The Early Days
"Jack, I'm telling you, I'm gonna do it," Ethan said, shadowboxing in their shared room. The brothers were still teenagers, scraping by in a rundown apartment their single mother struggled to afford.
"Do what?" Jack asked, sitting on the edge of the bed, tying his shoes.
"Become the youngest champion," Ethan said, his eyes alight with determination.
Jack rolled his eyes but smiled. "You've been saying that since you were ten. Maybe this time, you'll actually get close."
"Close?" Ethan laughed, throwing a playful jab at Jack. "I'm gonna do it. And when I do, I'll make sure you're eating your words."
Jack smirked and ducked under Ethan's arm. "Yeah, yeah. Just don't break your nose before you even get in the ring."
Ethan's journey began in underground gyms, much like Jack's. But where Jack had to claw his way into recognition, Ethan's natural talent made him stand out from the start.
