Kapitel 7: Chapter 7: A New Dawn
Feng Yan woke with a start, the gentle lapping of the spring's water soothing her from her slumber. The night had provided her with the rest she desperately needed, and as she opened her eyes, she felt a renewed sense of energy. She stretched out her limbs, feeling the lingering fatigue of her earlier exhaustion dissipate.
"This place is incredible," she said, her voice filled with wonder. "I didn't expect to sleep so well."
She slowly stood up, taking in her surroundings. The courtyard, bathed in the soft light of the early morning, looked even more enchanting than before. The space was her sanctuary, a place she could retreat to whenever she needed solace. But as she looked around, she was reminded of the world outside—the world she couldn't ignore forever.
"I can't stay here all the time," Feng Yan mused, her tone thoughtful. "The world outside is waiting for me. I need to face it, no matter how tempting it is to remain here."
The realization brought with it a mix of emotions—fear, anticipation, and determination. She was aware of her new responsibilities and the opportunities this space afforded her, but she also knew she couldn't hide forever.
"This space is mine," she affirmed, her voice steady. "No one can take it from me. But it's just one part of my journey. I need to make use of it, not let it be a hiding place."
With this thought, Feng Yan decided to leave the sanctuary of her space and return to the outside world. As she flashed out of the realm, she was greeted by the familiar surroundings of the Feng family's mansion. To her surprise, only a few hours had passed in the outside world despite what felt like an entire night in her space.
"That's amazing," she said, her eyes wide with relief. "I have more time than I thought. I can still make plans and prepare for what's ahead."
Night had fallen, and the mansion was shrouded in darkness. Feng Yan thought of her friend Ning Jue, a name that stirred a mix of regret and gratitude in her heart. Ning Jue had always been kind to her, despite the way Feng Yan had distanced herself.
"I should call Ning Jue," Feng Yan said, her voice tinged with a mix of hope and remorse. "She's the one person who genuinely cared about me and didn't judge me for being an adopted daughter."
She thought back to their past interactions, recalling how Ning Jue had warned her about the family and expressed concern for her well-being. At the time, Feng Yan had been too caught up in her own fears and insecurities to truly appreciate the warning.
"I wish I had listened to her back then," Feng Yan admitted to herself. "But it's not too late. She's still a friend, and she's still someone who supports me."
Feng Yan felt a pang of sadness as she considered how her past actions had caused her to lose touch with a friend who had cared for her in her previous life . But she was determined to make things right in this life.
With that, Feng Yan took a deep breath, her mind racing with plans and possibilities. She knew that reaching out to Ning Jue would be an important step, but she also understood the need to be thoughtful and prepared.
As she looked out at the night sky, Feng Yan felt a sense of calm and readiness. The journey ahead was uncertain, but she was determined to face it head-on. And with a renewed sense of purpose, she prepared to take the next steps in her quest for justice and self-discovery.
