A Plan in Jeopardy
Morgan listened to Lott's words and nodded in approval. "Yes, you're right. Money is only valuable when it circulates."
Lott's face showed a mix of surprise and confusion. Wait, she knows this too?
Morgan, having heard his unspoken thoughts, couldn't help but smile triumphantly. You thought you were the only wise one, didn't you?
She reflected on Lott's approach to spending. Many nobles hoard their wealth, only to face a situation where their riches are useless if their lands are overrun. Morgan admired Lott's perspective that it's better to invest and build a strong force rather than save money for a ransom.
Lott's idea is quite commendable. It's a fresh approach compared to traditional methods, she thought. Once I become queen of Camelot, I will make sure this idea spreads. I'll build the strongest army and ensure our strength is undeniable.
She wanted to see Lott's reaction to her realization and hoped to impress him with her strategic thinking. Morgan rested her chin on her hand, observing Lott expectantly.
Lott, meanwhile, was internally celebrating Morgan's insight. As expected of my wife, she gets it. Morgan's fantastic.
Morgan was slightly taken aback by Lott's internal praise. Really? Are you not frustrated or challenged by me?
Feeling a surge of affection, Morgan thought, In that case, I might have to kiss you!
Lott's inner thoughts made Morgan very pleased, despite his somewhat unconventional reactions. "Alright, let's talk about our strategy for dealing with the underdog," she said, shifting the conversation.
Strategy Discussions
Lott nodded in agreement, his happiness evident. Morgan's insight is impressive, but I'm still concerned about the plan's risks.
Morgan, confident in her strategy, picked up a map and traced her finger along a route. "Our territory isn't as strong as my father's, so we can't be the main force in this war. I think we should gather our troops and look for an opportunity to strike at Vortigern's weak points while he's focused on attacking my father's lands. If we inflict significant damage, it could give my father an advantage."
She pointed to the proposed route on the map, outlining her offensive strategy. Her pride in the plan was evident, as it diverged from the traditional defensive tactics used by King Uther. Morgan was determined to prove her worth and avoid being relegated to a secondary role in the war effort.
Lott studied the map carefully. This plan is appealing, but it's also very risky.
Morgan sensed Lott's hesitation. She gritted her teeth, feeling a bit frustrated. I worked hard on this plan, and now you're dismissing it? If you don't come up with a better solution, you'll be sleeping on the couch tonight.
Lott ran his finger along the proposed route. The path to Vortigern's territory included challenging mountainous terrain. Our soldiers are used to the sea, not mountain warfare. If Vortigern anticipates our move, we could get trapped in the mountains.
Morgan heard Lott's internal objections and considered his points. He's right; our soldiers might struggle in the mountains. And Vortigern is a skilled commander. My plan, though ambitious, does have its risks.
Despite her frustration, Morgan acknowledged Lott's valid concerns. She rested her chin on her hands, looking at him with hopeful eyes. Come on, Lott, give me a better plan.
Lott's expression seemed to light up with a new idea. Wait, I've got it!
Morgan's excitement surged. Finally! Tell me your plan.
But as she eagerly awaited his response, she was met with silence. What's happening? Why is there no more information?
Morgan felt a pang of annoyance. Why are you cutting off the plan now?
Realizing she had exhausted her ability to read Lott's thoughts for the day, Morgan felt a growing frustration. I can't wait until tomorrow to hear his plan!
With a hopeful yet determined smile, Morgan addressed Lott. "I see you have doubts about my plan."
Lott, his expression awkward, nodded. "Yes, it's a bit risky."
He wanted to refute Morgan's plan but hesitated to undermine her confidence. If I criticize her too harshly, she might get upset. And dealing with an angry Morgan is not something I want to face.
Ultimately, Lott decided to withhold his full critique to avoid upsetting Morgan, while internally grappling with the challenge of finding a viable alternative.
