~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stepping into the inn I was surprised to see a level of opulence that went far beyond anything I had ever seen, even in my last life. Gold and marble lined the entire entry way of the inn with black opal decorating light fixtures that glowed with magical blue flames. Plants of all types were potted in the corners of the room, bringing a livelihood that was unexpected.
Some plants moved as their pseudo-mouths opened and closed. Others were simply beautiful flowers or wide palm leaf-like. At the end of the entryway was a T-junction with a reception desk taking up the end of of the 'T'. The desk itself was lined in cobalt material that shone mystically, gold etched into it in different languages that I had yet to encounter. Behind the desk was a woman of similar beauty to the elvish woman who was still behind me and guiding me within.
"Welcome to The Radiant Emissary. "
Gazing at her as she introduced the space to me I found that her eyes were a rainbow colour, those colours slowly flicked between the hues of the rainbow, one after another. Her nose was strong and imperial but soft looking as her jawline was as sharp as a blade's edge. The facial structure itself was rather imperial but also had a softness that betrayed her imposing expressions.
"This is a special Inn that only those of a 'special' type can enter and take shelter within."
"Ummm... What's special about me then?"
The elven woman stopped in her tracks as I also ceased my movements. She looked flabbergasted, slightly shocked and just a slight little bit caught off guard. I must have been giving her an innocent look as she blinked before smiling cutely; my blushes naturally coming forth once more.
"Oh sweetie. You don't know?"
"U-um... No...?"
"Well, let us get you a room first. Then we can have a drink and discuss thing, kay?"
Nodding sagely despite the confusion I was experiencing, I followed her once again. We stepped up to the reception and she started speaking in a language that was at first foreign but soon became like English to me. Furrowing my brow in concentration I quickly divined with my intellect as to why someone else would be speaking 'English'.
'The elves said I spoke Celestial when I was sure I was speaking English... Perhaps, she is speaking Celestial?'
"Yes, she is new. Take the cost away, it is free for this single time."
The lady bent down and spoke into the ear of the receptionist who slowly showed more shock, or worry, it was hard to define. Their conversation ended before the receptionist inclined her head towards the elven lady and began writing with an ink-quill onto a logbook. I was yearning to ask questions but my intents were interrupted as the lady hooked her arm through mine and started to lead me towards a duo of ashy-coloured doors.
"Where are we going?"
"For those drinks. There is a lot to speak about, it seems, and I do not wish to unload it all on you without refreshments."
Her free hand reached for the door, before we even got there, and the doors themselves opened. No sounds were made by the doors as a large tavern-like room opened up. Hundreds of stools and tables were arrayed through the large wooden room. At the far end of the said room, and opposite the door, there was a beautifully maintained bar. Stained glass made up a large part of the fixtures of the bar itself as whatever wasn't glass was finely made woods and metals. Thousands of bottles lined the walls as many, many, tavern goers were smattered through the room. Laughs, conversation, clinking of glasses reverberated around the room melodically as singing could be heard from somewhere in the room.
It was all so much to take in that I completely forgot that I was being dragged, finding myself a minute later being forced down into a seat. Still i was distracted by the people of the tavern as all of them were gorgeous. One was wearing armour that gleamed spectrally and had tear-drops of diamonds and emeralds embossed onto it. The eye colours of the people were also stunning, ranging from bright reds and yellows to ocean-adjacent lapis colours. All of them were amazing in some way, be it their physique or their presence...
"Barmaid! Two Waterdehavian Wines please!"
The type of wine made no impact on me but judging by how the maid reacted, it was probably expensive. Awkwardness filled me for a few moments as I truly felt the lack of weight in the coin purse now. My presence made very little impact on people in the room, as most's attentions were consumed by their drinks or their fellow companions.
"Sweetie, what do you know about yourself?"
Her question came from nowhere as I tried to still understand how this all had happened so quickly. It was like a tempest of utter chaos and my mind was reeling still, my intelligence and wisdom attempting to grasp my situation, no doubt, but subtilty failing.
"Um. My name is Lumin'ara'el... I kind of just appeared in the Snakewoods one day."
"Hmm, Lumin'ara'el. I see. Born of the light, light bringer, holder of the light... Intriguing. Do you know your parents?"
Her translations of my name sort of spooked me as those were some of the titles used for Lucifer Morningstar in Christianity back on Earth. But it was no doubt lacking connection as if that was the case I would have simply been named Lucifer Morningstar as that was the Latin for the words 'Light bringer'.
"No. All I know was that I was sent there by someone called Ao."
A hush spread through the entire tavern area as I said the name. The woman sitting on the opposite side of me opened her sexy mouth in agape as the rest of the people around all stared at me with wide eyes. Shadowed figures at the edges of the room started to emerge as their features were much darker than some of the others. Moving back in my chair as they did so, they stopped, the woman opposite me holding her hand up.
"Ao, are you sure...?"
"Yes? Is it bad?"
Murmurs spread throughout the groups of people as the elven lady before me just looked a little shell shocked. I didn't know how powerful or important this Ao person was, or why they were so interested but I didn't see it as important information. I mean, i hadn't even told them I come from a different world or maybe even universe, I didn't know myself; And i never would. Some secrets are way too dangerous to speak out about.
"No, it's not bad, not at all. It's just... You are one of a kind."
"Okay. What's going on? Am i being scammed here?"
"Sweetie, no, you are not. Look, let's start from the beginning... I am an Aasimar, a celestial-born woman who was the result of Milil- Goddess of Creativity and the Arts, having relations with an elven man."
"We, everyone who is here in The Radiant Emissary, are Aasimar."
Electricity flowed through my brain as if I'd been hit by a lightning strike. Aasimar were a lot more potentially powerful than what I had seen of my own abilities so far. One would expect wings or something from being such 'divine' beings, but it seemed that almost everyone here lacked wings.
"Wait, that doesn't imply that I am a daughter of Ao, does it?"
"Far beyond implications, sweetie, it means that you are the spawn of the God of Creation. You are an Aasimar like us."
More murmurs spread as the entire atmosphere was utterly weird now. All of them were giving me odd looks, some curious, others lustful... Some just downright malevolent. Seeing my discomfort the lady across from me snapped her fingers, causing all of the other Aasimar to groan and start slowly going back to their own activities.
"I apologise for them, it's just that we never expected a daughter of a god so powerful. Even Mystra does not have Aasimar, let alone Ao... But it seems we were wrong about some things."
"It's fine. I am just blown away by the revelation is all."
"Understandable... My name is Lilianna by the way, feel free to ask me any questions and I'll see if I can answer them."
{Mission Completed- What Am I!?}
{Dispensing Rewards: Unlock Species Features , Possibly Discover Godly Connection, Proficiency in Religion}
"Thank yo-"
My eyes opened wide as I felt two appendages sprout from my back. Looking around in panic Lilianna's eyes flashed a serene blue as wings curled upwards from my back. Panic rushed through my heart as adrenaline kicked in and I found myself floundering within my chair. I got flashes of my new wings, a kaleidoscope of colours making it up. Maroon for the tips of my wings that slowly faded into dark pinks, then light pinks until eventually white, purple and luscious pink made up the inner parts of my wings. How i could tell this? Well Lilianna had used her magic to show me an image, seeing my worry.
'What the fuck, why now?'
I checked my missions screen and soon found that my fifth mission was completed, the rewards dispensed. This is also possibly explained the odd feelings I was now experiencing inside myself where I felt like a pit of sunlight in my heart. Raising my hand in instinct I willed that force to come out. Shining light with silver hue spilled out from my palms and created a large radiating light that seemed brighter than any of the light fixtures on the walls.
"Haha, good, whatever we told you seems to have cleared some blockage in your body or powers. Welcome to Aasimar-dem Lumina."
'What the fuck is my day?'
"Th-thanks."
She reached over the table and clasped her hand to mine, giving me a firm shake before standing up and going to inquire about the drinks she ordered for us. I didn't move as my wings were freely displayed and didn't flicker out after a minutes, something that was entirely odd to me.
'What the fuck does it mean to be a daughter of Ao?'
