Kapitel 93: Chapter 73 : Good or Bad??

Did this new trait appear only after reaching a certain level of recognition? Kagetsu wondered internally.

The only difference between this and his previous inventions was the recognition level.

Could it be that once physical strength reaches a specific threshold, a unique new trait manifests?

Kagetsu didn't dwell on this question for long; he quickly dismissed it, knowing a simple experiment could verify the answer.

The recognition boost that medical ninjutsu gained was linked to Yang Release.

So, would chakra products of other elements also develop new traits once they reached a certain standard?

Would it be similar to Yang Release, increasing the affinity and quantity of that chakra?

Or would it enhance the body with specific attributes based on the chakra's nature?

For example, would Lightning Release improve speed, reaction time, and movement agility?

Or perhaps make attacks more penetrating and paralyzing?

Kagetsu felt eager to test these possibilities.

However, the Healing Tag achieved such a high level of recognition only after being endorsed by the Hokage and gaining the approval of half the village's Jōnin.

In the future, more Jōnin and Chūnin might add their support, potentially leading to even more unpredictable changes.

This current enhancement in physical ability, though, unexpectedly solved a hidden problem he'd been facing due to the rapid growth of his Yin chakra, which had been outpacing his body's strength.

He'd already been working on ways to address his body's limitations—his modifications to Anko's body were part of this plan, although with a different focus.

For now, at least, he didn't need to worry about his body's condition in the near future.

Previously, his Yin Release had reached a level comparable to the awakened Kurama Clan members with Kekkei Genkai, or even rivaled the Uchiha who had unlocked the Three Tomoe Sharingan with strong ocular power.

What was even more surprising was that his affinity with Yin Release continued to grow without reaching any apparent limit.

If he hadn't taken measures to slow this growth, he felt he might have been approaching the level of the Mangekyō Sharingan, ready for an even deeper bloodline transformation.

Of course, if he ever reached that point, his body—which hadn't fully matured—would become even weaker, with a heightened risk of bloodline disease.

The last thing he wanted was to end up with a frail constitution, weaker than his own clan members.

In the study of Kekkei Genkais, while those with exceptional talent often awaken their abilities sooner, it's not always a good thing for the individual—especially in cases involving Yin Release and Yang Release.

There aren't many examples of Yang Release around, but for Yin Release, Kagetsu has seen plenty, both from the present and from his memories of the future.

Awakening the Yin Release Kekkei Genkai early can actually place an enormous strain on the body. Without carefully balancing both physical and mental conditioning, the chances of developing a hereditary illness in adulthood become significantly higher than for other clan members.

However, in the ninja world, clans with Yin Release Kekkei Genkai consider members who awaken these powers early as more gifted. The most iconic example of this is the Uchiha Clan in Konoha.

If a clan member hasn't awakened their Sharingan by a certain age, others in the clan may look down on them. Conversely, if you can activate your Sharingan early and show off your talent, the whole clan will see you as an undeniable genius.

This rigid mindset has been ingrained in the ninja world for thousands of years.

Since its earliest records, the Uchiha Clan has revered power and strength, taking immense pride in their eyes and visual abilities. In a world where strength defines one's voice and right to exist, this mindset is deeply rooted.

In a society that doesn't change and lacks diverse perspectives, shifting their views to accept that this long-standing belief could be wrong is nearly impossible.

When Kagetsu once studied Shisui's Sharingan, he told him that as a Kekkei Genkai tied to Yin Release, the Sharingan, known as the "eyes that reflect the heart," is not necessarily better if awakened too early.

Yin Release Kekkei Genkai are highly influenced by external stimuli and one's own mental state. If a child, still innocent and impressionable, experiences something traumatic, and it imprints deeply on their mind, it's not necessarily a good thing.

These early, immature experiences can create lasting psychological shadows. As these memories intensify day by day, nurtured by Yin Release power, they can easily push someone toward extremes.

In summary, this leads to a higher chance of developing paranoid or psychotic tendencies. If their thoughts spiral into a dead end, it can lead to severe self-destructive behavior or, conversely, place intense strain on the body, eventually causing bloodline-related illness due to the overpowering nature of Yin Release.

Shisui was shocked by Kagetsu's conclusion from his research.

It was his first time considering the Sharingan from a perspective that disregarded power.

In clan records and among clan jonin, the focus has always been on the power and glory of the Sharingan—the earlier the awakening, the stronger the proof of Uchiha talent.

But from Kagetsu, Shisui had encountered an understanding that conflicted with everything he had known.

When faced with conflicting conclusions, who should one trust?

Based on experience, Shisui should trust his clan members and the clan's ancient texts. After all, only the Sharingan wielders can truly understand the Sharingan! Who in this world could know more about the Uchiha eyes than the Uchihas themselves?

Yet, in truth, Shisui found himself more inclined to trust Kagetsu's conclusions.

It wasn't only Kagetsu; the Second Hokage had also studied the Uchiha clan's Sharingan. His research notes had been left behind with Tsunade, who handed them over to Orochimaru and Kagetsu before she left the village.

As teammates, Kagetsu hadn't hidden this research from Shisui, so he knew that the Second Hokage's findings and Kagetsu's conclusions overlapped in many significant ways.

While other members of the Uchiha clan might have reacted with outrage or argued with Kagetsu over those findings, Shisui—an unusual member of the Uchiha—didn't mind.

In his heart, he even leaned toward the Second Hokage's perspective. For him, being a Konoha shinobi came first, and being a Uchiha clan member came second.

The village came first.

The clan came second.

So he quickly accepted Kagetsu's conclusions.

"So, it's not that awakening the Sharingan at a younger age means more talent?" Shisui asked Kagetsu at the time.

"Not exactly. Awakening the Sharingan isn't a perfect measure of an Uchiha's talent, because it requires a powerful emotional trigger. The younger a person is and the stronger the trigger, the worse it might actually be.

The Uchiha are deeply emotional, easily tangled in feelings. Traumatic experiences at a young age can cast a shadow over them for life."
