around four or five, but looked frail and undernourished.
"Sorry, sorry, I won't do it again!" Enel apologized, holding back tears, his submissive posture pitiful.
"Next time? There won't be a next time. I took you in out of kindness, and you broke my dishes. Get out, and don't let me see you again!"
The woman kicked Enel, sending him flying.
Enel lay in pain, clutching his stomach. At five, it was a testament to his resilience that he didn't pass out.
"No, don't, please don't make me leave!" Despite the pain, Enel begged, fearing starvation if cast out.
He didn't want to die. His will to live was strong, enduring hardship and beatings to avoid hunger.
"No, get out, or I'll break your legs!" The woman threatened, brandishing a stick.
"No, please, I'll go!" Terrified, Enel crawled away, clutching his stomach.
Though in agony, Enel bit his lip, crawling slowly.
Red-eyed and tearful, he said nothing, but Li Yuan heard his inner cries.
"Why, why do you all bully me?"
It took Enel half an hour to crawl less than a hundred meters, reaching Li Yuan's feet.
"Help me," Enel whispered, reaching out with his bloodied hand, too weak to lift his head.
"Eat this," Li Yuan said, placing a pill in Enel's mouth.
Enel, hearing the words, instinctively chewed and swallowed.
A warm sensation spread through his body, easing his pain and exhaustion.
"Thank you," Enel said, but as relief washed over him, he passed out.
At five, enduring such pain and mental strain, it was natural for him to faint when relaxed.
"Not bad," Li Yuan remarked, lifting Enel and heading back to the ship.
In the original series, Enel had potential, cut short by Luffy's plot armor.
Though Li Yuan wouldn't give him the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, if Enel showed promise, he wouldn't hesitate to offer another powerful fruit.
"Where is this?" Enel wondered upon waking in unfamiliar surroundings.
"Awake? Follow me," a crew member said, leading the bewildered Enel to Birka Island.
There, all the island's residents knelt, surrounded by 500 armed pirates.
"They..." Enel stared at those who tormented him, now terrified and kneeling.
"Enel, do you know why they bullied you before?" Li Yuan asked calmly.
"Because I'm a freak!" Enel replied, biting his lip. That's what they told him.
"No, it's not because you're a freak. It's because you're weak. Without power, you're easy prey."
"If you had strength like mine, they wouldn't dare bully you. I can make them kneel with just a word."
"If you had such power, would they still bully you?" Li Yuan continued.
"No, if I had that power, they wouldn't dare. I want strength!" Enel realized, understanding the world better.
In that moment, Enel understood he needed power to stop the bullying and to never be a victim again.
