Kapitel 150: No matter what you look like, I'll stay by your side for life

Standing on the street, Soren waved his hand energetically as his parents' car drove away, his face beaming with a bright smile.

But as the taillights of the car gradually disappeared down the street, his smile slowly faded.

He anxiously took a few steps forward, his expression turning confused, as if he were searching for something lost.

Soren's hand slowly dropped to his side, and he started running in small, quick steps, like a child who had lost something.

He chased after the car as it disappeared into the distance.

"Dad, Mom..." he murmured softly, his voice trembling.

"Don't leave me, don't leave me..." he mumbled, his steps quickening as he stumbled past one streetlamp after another.

The cone-shaped beams of light cast his shadow repeatedly across the pavement.

Until he collided with a solid, white chest.

A warm hand cupped his cheek, and Clark's deep voice sounded above his head, "Soren, it's time to go home."

Clark wiped the tear streaks from Soren's face with his thumb, his dark, strong eyebrows deeply furrowed, "Why are you crying?"

Soren trembled in his hands, shaking violently, like a small rabbit caught by a hunter.

He lowered his gaze, his tear-drenched eyelashes clumped together, sticking softly to his lower eyelids.

"I just... I don't want to be without them. I don't want my mom and dad to leave me," he said quietly in Clark's hands.

Clark sighed.

He lifted Soren into his arms, holding him close without saying a word and gently stroking his cheek.

His thoughts wandered, troubled by the sorrow of the one he loved so deeply.

His love for Soren was like the tide rising at sunset, slowly overwhelming the seawalls built along the shore.

He was constantly making concessions for Soren.

They walked back to the Justice League headquarters in silence.

The headquarters was illuminated by lights that never went out.

Clark descended onto the designated landing pad for Justice League members and gently setting Soren down.

Soren's feet touched the vast circular asphalt surface.

Clark stood at the center of the area, watching him closely, then released his wrist.

"Soren," Clark began, his voice encouraging, "do you want to try evolving into Angemon? I've noticed you haven't evolved into that form in quite some time."

Soren looked up at him, startled, his shoulders tensing, "...Can I?"

Clark nodded his head seriously, affirming him.

Soren stood in front of Clark, nervously scuffing the ground with the tip of his shoe.

Was he really going to... evolve?

He hesitated before slightly raising his arms.

The unfamiliar sensation of evolving in front of Clark made him uneasy, but he closed his eyes and imagined Magna Angemon's form in his mind.

Then, brilliant white light burst from every inch of his skin.

His body became covered in a long white robe, his dark hair lightened and lengthened into golden strands cascading down to his waist.

White wings sprouted from his back, and a sacred white crown with feathery wings adorned his head.

In his hand, the Excalibur gleamed with sharp, divine energy.

...He had chosen to evolve into Magna Angemon (Priest Mode).

In this form, Angemon wasn't as physically imposing as his battle-ready Magna Angemon.

Only one pair of his silver wings emerged instead of eight, and the armor was replaced by the flowing white robe, making him appear more approachable, almost serene.

Soren walked toward Clark, now meeting him eye to eye.

Clark smiled warmly and took his hand.

"Let me take you out for a walk to clear your mind," he said softly.

Clark floated upward, his white cape billowing softly behind him.

Soren lifted his head, the wings on his back gently fluttering as he reached out to grab Clark's hand and followed him into the sky.

Together, they soared toward the starry night, two white silhouettes rising into the heavens.

Clark slowed his pace, waiting for Soren to catch up, never letting go of his hand as they weaved through the clouds.

The clouds were made of cool droplets and mist.

As they flew through the vapor, Soren's hair became damp and clung to his face.

Clark stopped, helping him straighten the strands that had become matted together from the moisture.

They settled on a cloud, with Clark cradling Soren in his arms.

Soren wrapped his white wings around them, creating a cocoon of feathers, and then removed his crown.

Beneath the mask of Angemon, where most of his face was hidden, lay a visage of perfect symmetry and clean lines, as if sculpted from divinity itself.

It was a face that transcended gender, as sacred and pure as an angelic statue.

His eyebrows and eyelashes were a soft, pale gold, and his blue eyes were a pure, innocent shade of baby blue—the very same eyes that belonged to Soren.

Soren held his crown in his hands, brushing aside the damp hair that was stuck to his cheeks.

Clark watched him in silence, occasionally reaching out to tuck an errant strand back into place.

Clark's fingers grazed Soren's face, dry and tickling slightly.

Soren turned his head, feeling a bit nervous, "Now you've even seen how I look as Angemon. No one else in the world has ever seen this face except you."

Clark smiled gently, "But your appearance is the least important thing to me. No matter what form you take, I will always love you. Even if you were to become a completely different person, I'd still be able to find the soul I love in a crowd."

Soren slowly lowered his hands, and the enormous white wings spread wide behind him.

Soren seemed to be touched by Clark's words and looked at him, "…Even if I'm a child, a teenager, an adult, or an old man, even if I'm just a little cat, you could still find me?"

"I could," Clark held his hand, "No matter what you look like, I'll stay by your side for life."
