Kapitel 33: Big Sign of Trouble [2]

"Alright, that should do it," I said as I looked at three potted plants in front of me and Enkidu.

As Enkidu said, since I don't use any magical energy of any kind, we'll need an outside source to absorb that energy out.

We decided that the surrounding plant life would be a good experiment.

"It's fortunate that the air is filled with magical energy," Enkidu said and I chose not to comment on that being something that won't last.

"I am curious though, can you speed up the growth of plants?" I nodded in confirmation and showed Jim by raising my hand at the direction of one of the plants and making it grow a little.

"Fascinating. It just grew naturally but at a far larger pace. There was no form of alteration," Enkidu. commented while looking over the one I grew. "Now, I suppose we should focus on what we came here to do today."

"Please tell me you'll explain what am I supposed to do this time, I requested.

Enkidu just chuckled. "Honestly, I never did anything like this myself. So, this will be a new experience for both of us."

I hated how he was right.

I sighed and looked at the second potted plant and tried to think of a way on how to achieve this.

I did come up with something after a moment and decided to try it.

I closed my eyes and started sensing the magical energy around us.

When I got a good feel of it, I looked at the potted plant and tried to make it 'take in' that heat.

Nothing happened for a while and it stayed like this for a few minutes. I tried harder to focus on the heat and the plant at the same time, trying to have it suck in that energy.

The plant began moving around, probably because of how much I was focusing on it.

But then, it started growing like the other one, only at a FAR slower rate.

The couple of leaves on it also began glowing.

"Oh my, you actually did it!" Enkidu did sound excited, but mostly about seeing it happen. "Though, that took quite the bit of time, and it doesn't appear the plant absorbed that much magical energy."

"Hey, we gotta start somewhere, right?" I replied with a shrug

"Hehe, I suppose you are correct," Enkidu nodded.

"I believe we should keep training, shouldn't we?" I think me and Enkidu got along pretty well because we were both still exploring the world around us.

Can't deny we both were like children when it came to new things I was walking towards the forest nomad section.

My training with Enkidu for today was finished, and Siduri was busy with something today so I didn't have any training with reading.

Time really flew by today. It was already night time and there was hardly any people on the streets. Whatever people were there were sitting up some decorations for something.

I noticed it a few seconds ago but people around the city seemed to be ready to celebrate something.

The decorations consisted of flowers entangled together and, on rare occasions, some jewellery too.

I also noticed some small statues of a woman with wings.

I should seriously ask what's going on. I walked up to Baraka's house and knocked on the wooden door a couple of time's.

His wife, Hesha, was the one to answer the door.

"Oh, Great Zack! Is there something we can help you with?" The woman asked me.

Not really, I just wanted to know if I shook my head. " you know what's going on with the city," I said. "Ah, I believe Baraka was talking to the guards earlier today about that. I shall call for him," with that, she went back into the house and I just waited outside.

A couple of minutes later, Baraka came out. "Great Zack, did you wish to know of the city's status?"

"Yeah, everyone seem to be getting ready for some festival. What's going on?" I asked.

Baraka stroked his beard. "I believe the guards told me that this time of year is a time of celebration in honor of a goddess, and that they received news of that goddess herself coming to Uruk."

I wasn't really surprised Baraka didn't know the details. He's not a native of Uruk, after all.

This celebration is probably why Siduri was busy. But I couldn't help but be surprised that this is something important and that there was something I was missing.

(A goddess... visiting?) I thought to myself. Then, it clicked. Enkidu's bad mood, the winged woman statues, and the goddess visit. "SHIT!" I cried out, which made poor Baraka jump in shock.

I didn't have time to worry about him though as I immediately turned around and left the forest nomad section.

I didn't even bother running. Instead, I turned to my wind element and started flying.

I flew over the houses and city, heading straight towards Gilgamesh's Castle. I got closer and closer to the castle. I was about to fly through the gate when-

*Crash!*

Something smashed out of the castle's roof. It was glowing gold too brightly for me to see exactly what it looks like, but I could still make out a feminine figure.

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, GOLDIE! WAAAAH" The figure yelled out before it shot through the sky while crying. Seeing the figure vanish in the distance, I couldn't help but say one thing. "F""k",
